Cornerstone Learning is your go to math tutor, science tutor, SAT/​ACT tutor, geometry tutor and calculus tutor. We offer tutoring for K-​12. We are here to make sure that you or your child succeeds. We will go above and beyond to help you understand the material. We are experts when it comes to teaching students.

One of our priorities is to make sure that no student fails a course due to a lack of understanding. It is important that every student does well in their math and science classes. If you are struggling in one of these subjects then we are your go to source. If you don’t seek help then your lack of understanding will spiral out of control and continue to grow. Before you know it, in a few years, you will be extremely behind and possibly receiving failing grades. We know what it takes to pass subjects such as science and math. They are intimidating at first, but there is really nothing to them once you understand the underlying concepts. We are here to make sure that you understand all the important concepts involved. History

Established in 2011.

The founder, Daniel Ballard, has been tutoring for 7 years. He started as a teacher’s assistant in college, served in the Americorps ABLE program (Americorps Builds Lives Through Education) for 1.5 years, and has been tutoring in Portland and Beaverton for 4 years. He also has 2+ years coaching experience.

After completing a Pre-​Engineering degree, Daniel started tutoring Math and Physics students on the side while exploring career options. He valued the 1-​on-​1 interaction and the knowledge that he was making a difference in the students’ lives. Word of mouth spread, and he decided to try tutoring full-​time to reach more students.

Cornerstone now has a small group of qualified tutors and offers 1-​on-​1 tutoring, small group tutoring, and test prep seminars for ACT/​SAT.

Business Owner

Daniel is the founder of Cornerstone Learning. He tutors math and science students from middle school through college. He started tutoring in Portland in 2011. He tutors some students, provides educational expertise to families and students to help them meet their goals, and manages the team of tutors at Cornerstone Learning.
