My sister and I were walking our dogs down Woodstock and we decided to stop in here for some lunch. Since we had the dogs, we decided to sit out on the patio even though the weather wasn’t great. I asked the waitress what she would recommend and she said the Lak Sa, OMG it was so delicious. The broth was to die for, there was a poach egg, and pork pieces that were also delicious! We also had the Devil Wings, and the Pad Tai, both were also great! The service was great too and she continued to check on us, asking if we needed lunch to go since it was sprinkling. We are Portland natives so a little rain didn’t bother us. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Worst pad kee mao ever had. pretentious bowl and glass and decoration only works for pretentious people. Not for me. No AC on a day over 100 degree evening. Ordered bottled beer came out warm. Disgusting taste and over fried tofu with usually red color dyed noodle taste just awful.

I’ve eaten at Nudi a number of times over the last few years, with each time leaving an even more favorable impression than the last. They have inventive flavors combined with appealing plate presentation, and a seasonal, ever-changing menu. That alone should be enough to visit, *but* to make it a little more dangerous: all of the dishes are priced reasonably and portions are very generous. How can one not love Nudi? On my last visit, I tried the salmon katsu. The broth was delightful, the vegetables and meat plentiful, flavorful — but the smoked wide rice noodles were truly out of this world. Smoke is an incredible tool, one I wish more chefs thought to incorporate; smoked *noodles* instead of smoked meat(the reflex option) takes the dish and flavors beyond my earthly Unilocal review. The first taste of smoky noodle instantly transported me back to a late-night shaokao on the streets of China. I felt like I was sitting around a campfire with friends in the woods as I ate my way through smoky goodness, delectable broth, salmon, and vegetables. It’s one of the most memorable dishes I’ve ever experienced. I’ve had(and love) the coconut chicken fettucine, murtabak, soba tom kha, and many other dishes or appetizers that were seasonal. Partners and friends all join in on the love of the lak sa, and recently, the boat noodles. I seldom order dessert or a special beverage at restaurants. But Nudi’s desserts are always worthwhile — the lava toast variations are delicious, even for someone like me who isn’t a huge fan of sweets. Ditto their«healthy drinks» section. This is a place where one really feels the urge to come back over and over to try every single item on the menu. I’ve also found that generally, despite whatever you think the dish might look like, you’ll be(pleasantly) surprised. Last, but most importantly, their staff is awesome. They’re friendly, attentive, helpful; and, they obviously have some skilled chefs. I also think the ambiance of Nudi is perfect. It’s romantic, it’s cool. This review has been a long time coming, I certainly waited enough years!

Stopped here because it was open past 9 on weekdays and I was craving some noddles. Fried spring rolls were great, loved the sauce especially. Delicious dishes are seasonal and beautifully prepared. Their noodle soups are wonderfully flavored. Their drinks are great, we had the coconut water(which was rich and refreshing with chunks of coconuts) and the Green Tea Tangerine which was splendid as well. Service was fast, kind, and attentive. Next time I’m in the neighborhood I will stop again. Great atmosphere. Would be good for a date night :-)

Had the Angry Birds Salad. Excellent! Drank the Green Tea Tangerine. Soooo good! This place gets 5 stars from me because both myself and my partner left happy and satisfied. If you haven’t yet, I suggest you give them a visit.

I love Nudi! The space is gorgeous, the main waitress is amazing, sassy, and knows her stuff, the menu changes seasonally, and the food is delicious. It’s small and soooo what makes Portland wonderful and magical and good. My family loves to go there when visiting, too. Try the crepes – they’re crispy and the presentation is GORGEOUS. Also, the noodle dishes… so good. If it’s Friday or Sat come early if you don’t like a little bit of a wait, or come on Sunday. However, the wait is never that long and it’s worth it.

I stumbled across this gem a few days ago and they had me at laksa and the fact that it was reviewed as a «good date» spot. Oh and that it was Thai, my girlfriend had been craving Thai for awhile. So. three wins for me. What’s that saying, happy wife equals happy life? Or in this case, happy girlfriend, happy belly. We came in around 2pm on a Sunday, eerily quiet except for one table. The inside is mega cute, I liked the hanging window near the entrance and the metal tables. I didn’t understand the bird houses on the wall or on th exterior but I dug the whole overall feel of the place. I knew I wanted the laksa since the last time I’d had it was years ago in Singapore and had never seen it on a menu anywhere! My girlfriend settled on the boat bowl almost immediately. We had trouble with the starters, all the options sounded good! We chose the demon eggs, ergo, she chose the demon eggs. Next time though, I’m definitely getting oyster shooters… and the tom kha soup noodle and a salad(the syringe dressing had me intrigued). The laksa wasn’t bad, it is their #1 item after all! I loved how spicy and layered with flavors the broth was. My only qualms were all pretty minor, 1) my soft poached egg was a little too soft for my liking, 2) the pork was too thick/made eating difficult, so I just took it all out(I know to just forgo it next time), 3) the noodles were a smidge overdone, they were pretty soft, like mushy soft. My girlfriend liked her boat bowl but said the soup was too hot(temperature wise, she can handle spice like a champ). I thought her broth was very rich, not bad but I preferred mine. She actually liked mine more too and made me get the broth to go! The demon eggs were her favorite though and despite being allergic to citrus, she didn’t even bat an eyelash. They certainly weren’t difficult to eat. Ample parking, kitschy interior, stellar food, good service. This place is an overall win, win!

