Dazzle

Really cute, one of a kind items– owner of the shop is very personable and fun to talk to.

Its listed as a gift shop but its mostly fabulously interesting clothing. Ever go to an art museum and see something you wish you could have? This shop carries a selection worthy of any art museum but its art you can afford and own. I love how they have one of each item on the floor so its not overstuffed with every size, just one piece. When you desire you inquire and poof! your size appears for trying on. The item is fresh, not shopworn and feels like the masterpiece it is. Genius idea for a clothing and accessory store. The owner is wonderful, the merchandise unique and gorgeous. I won’t look like the Macy’s sale rack (their stuff ALL goes on sale eventually) ever again. I live in Seattle but will be here every business trip down. I love looking elegant, sophisticated and yet unique. «Where do you FIND that’ is the compliment I get shopping at Dazzle. The collection is often updated and I say YES,

Love shopping here in their curated collections. I’ve been going here for years. Always something fun. I still have the first pair of over-​the-​top Sorrelli earrings from here that I’d never seen anything like since.
We had a wonderful time with their salesgirl (she was a Art History major, and really could/​should do something offering European tours). I bought the Fly London shoes in bronze metallic while we were there.

Tried to buy wife something saw in window.
Wife left two voice mail and finally got a return call. Was told owner said not to answer phones when customers are in store.
In any event they lost a sale.

This just happens to be the best clothing store in Portland! Faviana is the coolest ever! I have loved this store since the first time I discovered it. The fashions are extraordinary as well as the jewelry. Don’t miss this one if you are in the neighborhood.

I’ve been here many times with friends and we have had excellent service from a few young ladies who genuinely seemed interested in helping me out. They were friendly, bubbly, and generally very nice girls. HOWEVER. I went in today with my mother and was treated terribly. There was an older woman working there (short, chin-​length curly grey hair) who didn’t bother to greet us as we came in. I removed a hair clip from a rack sitting on the counter and turned to show it to my mother (I was excited because I’d bought one before and thought my mom should get one because they are great hair clips). The woman zoomed around the counter, snatched it out of my hands without a word, and replaced it on the rack. My mom inquired how much they were and the woman snapped «These are 12, these are 20.» She proceeded to ignore us for the rest of our visit, without asking us if we needed help or offering assistance in any way. I will not be returning to this store because of this woman.

I was shopping on NW 23^rd and decided to drop in the store as I have always noticed it on NW 23^rd. First of all, no one greeted me when I walked in, but both ladies looked in my direction and were chit chatting together behind front counter. (It’s a very small shop). Then they both fawned over two older customers who came in after me, even though it was obvious I needed help… I was looking at them waiting for a lull in their conversation. I am 47 year old, so I probably fit within the target age of their customer. I was so taken aback by the rude sales lady behind the from counter, maybe the owner? After trying on a three items, I had planned to buy a dress if they had a smaller size. But I couldn’t get their attention to come over to dressing stall. Finally I got completely dressed, deciding to just not bother them in getting another size. When I walked up to the counter to compliment them on the clothing styles, mentioning it looked a litlle another cool shop in Multnomah Village (I mentioned the other shop by name) — they looked at me and actually shrugged. Older sales woman said, «huh? oh she shops here» then turned away” when I responded with «oh, she (name of woman) does?» The older sales woman said «yeah, probably.» I have honestly never felt so dismissed both in being ignored as a customer and then dismissive when she graced me with a sentence. I will NEVER go back and definitely discourage others from pat toning the shop.

Four or so years later I decided to return, looking for a pretty dress. I walked in and thumbed through the dresses, only to find very small sizes on the racks. As I left I mentioned to them that they didn’t have anything in my size and they actually said they don’t keep the larger sizes on the racks, that you have to ASK them and then they’ll get it out. How incredibly offensive to not keep a size run out — I don’t care how small your shop is, that’s just poor form.
Then another lady working there was actually visually offended that I didn’t like a style that she was insisting I try on. And finally, getting sniffed in the arse by their giant poodle is not something I want while I’m shopping (and I love dogs — but not while I’m trying to shop for an important occasion).
No more chances. I won’t be returning.

They get four stars for their cool clothes, but customer service is very mixed. Some of the salespeople are friendly, and some are pretty aloof and unpleasant.

When ever I come to my favorite city, Portland, I love to shop & just hang out on NW23rd I can always find a treasure or two, and a great bite to eat as well. Dazzle is one of the shops I always like to check out. Honestly, the clothes are just ok, not really to my liking, but what keeps bringing me back is their unique selection of earrings. I like to buy a pair or two each time. Like pieces of art each one is very different, like nothing you can buy at the department stores. Like the city of Portland, Dazzle is unique & different, in a very good way, indeed.

I have been searching for a local shop for lagenlook style clothing in Portland and was thrilled to discover Dazzle. They have many cute artsy and elegant options for that European layering style I love. Now I won’t have to get all my clothes on-​line! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the clothing was quite affordable compared to the on-​line options. They even had things for plus sizes! Yay! I will be back. lov!

I live in Seattle and was visiting Portland a couple weeks ago. I was so happy to run across Dazzle. I thought the clothing selection was great: something for a wide variety of sizes and ages, and a lot of fun, funky stuff. The prices were reasonable for the merchandise selection and quality, and the person who helped me was just great. She was not at all pushy – just very nice and helpful. I will make it a point to return to Dazzle on my next trip to Portland.

