I’ll be making this a regular spot for coffee dates! The girl working was friendly and joyful. She gave me an extra shot of espresso for free so of course I instantly just adore her. The mocha I had was perfect! They also have a daily trivia that you can take a shot at for discounts. Barista is across the street but it does not compare to the level of service, comfortable atmosphere, and overall quality of product that Lotus and Bean offers.(And it’s cheaper!)

The coffee taste way better than Starbucks(and I go to Starbucks regularly). I always get a shot in the dark and I can just taste the difference in quality with their espresso and coffee! I wish there was a location closer to me because I would drink here everyday!

Cute little coffee shop. I actually had some strong green tea, they have a nice selection. Snacks and light food to choose if you like. Nothing fancy or unusual. Friendly welcoming staff and they offer daily specials. Great place to pop in for something to-go or you can hang out for a while in the back where they have a couple of couches. I like the front little window seats that are tucked up out of the way because it provides an excellent front row view to people watch on a very busy corner. Always something interesting to see downtown! Tip: You will need to ask staff for a key to use the bathrooms.

I work in a building directly across the street from Lotus and Bean and it is an absolute treat having these ladies less than a block away from my workplace. I love their drinks, first and foremost. And their food. But those are just a part of what makes this place special. There is a kindness that comes with every interaction at Lotus and Bean. When I first started working in my office and coming here, the staff would always apologize for not knowing my name. While there is no need for apologies, it was so nice be acknowledged as a regular. Now, they know my name and my order(and even my bosses order when I’m doing one of those runs). It makes me feel happy to spend my money there because I know it’s not going to some corporation. We need more coffee houses like this one. Even with Starbucks a few blocks up and other dependable options around, my choice to get drinks and the occasional breakfast from Lotus and Bean is a no brainer. Highly recommend this place. Thanks for all you do ladies!

It’s alright, I got a caramel latte and it was pretty bland and the artwork was terrible. Still a really cute shop though and it’s all organic

Great coffee and super friendly staff! I hear their breakfast sandwiches are also delicious, but I’ve yet to try them.

Great coffee joint run by friendly ladies. Four shots of espresso and a large coffee put the day in overdrive!

First coffee shop we tried since we moved to Portland, and this makes our top 2 favorite places here in this beautiful city. Definitely our go-to when we’re in the city. Personally way better than Stumptown and Heart coffee which everyone says is a must here. Try it and see for yourself!

This is the first coffee shop I’ve tried in Portland so far and I have to say that I think it already beats a bunch of other coffee shops I’ve been to in other states. I’m definitely coming back here!

This is my favorite coffee shop in Portland, by far. Not only is the coffee(and whip cream!) delicious, but the staff is exceptionally friendly and takes the time to get to know you and your order. They have a point system awarding free drinks, a trivia question that awards discounts if you guess correct and they even gave out free drinks to their regulars for Christmas. This shop goes above and beyond what they have to do as a company.

There is just something about this place that I love. The staff is so friendly and nice and their coffee is delicious. It’s the staff that make all the difference between a great coffee place and a place that has great coffee.

This place is awesome, staff is over the top friendly. Cappuccino served in a thin lip mug, nice detail. And the coffee is really good!

The coffee is good but the accounting is bad– I put 20 bucks on my shop account, they ‘lost’ it and acted pretty rudely about the whole thing while we sorted it out as if it were my fault. I thought I had found a great new coffee place but probably not going to continue going there after that.

Service and my Americano were good but was it busy! I was glad to not have been in a hurry. Despite how busy they were the staff was still friendly and attentive.

Downtown Portland has many coffee shops, but oddly very few with wifi. I’ve popped in to Lotus & Bean a number of times to grab a quick drink, and whether it’s a caramel apple cider, or cinnamon latte, or other, it’s always really good. The service is awesome, too. The girls are very friendly and seem very happy to serve their customers. If it were just for the coffee and service they’d get at least four stars, but for what I look for in the total coffee shop experience, I have to give less than that. Here’s why: — only one bathroom(that, whenever I’ve needed to use it, has had someone camped out for at least 15 minutes) — only one power outlet that isn’t accessible from the tables — mediocre food(except the baked goods — they’re awesome and fresh) If you’re looking for a cup and/or a treat, or unwired conversation, even, it’s the place to be, but if you want to be able to work, it’s not so great. And sadly, I’m writing this review from a Starbucks down the street, where I came directly from Lotus & Bean to 1. use the restroom, and 2. plug in.

OK. this is it. My new favorite café in downtown Portland. Why is that? Because, the service is very friendly. I get tired of going into those other places, even local ones, asking if they have drip decaf, only to be told no, it’s not cost effective for us. So what do you get instead? You get a decaf Americano. Well, I don’t want a decaf Amerciano. I want a drip decaf! How about that? So I walked in the other day and asked, do you have drip decaf? With the utmost enthusiasm, she responded delightfully with, YES! My first thought was, I found my new coffee home. Oh I like fully leaded as much as the next person, except for one thing. It leaves me with the jitters without that good feeling kick. You know the one I mean? Anyway, this is a miracle. They also play excellent music. You know. None of that hipster kind of indie stuff that hipster baristas play for themselves, not their patrons. I can leave all that behind. Pleasant staff, drip decaf., wifi, etc. A great place to hang out. Thanks Lotus and Bean. Don’t ever change.

Nice, low-key coffee shop. Especially if you’re wanting a cup of coffee that isn’t from Starbucks or a pretentious coffee shop.(I love Starbucks and said pretentious shops, but caffeine without the hype is still caffeine.) Friendly service. I only ordered a latte but they also serve tea, pastries, and sandwiches. There are several and different sized tables and chairs, and a comfy couch as well.

This is a cute little place for a cup of coffee. I recommend especially one of the small tables off to the side by the window(to your left when you walk in). There isn’t really anything distinctive about this place, though. If you’re in the area and in the mood for a café, it’ll work just fine. If you’re not, then I can’t think of any reason to recommend going out of your way to go there.

If this was not one of the cheapest cups of iced coffee I have ever bought I would have given it few stars. The claim was it is cold brewed for 12 hours, but it tasted like yesterday’s coffee thrown in the fridge and put over ice. the wives Latte was«meh» Pros: amazingly inexpensive caffeine Cons: coffee is terrible Take away, better value than Starbucks same taste
