I am from NY and have been living in Los Angeles for 7 years, so I am REALLY picky about nail salons. THIS IS HIGHLY recommended and I’ve gone about 6 times since I’m in town for business. The massage chairs are AMAZING and they do remember who you are and fit you right in.
I got a set to fix my horribly short nails and now they are grown out and I have gels. They look natural and have great colors.
I do recommend an appointment.

I really wanted to like this place because it is close to home and never super busy, but I’ve been here twice for pedicures and both have been horrible.
The first time the gal was so rough I thought I was gonna be hurt. The second time a different gal DID hurt me when she filed the SKIN on the back of my toe! Then she yelled at me for touching the cuticle remover she had put on my foot because it could «burn my finger.» Well after u filed my skin, cuticle removed is the least of my concerns.
Not going back.

Love the convenience of this store, literally two blocks from my house. Ive always had a good experience here. Trina takes such good care of me whenever I go. Been there about 5 times total since they’ve been open (over a year) and Trina remembers my car! How awesome is that?! The heated rice bags for your neck and being able to wait in the massage chairs instead of up front is fantastic. and they ALWAYS have time for you, no matter what. LOVE this place.

Cute & clean place with convenient parking right in front. I had a pedicure by Cathy, she’s very sweet and did a great job. It included a tangerine scrub that smelled really good and a short rock massage. Ok selection of polishes. I called for an appointment with Cathy on recommendation from a friend and she was able to see me same day, actually within 10 minutes! I was happy about that, I’ll definitely come back!

I was a customer since they had opened, not every week or anything, but I did not go to any other nail salon, this last time, I was surprised to know that the price at the end was more and they charged any time before, they charged $ 8.00 for poke-​a-​dots on my daughters manicure, little dots, last time she had flowers painted on two fingers and I was only charged $ 2.00 more, I know it was slow when we went in, but this was too much for little dots, without any warning that it was extra, they were the ones who recommended the dots, but never said it would be $ 8.00 more.
Very disappointed!
The owner was sitting right there and walked away when I said I was shocked at the $ 8.00, I paid and tipped and I will not be returning or referring anyone there.
I had referred several of my neighbors there, and they are regular nail salon goers.
It’s too bad they were really convenient for me, and I had enjoyed going in before this.

VERY IMPRESSED. I was looking for a salon that filled liquid gels nails. There aren’t a lot of places that do that out here. I understand because it takes longer to do them. However, that didn’t stop Kristin. She was a beast. I walked in and got in her chair right away (it was a little slow today). I showed her a picture on Pinterest that I liked and with a few modifications she was able to deliver. She was nice, polite, and (while she didn’t speak great English) was able to communicate enough to give me what I wanted. The prices were reasonable and what I expected for the product and service. I plan on going back in 2 weeks when I need another refill. Who knows maybe a pedicure too…

Very good pedicure! The pedicure was $ 25. Very happy that I came here over my first stop at a different salon nearby. My pedicure included a hot stone message. What a great touch! I plan on making this my new go to. Hopefully when I decide to get a manicure, it’s just as amazing! Thank you so much Essence Nails!

Great Salon, great service, amazing staff!
Trina almost always does my nails here. The service is great and I love their pedicures with the hot stone massage. It’s a great atmosphere and by far the best nail salon around!

By far, hands down, the BEST nail salon in the Portland Metro area.
I’ve had my mani/​pedis from Tina, Tony and one other person there. The quality of work has been superb each time. No nicks and cuts on my cuticles, long, soothing massages, perfectly painted nails every time.
They have close to 100 colors to choose from in the Shellac/​Gelish polish color wheel. The most I’ve ever seen in one place.
The salon is CLEAN. Every time I’ve been there someone is sweeping and scrubbing the basins, tables, and floors.
They have stayed open up to an hour passed closing time for me on at least three occasions when I simply called and asked if they could squeeze me in.
I absolutely love the service, quality, and value, owner, and staff at this salon.
