Dr. Matin and her amazing staff have been my dental health provider for a little less than a year, but I am super pleased I decided to go with them. I didn’t always have the best dental care as a child and young adult, so I’ve got my fair share of teeth related issues. Not once has Dr. Matin or her staff ever made me feel self-​conscious about that. They seem to have the attitude that it’s never too late to start doing things right and I really appreciate that. In addition to the standard checkup and cleanings, I’ve had some cosmetic work done and for the first time in my life I’m not uncomfortable or anxious about smiling.
If you are like me, doctors and dentists probably make you pretty nervous. The laid back atmosphere really helps with that and Dr. Matin’s two pups, Angel and Romeo can help make the most nervous patient feel more at ease.

Dr. Laura and her staff are always very friendly and fun to be around. I have been going there for 5 years now, and I am always impressed with their service. You walk in, get a warm neck pillow, a back massage and headphones to watch your favorite t.v. show. You almost forget you are at the dentist’s office! They are also highly trained and get you in and out quickly. I am always pleased with their service and highly recommend this dental office.

I WISH I HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS DENTAL OFFICE!
In summer 2008 had my very front tooth break out. The tooth had to be fully extracted. It was suggested by DR Matin that due to the location of the tooth (highly visible) that I consider a dental implant.
After the long process of the implant (performed by DR Blizzard), DR Matin worked with her «Lab» to create my new implant veneer… AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL… First, the tooth came out 2 shades darker than my normal teeth. Second, when I finally got my new veneer it FELL OFF on the way home. Third, after LESS THAN 10 HOURS the veneer got a DRASTIC CHIP. I had to wait again for ANOTHER veneer. Fourth, during a very uncomfortable procedure where they removed the existing chipped veneer they nicked the side of my other front tooth (and tried to say they didn’t do it). Fifth, LESS THAN A WEEK LATER (while flossing) the veneer fell off AGAIN! I DID NOT go back to have them do another bad job. So I had the existing veneer reattached by a local dentist. No more than 6 months later… guess what… the VENEER from DR Matin HAS CHIPPED AGAIN!
PLEASE NOTE: I am a totally normal person who (after spending thousands upon thousands of dollars on my teeth) DOES NOT use my teeth for un-​teeth like things. I don’t open beer bottles with them or bite open package. I don’t even bite into apples or bagels… I cut them up into little pieces so I don’t have to «stress out» my teeth. I take very good care of my teeth, I brush 2x a day and even floss every evening.

Due to lack of insurance (and a stupid previous dental experience) I haven’t been to a good dentist in AGES. I was referred to Dr. Laura through my loving husband, who has been visiting her office regularly for years. Now that I am equipped with a handy-​dandy new insurance card I knew it was time. I was a little apprehensive since it’s been quite a while since I’ve had someone inspecting my pearly whites, but right away their smiles, friendly greetings, and professionalism made me feel right at ease. I was a few minutes early for my appointment and was sitting in a chair with x-​ray film wedged in my mouth not long after I walked through the door. (This made me super happy because ADD Girl is not a fan of long wait times, especially if she is focused enough to be on time: D)
The doctor’s dental assistant had me right at ease with her attentive and caring attitude. I was fully informed of every little procedure and possibility, which makes me really happy because I like to know what’s going on and don’t know what «O» or «MP» mean. LOL The doctor was lovely and professional, and answered my questions and recommended future care visits that were completely logical for my current oral health. I was super happy with how my teeth were treated, and I REALLY enjoyed that the dentist chair had a massaging vibrate feature and they EVEN gave me a warming neck pillow to use during my teeth cleaning. It’s pretty much as close to paradise you can get while someone is picking and polishing your cake hole. ;)
Their waiting room and exam rooms were clean, orderly, and had classy décor. No daunting, stark white rooms here folks! I was in and out in a very reasonable amount of time with my next appointment card, new tooth health kit, and 1^st time visit gifts in hand. Woot! I’d recommend this office to anyone. Thanks Dr. Laura and Co.

Review:
I found Dr. Matin by researching local dentists online and she came up with the most positive review of the few that I found.
I started seeing Dr. Matin when I went in for pain in my molar — which ended up requiring a root canal. They squeezed me in on short notice and diagnosed the issue quickly. They also referred and arranged the endodontist who later performed the root canal which made the whole process very easy and stress free.
Prior to my follow up to the root canal they called me to let me know that my insurance was going to be maxed out which allowed me to postpone the procedure until after the New Year and take advantage of my insurance. This saved me hundreds of dollars and a lot of stress!
The staff is all very knowledgeable and friendly which made the overall experience enjoyable.
I’d give her 4.5 stars if I could but I only gave four stars because she has a lot of clients (at least it seems like it) which requires that you schedule your general check ups further in advance. Being in a position where I travel on short notice this may be an issue later but they seem pretty good about squeezing people in. Early morning and late afternoon appointments are hard to get there so if you may have take a middle-​of-​the-​day time if you don’t plan ahead. They also operate on a four day work week which adds to the scheduling jam. Overall I don’t think that scheduling is that big of an issue at the office but I think that reviews should point out the negatives to allow for an informed decision.

I would highly recommend Dr. Laura Matin to anyone who asked

After a bad dental experience as a teenager, I waited 11 years to visit the dentist again. My teeth were beginning to get really sensitive, and I knew I’d have to bite the bullet and get them checked. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Matin very highly, so I made an appointment.
The first thing you’ll notice about Dr. Matin’s office is that the waiting area is very girly. I mean this in the most positive sense, but if you’re a man with a problem with pink and lace, this is probably not the place for you to feel comfortable. I find it almost like visiting my grandmother, and what’s more comfortable than grandma? There’s a fireplace, and the chairs are big and comfy. There’s coffee, tea, and cookies available, and plenty of magazines. Most are female-​oriented, but I’m usually able to find something interesting to me as well.
The office is entirely staffed by females, who are all very friendly and great conversationalists. This is good, since they have to do most of the talking when I have five different instruments in my mouth at once. Once you are taken back into the exam rooms, you’ll find that Dr. Matin is also a proud teeth history nerd of the highest order. There are so many old advertisements and actual samples of old dental equipment, toothpaste ads and such. It’s almost like a mini-​dental museum, and I find it fascinating every time I go.
If you’re not as big a nerd as I am, there are still cable television with headphones and massage chairs to occupy your attention. The staff encourages anything that helps you get more comfortable. They are well trained, and my cleanings/​exams have always turned out great. They are always very open to questions as well.
Dr. Matin herself is a godsend to me. After having been through the experience of seeing a poor-​quality dentist, it makes one so appreciative when you are serviced by a dentist who is on the ball and knows what they are doing. Dr. Matin always explains what she’s doing while she’s doing it or before she does it if it’s anything more than routine. She recommended an orthodontist to me when she identified that my teeth were not correctly aligned, and she handled three bridges I needed to have put in. I haven’t had a single problem with any of this work.
I now see Dr. Matin every six months with a wide smile. While I would have likely had to have gone through everything I did if I had seen another dentist, I think Dr. Matin has done as superb a job as anyone could. I’ve recommended her to my sister and best friend, and they’ve both been happy.
Pros: Great dentist and staff that are concerned with both your health and your dental experience
Cons: Might be too feminine for some tastes
