Specialties
An izakaya is a Japanese pub which also serves food to accompany the drinks. The name «izakaya» is a compound word consisting of «i» (to sit) and «sakaya» (sake shop). The food is usually more substantial than that offered in other types of drinking establishments in Japan such as snack bars. They are popular, casual and relatively cheap places for after-work eating and drinking. Izakayas tend to be low lit, loud, and are found in unassuming spots. We are located in a 100 year old craftsman style home. MiHO Izakaya also has a private tatami room available for reservations where customers sit on tatami mats and dine from a low table in the traditional Japanese style.
