Nomad Crossing

The selection is amazing and on that alone I would give five stars. However the last time I was in there, today, the employees were smoking so much weed from vape pens that I was high when I left the store. I found it to be very poor customer service when they are taking hits between sentences and blowing it all over the store. I like to get high as much as the next guy but I don’t do it at work when I am in the middle of talking to a customer. In addition to being bad customer service, it’s illegal to be smoking marijuana in public. It’s legal in Oregon now but you just can’t walk around smoking wherever you want to. I do not think I will return to this store because of this. Great products, bad employees.

I had bought a rig here some time ago, a nice one for a very affordable price no less. Well, long story short, my husband cracked the stem. I took the rig to Nomads thinking I was gonna have to drop $ 100 plus bucks for a new one, but the staff, and the owner Julie, we’re so helpful in spending time with me to find an adapter that would save my rig and keep me from buying a new one. The staff here is always helpful and kind. And a big thank you to Julie for everything!

This place is great and it is the ONLY place where I buy my merch. The people there are super super sweet and are always able to help you out. I had busted a fuse for my vape about a year ago and the owner personally drove down to his shop to give me one after his guy called him about their missing fuse’s. I love this place and I always leave happy, which is rare for me.

I love this place. The owner and her employees are super nice. They spend time with you, explain things to you, and work with you. They are quite accommodating too. I love our new purchase.

I was beyond impressed with the selection of unique pieces in this shop. Absolutely stunning is the best description I can muster up. The shop itself has the look and feel you would expect for a place like this. The staff was way friendly and down to Earth. The incense was potent so those who are sensitive to smells shouldn’t stay too long. I had no problem finding the perfect gift but could only afford one. This is a stop I plan make again on my next visit to Portland.

Huge selection of vaporizers and their staff was very helpful. Much better prices than mellow mood and much friendlier than Third eye.

I love my stuff I got. I got a small pipe for dab with a torch and I felt like everything was really over priced. The customer service was great the women working were very helpful and nice. The shop had lots of really nice stuff I woulda got more but was expensive.

went in to buy some coils for my gpen and they sold me some plastic ones (note to self don’t use anything that has plastic right next to the heating element!) they were not wrapped in plastic either. very unsanitary and inconsiderate way to make $ 10 bux off of someone. I guess it was my fault because I was too much in a hurry to really check out what they were selling me. guess you can’t really rely on a business to just have integrity for their products these days…

This place is a great local smoke shop. It has glass blown by local artists for a decent price and has excellent service. They treat their customers right and are very helpful. It’s a great place to go in and look around at all the cool pipes and bongs. I’m a long time customer and will continue to go here.

It is very rare that I write a Unilocal review, but I felt this needed to be said.
The women and men of Nomads Crossing have been incredibly helpful and compassionate. I am an OMMP patient, and am very new to delivery devices and methods. I would have been an easy person to giggle at or be treated like a square. Okay, I am a square but I digress. .
I was treated kindly and with compassion, and my questions regarding delivery devices and spare parts were explained in a way that I could easily understand with the utmost patience. Everything I bought was tested to make sure it worked before I left the store (vaporizer element with glycerine) and I think that is a great level of service.
If you are an OMMP patient that is new to the medicine and delivery devices, this is a great place to not only buy and get parts for your delivery devices as well as get treated with compassion and respect. They are even nice to squares.

They have a fair amount of vaping supplies, but their flavors aren’t very good. Shop is cramped and full of stoners– which makes sense, being that this is primarily a head shop. The staff are friendly up to a point, but if they sell you faulty merchandise, they’re not eager to replace or repair. I was told by one of their staff that the $ 50 battery I’d bought from them was «cheap electronics» when it broke after two months. I was very faithful about giving them my business until they acted like they simply didn’t care about backing up their products. I’ll never go back.

I’ve always liked this place. They have stuff that Third Eye doesn’t, some prices better, some the same. Either way they are a cool, unique shop that has really grown over the years and deserves a visit.

Came here again and I am blown away by the service. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. It doesn’t feel like they’re trying to push something on you to meet a sales quota but rather just helping out and patiently answering all of your questions (or in our case, giving you all the answers to the questions that you were going to ask). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Went in to buy a hookah. I can’t emphasize this enough but I’m a total square and don’t know anything about their different products. The salesperson was so accommodating, knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. I felt totally at ease and will shop here again and will recommend this place to anyone.

This is by far the best smoke shop in Portland. They have great prices and always have your classic needs such as Juicy Wraps. Also tons of props to the rotating display. Only other smoke shop that has one is Paramore in California. This place has anything you need and everything you want.

What an awesome experience!
I went in because my No2 vaporizer (purchased elsewhere) was no longer holding a charge, and I was hoping to order a new battery. Rather than just ordering a battery, they let me troubleshoot my problem on their vaporizer, which revealed that the problem was the wall charger, not the battery (saved me $ 20 right there). They also volunteered to charge my battery at the story all day so I could use the vaporizer until the new wall charger arrived. I picked up the charger 2 days later, and thanks to them letting me charge the battery, was never out of service. A huge thanks to the friendly staff. I’ll be back!

It’s the best 100% headshop in Portland – it is not a tobacco shop; shisha/​hookah selection is fairly limited. But for everything else, no other place really compares. The store is runs on a mission of love rather than the bottom dollar. I realize that sounds sort of corny, but there’s an actual tangible difference.

Great customer service here I went to the third eye first but they did not have what I was looking for and they directed me to nomad, this place had exactly what I was looking for and they were super friendly, I will be returning here.

I almost never have a need to visit a head shop, so when I recently decided to look into vaporizers as a healthier alternative to smoking, I didn’t know where to turn. My first stop was nearby Mellow Mood, where I received friendly customer service, but was put off by the fact that the shop is a chain based in Minnesota, as I always prefer to support local businesses. Next up was the Third Eye, also nearby. I like the Third Eye in general, but the prices on their vaporizers were pretty steep.
Then I had the good fortune to discover Nomad Crossing. I was the only customer in the shop and all three people working were happy to answer all my questions about vaporizers, show me how each one worked and give me advice based on their personal experience. They were super friendly, cool, and knowledgeable, and didn’t seem to mind how long it took me to choose one. Even better, I got a nice electric model with a digital display for less money than I would have had to spend at either of the other shops I visited. Two weeks later, I’m pretty happy with my purchase.
It’ll probably be a long time before I need another smoking or vaporizing device, but if I do, I would definitely go back to Nomad Crossing.

Being the lucky recipient of «Type A Personality» genes and friends with several others, I know many that occasionally self medicate in the evenings, in order to wind down and relax after a long day of dealing with clients, deadlines and online marketing conundrums. They prefer this self medication route over the thought of ever being reliant on prescription medications.
As Oregon is well known for its abundance of natural herbal remedies, I decided it was time to finally visit a local head shop to purchase a top end «water pipe» so that I could take water filtered pleasure in the various local «flavored tobaccos» the device had been so expertly designed to enjoy.
The staff, or should I say the «Dudes» at Nomads were extremely helpful and willing to offer suggestions, advice and smoking tips. I knew I was dealing with professionals as both employees appeared to have difficulty keeping their eyes completely open during the transaction. Plus, one was a perfect Spicoli doppelgänger… you could tell all he needs are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and he’s fine.
The selection was good, with smoking apparatuses from local designers and glass blowers. And while my purchase is no Billy-​Bong-​Thorton, I am extremely pleased with my selection. So, um dude, could you please pass the Doritos?