Let’s start by saying terrible!
I have been in this store several times over the years. I my self am a clothing store owner. I am just plain disturbed by the the snobbery I the owner and employees. The golden rule of any business is to be kind to people no matter whT they look like! You never know who the person is nor does it matter! I will never shop at this store and I will tell my customers to stay far away also. No person deserves to be treated beneath anyone. I am sad that you are on my beloved 23^rd because you make the energy of the street unwelcoming. If I ever make it in there again I will tell you to your faces how I feel I promise.
If you want to improve your sales be kind. Life is short and you are equal to every one else!

Lots of Cute Hipster Lady clothes. Maybe a little Pricey. Customer service not so Genuine.

Loads of stuff packed into it’s little location.
I could really spend A LOT of time here. The staff kinda HOVERS like you’re gonna jack stuff!!! Very sad. Makes me feel like I need to hurry up.
Lots of very neat clothes, scarves, hats, gloves. You get it?
Their jewelry is very artsy and fun.
I recently bought some earrings for some friends.
Thankfully for them, I’m not easily intimidated.
I’ll be back, for sure. :D

I just discovered Dazzle a few weeks ago. I loved my experience, and Lisa is just the best. She helped me find things that were wonderfully suited to me and went out of her way to do me several kindnesses. Plus her energy and delight in life are happiness-​making. She is wonderful – and my whole experiences there have been wonderful. It’s an eye-​candy kind of place too – lots of inventive stuff. Very fun. Love it.

I must say, I am surprised that Dazzle only rates 3 stars on Unilocal.This is my new find and a new fave in Portland.
Dazzle has an amazing collection of jewelry, handcrafted by artisans both local to the NW as well as around the world. Prices range from about $ 10-​$ 100 depending on the piece. I got a very unique ring for $ 18. They sell clothes, handbags, and other odds-​and-​ends, a great store for an hour of browsing.
The salesperson was very helpful and friendly and nice to chat with, knowledgeable about the artisans, which I appreciate.

This may not be a fair post since I’ve only been in once and didn’t even buy anything, but I thought it was a little expensive. The sales girl was nice and I tried on a dress that I really liked, but was told that only one per size was ordered. Rather than take a chance on it being gone in a few weeks when I was ready to buy it, I went somewhere else and found something just as great for half the price.

I have very little in common with Audrey Hepburn.
For one thing, home-​girl is the size of a toothpick. But also, she is the picture of grace and elegance.
What I do have in common with her, is this.

and in the morning when i walk up to 23^rd with my hair all sleepyfied to get a bagel and some coffee,
I will stand in front of the window to this little shop and covet the cool trinkets.
This is my breakfast at Tiffany’s.
I’ve been in before on a busy Saturday right around Christmastime.
I bought a roll of ADMIT ONE tickets that said «Wish» on them.
They came with a little card that read «If I had 100 wishes, I’d give them all to you.»
Which I found to be cool and oddly touching so I gave it to my mom for Xmas.
So yes. Sometimes in the grey Portland mornings, I can be found standing outside this weird yet lovely little shop, drinking my coffee and eyeing all the pretty things.
Oddly shaped wine glasses, lanterns, hats, candles, umbrellas that look like Paris, old clocks.
Not sure if all of it is really my style, but there are bits and pieces that I love.
I drink my coffee and bite my bagel.
Cream cheese on my nose and coffee in my belly.
No… I am definitely not Audrey Hepburn.
But I think she’d approve of this place.

I feel a bit guilty for confessing I’ve never made a purchase here, since I seem to pop in frequently to ooh and ahh over Dazzle’s latest collection of trinkets, gifts, baubles and accessories.
The selection at Dazzle goes way beyond the basics, and features quality items such as handcrafted jewelry, designer shoes, elegant home décor, handmade soaps, perfume… and soooo many other things. Stop in when you have time to browse and bring that credit card with the highest limit, as the prices at Dazzle are pretty steep!

When we walked into Dazzle — we were taken in by the yummy smells and fun stuff to look at. Dazzle has a wide range of fun higher-​end gift items — like wine glasses with monkeys on them, a whole rack of headbands (who knew these were so back in style), one of a kind clothing and a huge selection of jewelry.
The lady who was working behind the counter was extremely friendly and helpful … she wasn’t quite pushy … but almost bordered on it. I figured she was the owner and VERY excited to be there. We were intrigued … but left without making a purchase.
We walked up and down 23^rd and actually went back to Dazzle because they have this stuff that turns your bath water into gel and holds it’s warmth for up to 2 hours … very interesting. I had to have some for my mom (who loves a good bath). There was a different lady behind the counter who was equally helpful as the first … perhaps another owner? If not — I want to work there so I can enjoy MY job that much!
Side-​note: there was a homeless guy in the shop when we first walked in who was waving his hand in front of his face saying «this place stinks!» I thought that was hilarious … as the store scents actually covered his stench. heh.
Anywho — I digress.
I liked this place — will keep it in mind for future gift purchase. The only thing I will say is that their prices are a little steep. Perhaps only for my GOOD friends. heh
