if you don’t want to stay at a non caring… broken window in your room. unable to reach the front desk via your room’s phone and be told you can’t have room service. …oh and if you don’t want to absolutely ruin your clean socks on your assigned room… do your self a favor and don’t stay at this property!
(the front desk girls will talk poorly about you just as you’re turning the hallway corner to find out what the hell is wrong with the assigned room they gave you while i was on my cell phone calling the exact same front desk… they were just standing there gossiping and letting the motels business phone ring !)

This place is underrated. The rooms were really clean and cozy. Wifi fast. Service was good. Warm and friendly folks here.

I have stayed at this hotel twice now… Never again.
We made a reservation at 1:30pm on Priceline. We drove hours and arrived at 5pm. When we arrived, the reservation «didn’t go through yet» and they made us wait an hour. We ended up calling Priceline — who called the front desk — and gave them funds so we could finally settle in. THEN, for some reason, they charged us twice.
Everything is out dated. Our non-​smoking room reeked of cigarettes. Ice machine was broken. Front desk was rude (hung up on me when I called) and slow. Indoor pool was okay but odd shaped.

Got a great deal on a room here; by no means is it the ritz but it was a nice place for what we paid. Clean, friendly staff, nice amenities, no hassles. About a ¹⁵⁄₂₀ minute drive to downtown Portland. I’d stay again!

Well below average. Staff not terribly helpful and unprofessional. Décor dated — hotel needs updating.

Terrible stay, room smells like mold, pubic hair on the bathroom floor, and the wall paper is peeling of the wall. We cut our stay short, terrible value.

Decent stay. Left my computer bag behind, and staff called me to let me know. Overall experience was average. Great value.

This hotel is really dated, the carpet is old and dirty, and the vibe is just old. The rooms are decently sized and the beds are comfortable enough, but they’re just outdated and ugly. The restaurant at the hotel is a bar and it does not have a welcoming feel at all. The service at the front desk is pretty unwelcoming.

The room was clean and the beds were new. My husband enjoyed the pool. We paid close to $ 200 for a room with 3 people and 1 dog. I thought this was an OK value. The location is not that close to downtown Portland (15 min drive), but convenient to I-​95. No one offered us any whoopee pies though.

Yes there are Keurigs in the room. However, the carpeting in the hallways is filthy, the wallpaper in the room is peeling and the help behind the check in desk is about 21 and doesn’t understand why I wouldn’t want to feed my child in a bar. Never again!

Stayed at this hotel on business. First room I was given was on first floor, window would not shut all the way nor would it shut. Was then moved to a different room where it was the opposite window wouldn’t unlock or open. Married to a firefighter and this is a major safety hazard. TV in the room was older than me, Hello! It’s 2015, time for an upgrade and for $ 100 a night having a safe room isn’t too much to ask! I give one star for the free whoopie pie I was give upon checking in, other than that I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Way better options around for same amount of money.

I’ve never booked a hotel room on one of those discount websites and I will never do so again. We found this gem on Priceline for roughly $ 115/​night. It was convenient to use the booking site because we were traveling with about 20 – 25 friends and family.
We received a whoopie pie upon check-​in and it was delicious. The lobby was clean and the staff was pleasant and accommodating. We originally booked a king room but changed to two queens since we were traveling with small children. The complex was quite large and we navigated a maze to find our room. We were on the backside of the complex, near the dumpsters and grease traps from the restaurant so we were greeted by a delightful trashy skunk smell when entering the building. We made our way to our room which was at the top of a staircase. Surprisingly, things were quiet all night.
Our room underwhelmed us. The beds were a bit snug for queens so I’m guessing they were actually full-​sized. The AC unit struggled to pump out cool air. Thankfully it was late summer so we didn’t need it to be crisp to sleep comfortably. The AC also had a distinct and slightly offensive smell. The room was dark, damp, musty, and unappealing. The bathroom was relatively clean but ignorance is bliss. Luckily my wife travels with industrial strength Lysol and hospital grade Clorox.
After settling in we threw on our bathing suits and took a dip in an indoor pool. We thought it would be warmer than the outdoor pool but were we wrong! It was chilly. We later made our way to the outdoor pool which was as warm as bath water (it was heated). It was tough to get the kids out.
Overall, the room and hotel served its purpose. On a closing note, ask the front desk where the complimentary breakfast is. No one in our party was able to locate it, despite it being advertised. Eventually after some coaxing, they were able to convince the staff to show them where to head. We just hit up the Shaw’s grocery store across the street for cold water and fresh fruit. I won’t be staying here again if I’m in the Portland area.

