Yummy burritos and tacos. Solid choice after a late night drinking in this area. The burrito is only $ 6 and its massive ! Excellent choice

lazy enough to give them another try instead of going another block to the far superior tito’s burritos — and i regret the money i wasted! simple chicken tacos are hard to fuck up, but the best way is to have fatty & flavorless meat with old cilantro & onion garnish. even the weak salsa verde didn’t help! if they didn’t have such a great location, this place would not be around

By far my favorite burrito cart in Portland. And I’ve tried at least 10 different mexican carts!

Super cheap and delicious burritos, with amazing avocado sauce! The workers here are always really friendly. I used to come here all the time when I was a student at PSU. I miss this place!

It’s pretty good. 5 $ is a fair price for a burrito/​burrito bowl. You can tell some ingredients are canned.

I decided to venture out of my typical Chopollos/Tito’s rotation and try out one of La Casita’s vegetarian options. They are the only place I’ve seen around here that offers veggie meat! I went with the veggie pastor, made from marinated soy meat. If you’re picturing soy curls that is not what this is. The burrito was large and definitely filling but had some flaws compared to other carts. Namely, the ingredients don’t taste ‘authentic’. The cheese is yellow, and the rice seemed water logged, or rather like the kinda of rice I could make at home (which is to say not good). This burrito was definitely more flavorful that some of the other veggie options I’ve had in the area and I was a fan of the soy meat. Burritos run ~$ 5, they have 5 veggie options– soy meat, tofu, veggies, and rice + beans.

Wife loved the veggie bowl daughter loved the asada bowl and I loved the asada burrito and the al pastor taco was ok. Meat was tender and portions were decent. Well eat here again when in the area.

Burritos are huge. Everything is delicious and the lady at the register always has a smile on her face. Perfect for when you’re stuck on campus throughout the day

Burritos are huge and come stuffed with a lot of ingredients. I can only eat half of one. Haven’t tried the tacos, but I see lots of other customers ordering them and enjoying them. It’s a great value for the price, and it’s conveniently located right next to PSU. Always busy for lunch, but worth the wait! Staff is friendly!

I ate their burritos for a week. It would have been longer except I physically couldn’t do it. I couldn’t digest their amazing steak burritos fast enough. So I must limit myself to one a day. It’s been working so far.
There are two communal tables outside. They don’t do tip on card unless you ask them to before they swipe. But they do have a jaw for cash tips. On the side of the cart, they have sauce and guac. There’s to-​go containers if you want.
Pretty gosh darn good food, if you ask me. I literally go here everyday.

La Casita brings a taste of Mexico to Portland. Their cart near Portland State University is at a fine location adjacent to a parking garage. The menu consists of tacos, burritos and tortas and drinks mostly.
I have been a few times and the line is usually short. My favorite food to order is the carnitas, or pork, tortas. The last time I went, it came in five minutes.
The bread is crunchy. The meat was fairly tender and I liked the ingredient assortment. Sour cream, cheese and other foods complemented the meat. They really did put some effort into creating a good sandwich and it was only $ 5.
La Casita is a good choice for your next lunch break.

Tacos are cheap which is perfect for the location because it’s within a block of PSU!
However, the tacos are okay. Nothing too special. The carne asada was on the dry side, flavorful but dry. The al pastor wasn’t as sweet as I expected it to be, but it definitely was more juicy than the asada!
I like that they have somewhat of a salsa bar, but the salsas weren’t all that great.
Anywho, I would come back just because of the prices and location! Need to find a better taco spot in PDX for my cravings :)

I love them. The food is always hot and fresh. Pretty authentic, but best of all cheap without compromising quality and taste. Tons of vegetarian options, which is always nice and sometimes hard to find in cheap Mexican food. The ladies working the cart are just so nice, it’s very refreshing. I want them to be wildly successful, but I also enjoy how quickly my food comes out, so I’m hesitant to spread the word. But they’re so great I can’t help it. I would skip through the streets singing about it if I didn’t have a belly full of rice and beans.

La Casita is a hidden gem of a food cart that sits conveniently on the east side of the PSU campus. Carnitas tacos are my favorite, although there are also tacos with chicken and carne asada, served street style, with onions, cilantro, and a lime. The tacos are only $ 1.00 each, which is perhaps the biggest selling point. Burritos are also above par, particularly the breakfast with bacon, or grilled tofu. The options here are wide, and prices are extremely reasonable. La Casita is one of those food carts that makes me proud to support them, and I enjoy eating here whenever I’m on campus.
My recommendation: Six Carnitas Tacos

5 stars because this place is just what it should be – cheap and delicious food-​cart tacos. For $ 1 a taco, you can get a cheap and satisfying lunch for just a few dollars (I usually get 2 or 3 and am good to go). Pork and veggie options are my favorite. Service is also friendly, which is a nice bonus. My only complaint about this place is that it’s closed on weekends.

Love this place! I usually stop by at least twice a week. The fish tacos are tasty. They offer great vegetarian options including soy products. Great prices and super friendly. They are also open pretty early, so you can get Mexican at 9am instead of having to wait until lunch hour.

It doesn’t get any better than this among taco trucks. This cart is smack in the middle of PSU campus, is completely authentic, and is SOOOOOOO cheap. At $ 1 a taco, I don’t know why anyone even goes to the McDonald’s around the corner.
$ 3 for 3 tacos is sufficient for a meal, and I can’t tell you anywhere else you can get this kind of quality meal for only $ 3. They offer lots of complimentary condiments to go with whatever you order (hot sauces, salsas, guacamole sauce, etc.), and the service is great.

My stars are in context of a taco cart. This is exactly what you want in a taco cart. Good food, simple and good prices, and this place even has places to sit (with people watching). Been here many times, will continue to until it carts away! Hopefully never
