Specialties
Jo Rotisserie & Bar features great food coming out of our wood burning oven and rotisserie that were among the first in Portland. Jo Rotisserie & Bar uses exclusively fire fueled by northwest fruit and hardwoods to create eclectic bistro fare that pairs with craft cocktails, a curated list of hard to find boutique liquors, and an outstanding wine list. Live music every Wednesday & Sunday evenings beginning at 6:30.
Taken from Haydn’s middle name Josef, Jo Rotisserie & Bar is named after our next door restaurant, Papa Haydn.
History
Established in 1994.
After traveling to Italy and Greece in the summer of 1993, owners of Portland landmark restaurant Papa Haydn, Evelyn Franz & Michael Gibbons decided to forego expanding Papa Haydn even further down Northwest Portland’s 23rd avenue and instead opened Jo Rotisserie & Bar to reflect their love of good food prepared simply. The wood burning oven and rotisserie at Jo Bar were among Portland’s first and they are exclusively fired by local fruitwood and hardwood. The local bounty of produce, meats and fish that come out of the kitchen are matched by handcrafted cocktails, curated list of hard to find boutique liquors, and a small but outstanding wine list.
