Established in 1986.

Dr Jason Bajuscak is the new owner of City Dental as Dr. Theresa Calcagno retired at the end of 2012.

Dr. Jason Bajuscak graduated from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in 2009. Dr. Bajuscak joined City Dental, Dr. Calcagno’s office, after spending a few years practicing in Eugene and Salem. Dr. Bajuscak’s wife and her family are all Portland natives and are excited to be back in Portland.

Quite honestly some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Everyone from the front desk to the hygienists to the doctor has a smile on their face (even at 8 am!). I’ve only been going for about two years but they remember me — even my hobbies. I also have some tricky stuff with my jaw, and out of the blue I got a call from them about a new physical therapist who specializes in jaw problems — they told me they heard about the doctor and thought of me. That kind of thoughtfulness about patients is one in a million.
Overall, they are knowledgeable, friendly, and convenient; they even send text message reminders (if you opt into it). The office is clean and up-​to-​date. One of the hygienists told me they’re on their way to entirely paperless. I send everyone at my office to them and Dr. Bajuscak :)

I had a very negative experience with Dr. Bajuscak today. Beware! Two stars, instead of one, only because his recent staff have been courteous and helpful and I thought he was okay before this. Dr. Bajuscak, however, refused to treat me over a disagreement we had which I calmly attempted to work out with him. After having verbally agreed during our last appointment to give me a reduced price for today’s appointment, he stated that he never said that despite my having shown him the notes I took about it, including the date. I put aside three precious business hours for the appointment today and arrived on time, as scheduled. Believe me, I tried everything to reason with him, including to compromise on the fee, but he was very rigid about the whole thing, finally admitting that he DOESN’T LIKE to do extractions (part of today’s procedures), although he recommended them and agreed to do so. His solution was to fire me as a patient. This after I said I believed that he truly forgot what he said and that, okay, I would pay the full price. It’s scary. He comes across as a nice guy but something strange, I don’t know what, seems to be hiding inside.

Dr Bajuscac is very professional, courteous and kind. He has a state-​of-​the-​art office, but his prices are usual and customary and they do take the Aetna discount program which really helps keep the costs down.
He goes above and beyond to make his patients feel comfortable and ultimately satisfied with the work they need done. His staff is very friendly, professional and fun as well, especially the front office person, Ali. She answers questions and schedules appointments with ease.
They all stand behind whatever dental care is needed and will go out of their way to make sure the patient is well taken care of. I have always hated dental care b/​c of a few past horrible experiences w/​unprofessional, uncaring providers and now am so happy to have found a dentist I can trust.

The whole staff at City Dental is so friendly and welcoming! And Dr. Bajuscak makes sure to take care of his patients. I never looked forward to my dental appointments, but I’ve gained a sense of ease after I started coming here.

Like most people I didn’t like going to the dentist. Well this office has changed that for me. The staff is super friendly and I want to hang around and talk to them. I am so happy to be going to a dentist that has all the coolest gadgets. This is a place where they are there to take care of their clients. I am so glad to have found a dentist that I can actually look forward to go to.

Portland has its fair share of dentists and its really a crap shoot when it comes to finding top notch care. My wife and I have had extensive work both cosmetic and regular care done so when we moved from San Fran to Portland we immediately began our search for a new dentist.
We were referred to Dr. Bajuscak (I think that’s how its spelled!) by a co worker of my husband so we paid city dental a visit.
Simply put: you will be hard pressed to find better quality care anywhere in Portland.
Super clean office, very very professional and helpful staff, and the level of care that we expected. Dr B is very friendly and provided us with the top quality care we were used to.
We recommend Dr B to all our friends!

I first came here while Dr. Calcagno was around, but she retired shortly after my first exam with her dental practice. At the time she suggested my lower wisdom teeth didn’t need to be removed, but with the arrival of Dr. Bajuscak, the opposite was suggested. After I had the top ones removed.
Ugh.
Not that it was Dr. Bajuscak’s fault or anything. He has been a great dentist and has seen me through multiple fillings. The cleaning by the staff here is pretty solid, as well. And don’t get me started on the view from their offices. I would love to clean teeth if I got to see that view everyday… that is, if I was a dentist.
I’ll be switching over to a new dentist soon due to insurance reasons, but I happily endorse Dr. Bajusack and the friendly, friendly staff here. They’re great.
Pro-​tip: They validate/​pay for the nearby parking garages, so save some time, money, and parking tickets if you do come here!

Just went in for my first cleaning in years and they did an amazing job!!! Chrissy, the dental hygienist was really nice and knew what she doing! The doc was really knowledgable and super nice! Loved the ladies in the reception area, they were really sweet and helpful! I am definitely going back!!!
