Small Plates of Food

Old World Wines, France, Italy, Spain, Germany.

History

Established in 2011.

The idea for Taste was conceived in 2009 as we began looking for a venue to create a bottle shop specializing in old world wines from France, Italy, Spain, and Germany. While scouting for a space a chance conversation with an acquaintance led to the decision to expand the idea in to a bottle shop and wine bar serving small plates of food. For the next 18 months the search continued until July of 2011 when our existing location became available. We opened in November of that year.

Our goal then, as now, is to provide interesting wine and food pairings with a knowledgeable staff providing a high level of service. This effort has been rewarded with positive reviews from both The Oregonian and Portland Monthly Magazine and we enjoy a 4.5 rating on Yelp.

Lots of people have contributed to the success of Taste. Each, in their individual way, has helped us meet the standard that «the only thing we overlook is N.W. 23rd Avenue.»
