We love Dr. Royse! I have 4 girls who have seen Dr. Royse since they were toddlers and we have never had any luck with any dentist but him. Even after we moved to the East side, we have kept on going to him. The best!

Dr Royse and staff are great. Friendly, no-nonsense approach and will take the time to talk with you about what’s what and answer all your questions. My kids enjoy the dentist experience thanks to Dr. Royse. Great central DT location too.

I’m actually really surprised by the couple of negative reviews as I’ve been taking my kids to Dr. Royse for last 2 years and have always found him to be great with kids, informative and kind. I scheduled my youngest for a cleaning when she was a little too young to really need it and Dr Royce did her exam for no charge. My kids look forward to their dental appointment because the whole staff makes it an enjoyable process and they know they will get to choose from the awesome prize drawers at the end. I highly recommend Dr Royse.

I went to Dr. Royse as a kid, after Dr. Paulson retired. He was the worst dentist I’ve ever been to! He didn’t care if I was in pain and would just keep working. He caused me to be terrified of the dentist! I can remember it like it was yesterday — I was getting a filling and he could see that I was in pain. I was pushing my head as far back into the chair as a could and tears were pouring down my face. He stopped and said, «Can you fee that?» and when I replied yes, all he said was, «Good! That means it’s not dead.» Then he went right back to drilling and didn’t give me anything for the pain. This was just ONE bad experience. Now, telling my daughter’s dentist(who’s on the Board) about my experiences with the dentist, he told me he’s heard a lot of stories like this about Dr. Royse. He is NOT a good dentist! Take your kids somewhere else! I will NEVER let my child sit in the chair of a dentist who enjoys seeing kids in pain!

Dr. Royce was great with giving conservative care to my squirmy five year old. This is a kid who used to have to be restrained in a dental chair. Dr. Royce was able to reverse all that, and make the dentist a tolerable experience for my son. He’s quiet, yet firm with my son, and he actually has held still for novacaine and a filling… twice! Tip to parents: Dr. Royce will invite you to sit next to him and hold your kid’s hands while he drills. OMG, I’ve never actually seen what they do when they drill teeth– it’s not for the squeamish. So brace yourself for that. I’m very glad to have had a consult with Dr. Royce– another pediatric dentist acted like my son *had* to get 5 fillings under general anesthesia at the hospital, to the tune of 7−10k. Dr. Royce uses only nitrous(I was skeptical, but it worked!), and patience. My bill was 1⁄20th of the other dentist’s estimate. He’s good with kids, no risk under anesthesia, and he won’t rip you off– what more can you ask for?

Fantastic no nonsense dentist. Dr. Royce is really up front with children and treats them with respect and gets the job done. He took over the practice from my childhood pedodontist, and is carrying on the tradition of great dental care for kids. His office gets one in quickly if there’s been an emergency(like your 7 year old falling flat on his face and his little baby front teeth are turning black, ouch!). I would highly recommend Dr. Royce and his staff.

Both of my kids have been going here for years. Dr Royse and his staff have always been friendly and informative. Dr Royse always comes out after our visits to give us a status update on our kids’ dental hygiene performance.

Listen, visiting the dentist is traumatizing enough without someone barking orders at you. My kids might be a bit harder to contain than others, but I was surprised that Dr. Royse didn’t have more of a tender touch.
