Specialties

Featuring German specialties like sauerbraten (marinated roast beef), kraut roulade (cabbage rolls) and wiener schnitzel (veal cutlet). Other popular options are Rotisserie meats, Pacific NW fish, salads and sandwiches. Northwest products like Carlton Farms pork, Draper Valley Chicken and while not local, Harris Ranch beef are featured meats. All but one dessert is made in house with recent new comers, Chocolate Lovers Flourless Cake and English Sticky Toffee Pudding showing up as new guest favorites (Our Head Chef is from England so you will see things like Sticky Toffee Pudding and Shepherd’s Pie on the menu.)

Full bar with cocktails, imported and local wines and a varied beer selection round out the dining experience.

Meet the Business Owner

Suzeanne M.

Business Owner

Suzeanne’s family has a long history in the restaurant business. Her father is a fifth generation European trained chef who immigrated from Germany, coming to Portland in 1959, and in 1963 opened the Rheinlander Restaurant. Her grandfather, great uncle and other family members were chefs and restaurant owners in Germany and the US. Suzeanne started working in the restaurant in a variety of roles at 10. She is passionate about cooking, people and creating a great experience for guests and employees/​team members.
