As one of the last family owned funeral homes in the Portland area (Most of the other firms are owned by a large corporation and charge fees that are 2 – 3 times what we charge), we can tailor our services to meet the needs of the family.

Omega Funeral & Cremation Service is a full service facility, with a refrigerated holding area, preparation facilities, viewing rooms, a service room seating over 100 people and a reception area for gatherings. We operate our own crematorium onsite at our facility and can guarantee that the deceased will be treated with the utmost in care and respect. By having all of these facilities onsite we can assure the families we serve that their loved one never leaves our care.

Our staff is experienced in serving families from all walks of life, countries of origin, religions, traditions and helping them create a ceremony that honors and reflects a life well lived.

We are recognized as specialists in international shipping of human remains to all points in the world.

History

Established in 1990.

Omega Funeral & Cremation Service began serving the needs of Oregon families with one simple goal, «To provide the necessary services that a family needs, at an affordable price».

Since the late 1980’s a number of funeral homes in the area have been purchased by a large corporation known for their high prices.

In 2001 we purchased a building that had previously been used as a funeral home. With this move to a larger facility we were able to provide onsite preparation, holding facilities and a place for family and friends to gather to remember a life lived.

In 2004 we installed a crematorium in our facility to accommodate families who choose cremation as the method of disposition. With a crematorium onsite we are able to ensure that the highest standard of care and respect is maintained and to offer the family and their friends the option of being present when the cremation begins. We operate the only family owned crematorium in East Multnomah.

Meet the Business Owner

Erin P.

Business Owner

Erin began his career in the funeral industry in 1977 in Forest Grove, Oregon. Like many people working in funeral homes at the time, he had to wear 2 hats, by not only providing services to the greiving, but also by providing care to the sick and injured. The mortuary where Erin worked also provided ambualnce service to the residents of Western Washington County. After working for several years there, Erin enrolled in the Funeral Science program at Mt. Hood Community College, where he graduated in 1982.

Erin then worked in several funeral homes in Oregon before returning to Portland in 1987.

Erin is involved in his community, belonging to several civic and fraternal organizations and has served as a member of the Oregon Cemetery & Mortuary Board since 2008.

But first and foremost, he is a Husband and Father to his wife Kathy and daughter Chelsea.

As time allows, Erin enjoys travel, model car collecting, surfing and spending time with family and friends.