Delicious, innovative food with healthy options. That was probably some of the best ramen broth I’ve ever had in Portland! Definitely coming back for more.

A surprisingly pretty, hip, and romantic spot for Thai food and drinks. The building is almost certainly a former IHOP based on the architecture, but it’s cozy and quirky inside. Some dishes are spicier than others. I had the Boat Noodles, which were richly beefy and delicious, and my date had the tom yum ramen, which was an interesting mashup of Thai and Japanese. Offstreet parking, and they didn’t seem to mind when I left my car in the lot and walked down Woodstock for a few hours, not returning til after they closed for the night. I’ll definitely be back!

I had to give it 3 stars only because I was so, so sick afterwards. Friends had recommended the restaurant and go there regularly, so I trust the place… but my stomach was sensitive to something. With that said, I absolutely loved my meal! I started with a Roselle Cool tea which was delicious and had the #1 popular choice Lak Sa which was so amazing, spicy, flavorful, words cannot describe my love for this bowl. I shared my dish with a few others and everyone agreed on its greatness. They had a beer menu as well, which was nice. Next time, I will have a beer with the same dish as the sweet tea with spicy food probably was the offset in my belly. Yes, I will give this a second chance, because it was that good!

Definitely up there with Dick’s Sporting Goods for problematic search terms and auto fill errors associated with a business name. No, I don’t want nudie pics, tours or resorts. I just want some tasty Asian fusion in Woodstock, thank you very much. Whether intentional or not, Nudi offers up delicious food and drink and stellar service, but all sorts of delightful off-center things are happening here. Love the décor, which feels like you are floating in a woodland tree house under the stars far away from the hustle and bustle of Woodstock Blvd. It actually feels like you are plopped down in a stage set and a production(perhaps A Midsummer Night’s Dream) is about to begin. And the food lives up to the showy setting. We had fun looking through the menu that is filled with little comments as well as notes referencing press articles from Willamette Week, The Oregonian, etc. The menu is divided into sections like Garden Recipe, Well Known, Nudi’s Signature, Dry Dishes and Rice Style. The drink menu is also an eclectic mix of beer, wine, cocktails, teas and healthy drinks with descriptions about which is most beneficial for certain ills(common cold, constipation, etc.). You may get far more information about your date that you intended dining here. Our server was fantastic. Attentive and generous with recommendations guiding us through the menu. We ordered three dishes to share, the Lak Sa(«#1 Customer favorite noodle dish»), the Murtabak(Indian crêpe) and Pad Kee Mao. Mr. K and I both loved the Lak Sa and Murtabak and felt the Pad Kee Mao was average. It is a dish we normally enjoy, but definitely overshadowed by the other two dishes that are more spicy, complex and unique. Both the Lak Sa and Murtabak were gorgeously presented and I appreciate that the majority of spice for the Lak Sa is served on top, so you can choose how much to include before you mix the dish together. You can start mild and mix more in to your taste. One of the oddities in the Murtabak was a side salad(organic greens) with a gorgeous blood orange slice but also several(hamburger dill chip) pickles. Definitely a head scratcher. We arrived just when they opened on a Sunday afternoon, so the entire service went smoothly. And it is a great location across from Cloud City Ice Cream and a block from Otto’s so you can have a nice combination of dining and shopping while you’re in the area. So, we definitely want more nudipdx, just no nudiepics.

First of all, I was pretty hyped to go here since I see that they have great reviews and good looking food pictures. However, the food I had was unimpressed. I understand that it’s a fusion restaurant but it didn’t taste like they made the«fusion» dish any different than the original intended dish. For example, the commander noodles was pretty much the Vietnamese h tiu nam vang(phom penh noodles) except a bit more acidic. The only fusion about that dish is its name. Confused the crap out of me. I thought I was ordering something way better than what it’s actually is. If I wanted the phom penh dish then I would’ve gone to Me Kha where they make them authentic and not charge $ 14 for it. Second, their fusion cocktail drinks comes in a beaker and a shot glass. It was so small and barely have any alcohol. I should’ve just drank water. There are a few other noodle dish on the menu that resembles dishes I had somewhere else that isn’t fusion. I guess Asian fusion doesn’t hit the spot for me since I rather have authentic dish that isn’t tweaked a little bit just so they can call it fusion. This place is better fitted for those who haven’t had the original dish or know what the original dish tastes like. And if you use this place as a reference then you will never know what the real taste of authentic Asian dishes. Once and done, on to the next noodle place.

