Great shop, bit on the spend side. Bought my lock about a year ago and it seized up on me. Within 5 minutes they got it working just as good as new.

I ride and race bikes but know virtually nothing about them. Everyone at the shop was patient, taking the time to help build a bike within my budget that I can love for years. I’ve been debating between tri bikes and a new road bike but get a bit intimidated and overwhelmed. They helped talk me through the pros/​cons without trying to pressure me into any one (absurdly expensive) option.
One especially cool offering they have is «test saddles» so that I could be sure I’d be comfortable on long-​haul endurance training days. The deposit on the saddle is taken off the price which worked out well. I was out for a century ride on the new saddle and still love my bike so it was the right choice. Aaron also matched the fit from my old bike on the new one which took lots of extra time. I really appreciate that.
Plus, they have beer…

I’m a cycling enthusiast, but in no way could be considered knowledgeable about bikes. I have to admit, I’ve avoided going into Cyclepath for quite a while because I was intimidated by their reputation for really high quality parts and performance expertise. You know what? When I finally went in today, they made me feel welcome and not-​at-​all like an idiot when I completely blanked on the name of the part that I needed. Totally friendly and helpful — and yes indeed, they clearly know what they are doing. They even gave me a discount on the part! I am no longer afraid! I will be back!

Such a great bike shop!!! The staff are highly knowledgeable, kind, funny and give the best customer service! Custom builds to your liking and within your given budget. No pressure sales tactics and probably the most ethical, honest small business I have ever dealt with!

These guys are great. I had my bike built up by these guys and they took the time to explain everything to me. They’ve also helped me solve a mysterious hub problem which later occurred and then even explained the whole hub and how to service it. Thanks and keep up the amazing work.

Let me start by saying that I am a lifetime cyclist who hasn’t bought a bike for himself since 1990. I tend to build my bikes myself. I even build the wheels. But, this time I was going to see how everyone else does it.
I wanted a bike that was only carried by CyclePath in PDX (Niner) and so while they were a long ways away, I had to make the trek.
When I first went shopping, they didn’t interfere or try and upsell me or anything and they told the truth rather than just telling me what I wanted to hear.
Niner’s don’t come to the shop mostly assembled, the shop has to assemble them before they can be used. I can’t find a flaw in their assembly. The price was reasonable as well.
Six months down the road, I had a broken spoke and I also had broken the dérailleur hangar (my fault). They fixed the spoke under warranty and fixed the hangar and adjusted the shifting for a grand total of $ 24.00. I couldn’t have been happier.

I popped in to CyclePath recently to inquire about the Niner RLT. (I was wavering between that bike, and another brand that CyclePath doesn’t carry.) Although I ultimately went with Brand X, from another local shop, I must say I was very impressed with CyclePath. It was clear from the beginning that this was a shop by and for people who love to ride bikes and who appreciate quality. The guy I spoke with, Cody, was terrific. He really took time to listen to me ramble about my background, my current situation, and what exactly I was looking for. He then gave me tons of solid advice and answered my questions with patience and — sometimes rare for a bike shop — zero «attitude.» He understood that I was still in the research phase, so he gave me his card on my way out the door and told me to shout with any further questions. I won’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone I know who’s in the market for a bike. Especially one on the higher end.

I worked with Michael at CyclePath to get a custom pair of 27.5 MTB wheels built – he was a pleasure to work with both over e-​mail and in person. He is clearly very knowledgeable and was happy to give me his input on rims, spokes, nipples, and lacing pattern without pressuring me one way or another. There was an unfortunate mix-​up with the specs on the hubs that we realized after he built the wheels. Michael graciously agreed to rebuilt them at no charge, and they were ready the next day. I know it’s no fun for a wheelbuilder to redo a pair of otherwise perfect wheels but it made a big difference to me. I definitely recommend this shop for your custom wheel builds.

I was in the market for a new MTB and wanted something on the higher end. I (and most people) would be happy on a number of bikes from any shop in the Portland area. I think a lot of people make the mistake of only doing research on a bike and not any on the LBS they plan on buying from. The bike I chose was only half the decision. The other half was the fact I was buying from Cyclepath. These guys know how to treat people. They went above and beyond (way beyond) my expectations to get me on the trail ASAP. I’m about a month into ownership of my bike and they continue to treat me as a valued customer where some just take your money and leave you to dry when things go wrong. Do yourself a favor and check this shop out. Oh and they love to talk shop! They ride, enjoy talking about riding, and will spend whatever amount of time they can to get to know you and what you need.

I recently picked up a vintage Klein Performance frame that I wanted built up into a killer touring bike. The guys did not disappoint :)
They spent time talking me through a lot of options as I wanted this done right. We settled on Phil Wood bottom bracket, Chris King threaded headset, shimano 105 brakes/​derailieurs/​cassette, Dura Ace down tube shifters, SRAM brake levers and Apex crankset, DTswiss hubs and Mavi open pro rims.
I could not be happier with the whole experience and the final build is a joy to ride. I will share pictures in due course.
If you are looking for specialized service and knowledgable staff this is the place to go.

