Obsessed with this adorable new salon AND with my incredible stylist Haley. I’ve been coming to see her for years now, and she is truly a master of her craft. Several times a year, I see her for a major makeover (in between monthly maintenance) and she always executes with such style and precision. I’m lucky to go from dark to blonde to red to an on-​point balayage and back again with NO unfortunate brassy phases in between. She takes her time to tone my hair and really dial in the right shade for my skin tone. Haley always takes care of the health of my locks as well, treating it when necessary and reigning in my crazy ideas when I try to push it too far. I always walk away feeling beautiful AND feeling really listened to. Plus we have a great time! I feel so lucky!
As for the salon, it has such a welcoming relaxed vibe. They carry great products (r+co), have an easy parking situation and are all on point with their personal styles and warm personalities. It’s easy to feel at home here. (and like you are a stunning hot babe in a hip salon)
Do yourself a favor and come see these girls for great hair.

I can’t recommend CHER enough! I have been wandering aimlessly through Portland for years looking for the right stylist. Then along came this miracle worker. I must add that I have been working to grow my hair out from a pixie (we all know how painful that can be!), but Cher has made it a breeze. I have never liked the way my hair looks while it goes through each difficult stage of grow out, but she has somehow made it possible for me to be happy with it the entire time. Really, I wouldn’t go anywhere or to anyone else.

The perfect cut every damn time. I don’t know how they do it. And they have great taste in music too! I love their new space and always feel relaxed and at home when I come in for a cut. Highly recommended!

I’ve been going to Jasmin for nearly 10 years. She is knowledgable and confident but as sweet as can be! Over the years I’ve explored many different colors and styles and Jasmin always seems to get it just right.
Not to mention it is often 2 hours of my life I spend in that chair and it never feels awkward or rushed. I always look forward to the entire experience! Salon James makes me feel like a rockstar– its modern and sexy, yet approachable and very welcoming. I highly recommend the expertise at Salon James.

Lindsey alway’s fits me in when I’m in town. Her hair cutting and coloring is the best in 48 states. I was in the shop September 17^th and stayed for the Grand opening. Lindsey and Jasmine really know how to through a party. James is a lovely shop.

I’ve been a long time client of Lindsey Avenetti’s and have referred many friends over to her who have also had very positive experiences. Lindsey is fantastic at translating my poor descriptions of what I’d like for a style and turning it into something beautiful. She has taken me through some drastic color changes and I have complete trust in her to not only understand what I’m looking for but also execute it beyond my best expectations. Her new salon is gorgeous, relaxing, and convenient. It’s refreshing to have a stylist that helps solicit continuous compliments on your hair color and style. I had no idea what to do with my luxurious mop of hair, which I usually just tuck under a hat and go. But, Lindsey had a vision for my dome and gave it the tender loving care that only someone with her skills could. I threw the hat away when I got home (okay, tossed it in the closet) and can look myself proudly in the mirror once again without feeling like an increasingly sad man-​child. Lindsay has been my stylist for nearly 5 years now. I’ve followed her since her days at Grace/​Mada and sent many of my friends and family to her for service I like to have very natural looking blonde highlights – an effortless look like I never have to get my hair done, and she executes perfectly.