From my countless experience at Nudi, I maintain that it is the best Asian Fusion restaurant in Portland. Nudi takes Asian cuisine to a whole new level. Their presentation is beyond perfection. My favorites are the Phuket Oyster Shooter, Duck Noodles Soup, Noodle May B, and their Roselle Cool from the Healthy Drinks. The service is always on point and their staff makes the atmosphere even more welcoming.

Skip the tradition and go for the inventive. In a recent trip to Portland, this seemingly hole-in-the-wall wowed me more than any of the other places I went in the more traditional trendy neighborhoods. I recommend the squid ink paella and the green curry fettucine with steak. Both had strong flavors that hold up both in the moment and upon reflection later.

Yummy yum yum yum. I love Noodles! And I love Nudi noodles! Ok let’s start with the place itself. it is super cute. I don’t know what kind of style they were going for but it is really ecclectic and they make it work! The place looks like a little cabin, perhaps by a fishing river or something. And on the inside they have very modern gaudy things that are gold and purple, a chandelier wrapped in moss, beach things all around, tables made out of what looks like an old rusty plane. I don’t know but I love it! SUper cute. They make it work. The staff, wonderful. All super sweethearts! Ok now the menu. Noodles galore! :D There is so much. And it’a a mixture of Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, maybe a little Chinese influence, but from what I could tell those were the main three. The prices are a little high, but it’s worth it. We got the boat noodles and commander noodles. The commander noodles were yummmmy! My boyfriend said they were spicy, but I think it just builds up after a whole bowl. The boat noodles were really yummy but the broth was ridiculously salty. I went through so much water! I wanted to eat more but I couldn’t because it was too salty. So I took it home. At the end of the day, we cannot wait to go back! PS. If you like durian, they have durian sticky rice on the dessert menu. I didn’t try it this time, but I want to next time

You know you’re having fun and following the right friends on Unilocal!when you stumble across an exciting new restaurant and find your fellow Unilocalers beat you to it and Unilocaled a review two years earlier. What! You know who you are! I have got to get out more often! Well, it’s already been a wild early summer with travel to fun cities, which means great restaurants with great cuisine! Life is good. I spend a lot of time in Portland and have discovered couple of new and incredible restaurants. But a colleague introduced me to a fantastic Asian fusion restaurant call the Nudi Noodle Place in SE Portland and wow, was it amazing. I’ve had two incredible starters from Nudi: Crispy Chocolate Pork Belly(I know what you are thinking, but wow is it delicious) and the Crispy Maple Belly(which is currently on their winter menu). They are both a must-try. I also recommend the Miso Ramen, which is great for lunch or dinner. Nudi Noodle Place has been in business for over three years and is nestled in the middle of Woodstock, down the street from Otto’s, the home of my favorite homemade hot dog(check out my review on Otto’s Sausage Kitchen). Thank you Nudi Noodle Place for being a great part of my culinary community!

Love the variety of different types of noodles on their menu. Very cute décor and special attention to detail on the different bowls and dishes the noodles are served in for efficiency. Has the pad kee maow and it was delicious. Fresh basil and veggies. Plenty of noodles and chicken. I ordered it medium for the level of heat and it wasn’t very spicy but had a good kick. Perfect amount of spice to allow me to try the seasonings they provided(ck out the pic). Not your typical oyster shooter. For $ 3 a shooter, you get your money’s worth. The oyster was about about 2 inches big and spicy. I was too chicken to try it(concerned it was too spicy) but my boyfriend did… he said it was spicy and awesome. He’d get it again, and maybe I will next time. Service was quick and very friendly. I’m glad I finally tried this place since I’ve bookmarked it for over a year.

Nudi, thank you for the gigantic portion of vegetarian kimchee udon! The vegetables were fresh & the noodles were cooked to perfection. The spicy kimchee was wonderful with the rest of the dish as well. I loved every single bite of it even as leftovers. I’ve also tried Jap Chae which wasn’t my favorite but it was still a good meal. My complaint with this dish was too much oil which blanketed the flavor a bit. The sesame tapioca crackers are delicious when eaten with the rest of the meal. The pickles tempura was not a good appetizer for us & the only reason why is it didn’t have any sauce. They really need something to dip into because it just tastes like dill pickles & deep-fried batter. The Thai iced tea was surprisingly good for it being made with green tea leaves rather than the traditional Thai tea leaves. If you’re not a fan of green tea I wouldn’t order this; the green tea flavor is apparent. Service was excellent & the food was excellent for the most part. Overall, I really like Nudi Noodle & I have returned despite the underwhelming pickles tempura.
