While not a Key customer, the teller was prompt, friendly and seemed competent. On a Saturday, only the branch manager and a teller were working.
Key does seem like a good choice of the «big» banks and are opening more branches in Portland.
My employer is in a building owned by Key so we can open an account with complimentary extras.

In general, I don’t like banks. They’re stale, impersonal, and often predatory. This review isn’t about banking itself, it is about the Sellwood Branch specifically. Wells Fargo was the only show in Sellwood for a long while, and they were terrible. When Key opened a few blocks from my home, I transferred with great efficiency. The bank manager personally assisted me. Mostly I like that they greet me by name. I don’t know how it is but when I arrive I’m often the only customer inside. They give me the royal treatment, from all directions I hear salutations and cheer. In terms of a neighborhood bank branch, Key bank does a good job.

This is what I love about my Key Bank! I have one personal and two business checking accounts at Key Bank and the three debit cards all look exactly the same. Like an idiot, I accidentally used the wrong one in a series of transactions that ended up bumping an account into the red. I had no idea I was doing that! The way I found out is that I received a friendly call from Cheryl at the Sellwood Branch to let me know I had popped up on her screen as an alert. At first, I was all defensive and then when I went online I was abashedly aware of what I had done. I immediately transferred money to the account to make sure all was covered, but I braced myself for the overdraft fees sure to come. I checked online the next day and found that, sure enough, I had been hit with about four overdraft fees of $ 32 each. Ouch! However, everyone one of them had been credited back to me. So, apart from a few extra steps in the bookkeeping department, I am out of a little mess that I was not even aware I had gotten myself into, had it not been for Cheryl and Key Bank. That is some awesome customer service!
