Paint With Joanne

My step-​son takes classes from Joanne and he has excelled in painting. Not that he wasn’t good before, but I think she has truly helped him polish his technique and he looks forward to attending her classes. It’s great! And she is great!

I have an artistic background, but had never used oil paint, and didn’t think I liked painting very much. In college, I majored in art, but didn’t receive any practical instruction with the acrylics we used.
After just one lesson with Joanne, I realized just how little I had learned with my formal art education. Right away, I was learning how to prep a canvas, how to blend, which paints are opaque vs transparent, and how to glaze.
I also learned by watching her paint. Joanne paints realism like an old master. She paints from photographs, from life, and from her imagination. Many of her new students are amazed with the paintings they are able to create, right away, under her instruction. Oil paint is a very forgiving medium for a new student, and for someone who has become familiar with it, it can allow you to do some incredible things.
The best part of having Joanne for a teacher, is that she will really inspire you to be your best, while nurturing your own creative vision. She can be very hands on when you need it, but she won’t get in your way when you are wanting to do your own art experiment, which was perfect for me. On top of that, she is a very kind and fun person, which makes class more fun.
