History

Established in 1995.

We bought a hardware store that was going out of business in 1995. In 2000 with the help of the neighborhood we moved into the building that we are in today. It’s only 2800 sq. ft. but we fill it up. The garden in the front is being redone to become an urban garden. We removed alot of the flowers and are replacing them with fruit and eventually a vegetable garden.

I have worked in hardware for over 40 years. I love the business and I love the people who do their own repairs. Along with my husband, I have built a house and remodeled a couple houses. I learned not only from my own experiences but from the experiences of others. Living and working in the Ladd’s Addition has been an amazing life. All the old houses need alot of love and attention, it’s a great place for a hardware store. In 1998 my husband retired from his job at Crown Zellerbach and we bought him the building Weimers’ Hardware used to be in. It’s been great to see all the changes that N.E. Portland has went through and yet another great place for a hardware store. My husband has retired but chances are I’ll be around for years to come.
