Specialties
A European-style market and cooks paradise, featuring fresh pasta, a vast cheese selection, hand-picked wines and the best food products from Oregon and abroad.
History
Established in 1983.
Pastaworks was founded in 1983 in Southeast Portland. The original store was located in the space that Evoe now occupies at the Hawthorne location, carried a small selection of wines, five cheeses, three prepared salads and a couple of of good olive oils and vinegars. Sheet pastas were made daily and ravioli were made on Saturdays just before the store opened (sometimes after).
Today, Pastaworks is one of the great European-style markets in the United States, producing and selling fresh pasta (extruded, sheet and ravioli) made from the highest quality Northwest-grown wheat and eggs. Their are two locations, the flagship store on SE Hawthorne Boulevard, and City Market NW at 21st and Johnson in the Alphabet District.
At Pastaworks, we are committed to warm, gracious, knowledgeable customer service. Our customers come from near and far to experience our unique store, so it’s important that they feel their journey, whether 5 blocks or 500 miles, is a good one.