I just have to say I love this shop. In addition to the fact that it is filled with a ridiculous amount of sweet bikes the guys are cool, very knowledgeable, and totally willing to answer your questions. I did my first serious road bike build this year, and I headed down to Cyclepath for the bulk of the work (I live in Seattle). Thank you guys!

CyclePath is a wonderful shop. If you’re serious about mountain biking and cross this is the shop for you. The extremely knowledgable staff will get you rolling and out on the trails in no time. It’s important to know that Cyclepath is a higher end shop. You’re paying for quality here. Go in knowing that these bikes aren’t entry level bikes. These are bikes you can ride for a long time and be very happy doing so.
With so many bike shops in Portland it can be a bit overwhelming where to actually shop. These guys are not only wonderful people but really know their stuff too.
They’re active in the Portland Cycling community and just an all around great shop.
Bill and the boys helped me find a 29er full suspension mountain bike that has been fantastic. Like I said, Portland has so many shops. Almost to many choices. These guys are the read deal and I highly recommend supporting them.

When Cyclepath says custom bike love they mean it! If you are a cycle enthusiast you will start drooling as soon as you walk in the door. Although the shop is not big, it is packed to the brim with dreamy bikes and high quality products. Quality over quantity is a motto you can’t help but admire with this shop. You can tell Cyclepath takes great pride in their craft as their attention to detail is amazing. When it comes to customizing your bike build they have every part you need in just about every color you could ever want.
If you are like me, I need a little advice on the next bike part I am replacing or upgrading. There are so many options and reviews out there it is good to find advice you can trust. These guys know their stuff! Every time I go in they always steer me in the right direction with the product that I need, I have never felt that they are there to oversell or up-​sell me. AND I have never felt judged for not knowing a parts name or exactly what I needed… which is more than I can say for some other shops in town.
I have bought 2 bikes from this shop. With both purchase, the owner took time to fit me to the bikes and upgrade or swap out parts on the bike for better bike fit or my riding style. I have taken these same bikes back for service year after year, with the same attention to detail that they build bikes they will also fix your bike.

If you are in need of repair, custom building or clarity on a bike issue, CyclePath is the place. I have bought two bikes, three wheel sets and countless components, every single one has been exactly what i needed. The advice from the staff, is always spot on and matches your needs. There is only one shop in town that does not work for top line sales or a quota, CyclePath, they put you in the best possible position for your riding experience.

This is the best shop in town.

I bought a new cross bike yesterday from Cyclepath, and had a great experience both times I visited the shop. A friend of mine who rides for the shop’s racing team recommended them to me. I’m a longtime mountain biker but am completely new to cross/​road riding so I wasn’t quite sure what to look for. During my initial visit a few weeks ago, one of the staff spent a long time with me explaining the various options for bikes and components nd helped me better understand the differences and similarities between mountain bikes and cross bikes. He was super helpful without any sort of attitude, and didn’t push me to make a decision as I wasn’t quite ready to buy yet.
Afterwards I checked out a few other shops around town where I got less help and more attitude and condescension. Yesterday I decided to pull the trigger on a Scott bike and returned to Cyclepath. I took the bike out for a test ride, and took a spill after getting a stick caught in the spokes which banged up the bike a bit. When I got back and told the sales guy about it, his first question was not «How’s the bike?» but rather «Are you OK?». He also made a few adjustments to the bike that he said would help ease the transition from riding a mountain bike.
I would highly recommend this shop. They carry a lot of high-​end bikes and know their stuff, but they’re also down-​to-​earth enough to help a new rider like me get into a great bike. This will be my first stop when I’m shopping for my next bike.

Great service from great guys who’ve helped me become a pdx biker without feeling like a dumbass. Huge accomplishment, kudos and gratitude to them. They seem to be known for being quintessential biker guys but please check them out if you’re a newbie, too. They always tell me what I don’t need as well as what I do, with options. Friendly vibe. They seem to love being in the shop. Makes me love being there, too!

No doubt about it, these guys like bikes. I once brought them a hodgepodge of parts that I’d been acquiring for my weight weenie project bike. They did the build for me, and the attention to detail was outstanding. The word meticulous doesn’t seem adequate to describe the quality of their work.
The people there are great, although I did have one experience where one of the guys there was guilty of a bit of douchebaggery (hence the four stars). I needed to buy some wheels and tires after a crash. I wanted a specific tire but he pushed the brand’s top of the line, and kind of made me look like a cheapskate in front of some other customers. I’m a rec rider, not a racer. I don’t need to spend $ 150 on a pair of tires for chrissakes. Fortunately, the lovely woman behind the counter helped to offset the bit of humiliation I felt.
Aside from that experience, this is a great bike shop, especially if you’re looking for knowledgable staff and some high end gear. It’s one of the handful of shops that I’ll be looking at when I finally splurge on a high-​zoot bike.

A great, top shelf shop in NE Portland. The selection of Road, Cross and MTB rides is very well rounded, with nary a dud in the lot. I recently brought a cross bike in for a build and was very, very pleased with the result. Every ride is a treat, largely thanks to their work.
Cyclepath is a higher end shop with all the good trinkets. What sets them apart in my book is the care taken with the service. When they ran into some issues with my build they took the time to walk me through the situation and give me options. No pushing me to the higher end kit, just telling me what the deal was and that’s that.
