Description

Specialties

We specialize in good food and large portions at an affordable price. We have a variety of classic deli sandwiches, salads big enough for a meal, fresh soups, one of the best burgers in town, and breakfast served all day. Our most popular item is the pastrami reuben, over half a pound of house-made smoked and cured beef dripping with swiss and russian dressing, topped with kraut, and grilled on rye. We have a soup/salad and sanwich lunch special for $ 8.50 and a 3 course dinner for only $ 12.50. We make all our own breads and desserts, too!

History

Established in 2006.

Started as Pastrami King at the Hillsdale Farmers Market, then moved to Ken’s Place, serving brunch on Saturdays with a menu similar to the current one. In October 2007, opened at SW 11th & Stark in the Ace Hotel building. Immediately had lines out the door, which only continued with positive reviews in the Oregonian, Willamette Week, Portland Tribune, Portland Monthly, Portland Mercury, and even a nod as one of the top 10 sandwich shops in the country in Bön Appetit.