Definitely not a 3 star hotel, The rating is misleading! This place is awful!
We arrived to a nice looking but oddly laid out lobby. The staff was nice but busy and overwhelmed. We checked in and were given complimentary whoopie pies. (That was the highlight of the stay).
Our room was on the second floor, with hallways that looked like they were from The Shining. With Old, outdated, dirty carpets lining the hallways.
We had a number of friends stay in a few other rooms on the first floor as well. All of their rooms smelled musty and gross. Ours didn’t smell but the décor in all the rooms was old and outdated. Rugs were dirty and pulling up. Our room looked as if the linens had been changed but the rest of the room was filthy. We couldn’t find any working outlets (they even had a special power strip on the nightstand with 2 USB ports and 3 regular outlets That didn’t work. One of the lamps was unplugged so we looked for an outlet behind the bed… BIG MISTAKE there were a bunch of old crumpled up tissues back there and who knows what else. Behind one nightstand were feathers and pieces of tissues.
It would be one thing if only our room was like this but all our friends rooms were dirty old and outdated as well. With peeling pant, peeling wallpaper borders at the top of the walls and patched peeling ceilings. All of the bathrooms were also outdated and dirty. With cheap flimsy toilet seats and peeling caulking around the tubs. Some rooms had newer flat screen tv’s but most others had old crappy tv’s.
This hotel is not worth the money. At least we booked it on priceline and got what we thought was a reasonable price when we booked it ($ 110). You could stay at a crappy motel for cheaper that would be more clean and updated than this place.
If you’re looking for a decent place to stay, stay at the Double Tree or the Holiday Inn in South Portland, they are much more clean and more updated.

I have stated several fireside ends and this particular one is the worst to start off my first room smells like dog food and had urine stains dried all over the toilet seat yuk! I’ve been moved to the second room which was okay except for the fact that midway through the night the a/​c broke and kept me awake they did come to repair it later on that day and so that night was much more comfortable, but asked me to move rooms again and which point I refused to move rooms again so that’s the reason that they actually replaced the AC unit. So for dinner on the second night I tried a site Sarah salad with ranch the if tips and teriyaki large order and when I received my food the salad in the beef tips all came out exactly the same time so I turned salad back in as I did not get a chance to eat that before the beef tips.
George beef tips was to me very dainty they were overly coded in teriyaki sauce and they were not cooked to the temperature of medium in which I asked for I must say that this is probably the worst experience that I’ve had in a while in a hotel from all ends of the business and I will not be returning to this location.

Gross. The average rating is misleading.
I booked this hotel on Hotwire and ended up in a room with unchanged linens, hair in the bed, water damage all over, a peeling ceiling, counters installed at about knee height and a shower that wouldn’t drain. For over $ 150 a night you’d expect some minimal upkeep. The front desk couldn’t care less and refused to switch our room.
I think this used to be a Holiday Inn. I can see why they took their name off it.

After a long night of driving I was worried we wouldn’t make it here
We arrived at 2am and the lobby looked promising, very clean and spacious
My friend Mike fixed us up with room and board for the night
We both entered to check in — weary and disheveled
The attendant was less than cheerful when he informed Mike — «I don’t see your name anywhere»
My friend Mike assured the attendant that he make the reservations a week ago!
We asked for a computer to print out the reservation and at first the attendant was reluctant «we don’t have a computer for you to use»
He changed his mind (maybe because my friend is over 7 feet tall) and Allowed us to use the guest computer
Mike went in and came out a few minutes later — «wrong motel, I made reservations Motel 6»
I started laughing and Mike (in a serious tone) said «never tell anyone about this, not a word, never ever tell anyone about this»

We pulled up and walked into a very nice lobby area –and that is where the positive experience ended. I had been looking forward to the whoopie pie we were to be welcomed with only to find they didn’t get them in that day. At check in, burdened down with our luggage, we were directed to the proper door– which was an outdoor entrance we had to drive around to. Then we actually had to climb a set of stairs with all of our luggage before we could reach our room. Wow, that was a surprise. There was no elevator nearby we were told. There was no mention of that on the website or during the reservation process.
Our room, although it appeared clean at first glance, was actually quite filthy. I had to reach behind the fridge to unplug it due to the noise it was making and saw that it probably had not been cleaned in at least a year. Very disgusting. Then I found out my lamp was unplugged and had to move nightstand to plug it in, where I was met with a plug setup that frightened me it was so old and loose. Oh– and it was filthy too– see photos I posted.
After a few minutes in the room I noticed it smelled like a locker room. It was so wretched that we had to open the window even though it was in the low 50’s outside. I put our luggage on the bathroom counter to keep it from picking up the foul odor. The place is in desperate need of a renovation-​see the photos I posted.
The very bright star of this place is the amazing staff. Each person I dealt with was nicer than the next. Friendly, helpful, cheerful, warm. Kind of made me wish they would employee– own the place. Then it would be great, I am sure. Also on the plus side was the K– Cup brewer, but, unfortunately they left us no coffee cups.

If you are looking for a decent place to stay close to downtown with some amenities, I recommend this inn. We only stopped on for the night so I cannot comment on everything they offer. The room was small but the beds were comfortable. There was a charging station in the room which was convenient. No stereo but the TV was decent. Plus a Keurig coffeemaker which was a big step up from the crap coffee one normally gets in a room. There was a nice size pool that was well heated. What really impressed me was the fitness center, which had more machines than some 4-​star hotels I have stayed at, plus a good hot tub and dry sauna. One tip: turn on the timer on the sauna before beginning exercise so it is well heated when you step in.

Most unhelpful front desk I’ve ever encountered.
Why do hotels still have smoking rooms? And then force them on non smoking customers with asthma?
I reserved a non smoking room and was given a smoking room and told I was lucky to have a room in Portland that weekend — needless to say my reservation was made four months in advance
