Don’t shop here. They have a crummy return policy. ALL stores should offer a full return in the first 7 days! Their policy is exchange or store credit only. Very bad.
You can find most of their shoes on Zappos! Zappos has the best return policy on the planet (along with Nordstrom)! Plus, you will pay a bit less.
I would frequent Pedx shoes more if they were to make this small change as I always want to shop local if possible. But, not when it comes to shoes!!!

Totally just stumbled on this gem of a shoe store! I’ve been looking for cute shoes that are also really comfy since I’m in my feet all day. And this was the place to find just that. I love my new shoes!!!
Hedi was amazing pulling all sorts of shoes and guiding me through the whole process. Ps. I hate shopping. But she made it so simple.
Also I have to mention they have a huge selection of sale shoes. I love bargains!!!

First off, I wished they would open up a store in Oakland, CA. They have a great selection of quality shoes and styles. I told myself I wouldn’t buy any shoes, since I was only in Portland for the weekend and didn’t have much room in my bag, but of course I found a couple of pairs of shoes I liked. I ended up buying a pair of j shoes on sale. Which were so amazing. But when I returned home and after wearing them for 1 day, I noticed that the shoes ripped, so I called PEDX told them what happened and they offered replace my shoes. They took such wonderful care of me. The sales associate that sold me the shoes was also amazing and I wished I had gotten her name. But Marika was the one that helped me on the phone and she called J shoes to see if they had any more. Alas, they had none and she offered me a few possible solutions. In the end she gave me a store credit. At first, I thought well how will this work, I don’t live in Portland. But I knew I would have no problems using the credit. In the end, I found a pair of shoes I liked off their FB page and luckily she had them in stock. So I paid for the shipping and received my new shoes. I was impressed with their shoe selection and customer service. Marika really went above and beyond to help me. She even apologized for not called me for 2 days in between emailing her to settle matter, because she wasn’t working, which was so nice. Received my shoes right away and the next time I head to Portland, this will be my first stop.

I won’t shop here again which I’m sad to say since it’s a cute store. After buying some shoes I looked at the shoe manufacture’s website to see other styles and I found that in the store I was charged over 10% more than the retail price. When I called to inquire as to why I paid above the retail price the answer was a simple «that’s our markup price.» After voicing my concerns that I felt somewhat taken advantage of and asking if there was anything that could be done the answer was «No, they don’t price match.» I would have been happy with having the difference in store credit and they probably would have made even more money from me next time I came in to use it. I would have even been happy with just a, «I understand your frustration and I’m sorry you feel taken advantage of but…» followed by an explanation as recognizing when it’s appropriate to empathize is more valuable to me than the money. So unfortunately, even though I enjoy supporting local businesses, I’m left feeling bitter and will never go back. After reading other reviews it seems that other people have taken note of the «markup» also. Such a MINIMAL effort of decent customer service on their part was all I needed to feel like a valued customer.

I go here often with my wife and she loves the place! They carry Miz Mooz shoes which are quite attractive on my wife’s feet. There are always good sales going on and the staff is normally quite attentive. Personally, I like the fact that they do stock little side items (e.g. interesting hats, nice candles/​soaps, etc) that I find interesting while my wife shops. Never had a bad experience here… even on Last Thursday:-)

Somewhat limited but very nice selection of shoes, jewelry, handbags, and other accessories. Nice sale section (30% off shoes and 40% off boots on my summer visit).

Popular brands from Cydwoq to Fly London, as well as some vegan shoes. What’s not to like? I would make it a stop again next time I come through Portland.

Less than satisfied. This shop does not stand behind buying local. The customer service stops as soon as they have run your credit card. My wife spent over 600 dollars on 2 items and both items should be deemed defective by the store and returned to the mfg. I have been a quality assurance manager for over 20 years and have never experienced an outfit that would be so satisfied with upscale pricing and such poor customer service. I personally will never spend another dollar supporting this business or there local vendor (cydwoq). Contacted the mfg. Cydwoq and they were not willing to make good on the purchase. 48 hours after the purchase.

If only I had a much larger shoe budget… Their shoe selection is amazing. I spent over an hour looking at shoes here. I did eventually find the right pair for me. I love all the brands they carry. The lady that helped me was very nice and gave me some really good advice on shoe care. If I had more time, I would of looked at their accessories more. I bet I could of found a cute hat! I cannot wait to return.

We stopped In this store yesterday after lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Nice selection of shoes and handbags. Can’t give it more stars due to the service needs some improvement. Still love the selection.

The people who run this store are my HEROS. Sure, the store carries cute things, but their customer service is incredible. In the winter, I purchased adorable mittens with a chevron pattern that were handmade in Oregon (feeling horrible about forgetting the name). That very evening, I lost one of them. I spent hours the next day retracing my steps and kicking myself for losing one of a $ 40 pair of mittens. So out of desperation, I went to the store to get advice or contact info for the knitwear company, at the very least.
Not only was the staff NICE to me, they said they would order a second pair for me immediately. Then, the knitwear company HANDMADE me another glove, FREE OF CHARGE. I had it within a week.
Seriously, good customer service is priceless. Both companies deserve major kudos (and lots of your spending money!)

It was a little pricier than other stores, but I guess its because the things they have are pretty limited and unique. The cashier was very friendly.

I accidentally had a «Women’s Shoe Store on Alberta» smackdown this weekend (I popped into both Pie and PedX), and the latter easily won. Hipper, friendlier, bigger, better selection… and with a quirky, adorbs pair of comfy black flats in my size in the clearance area upstairs! (Especially check out the sale stuff if you have humongo feet, like me — the saleslady was right; there are a lot of killer, discounted size 9.5 — 11 shoes up there.)
Both women working there went out of their way to be friendly and helpful; service was outstanding. Plus, they have cute jewelry and purses! Some of it’s pricey (I fell in love with a pink leather crossbody purse upstairs, but it was like $ 120) but there are deals to be had, and I don’t mind paying a little more for on-​trend, high quality shoes. (Almost went home with sunny yellow Born loafers.) A new fave.

Favorite show store in the world currently

over the holidays, I bought a wicked cute pair of grey shoes (chunky, platform, laces,
all my favorites) and was eyeing the same pair of shoes in the two tone black (btw, I seriously do not need 1 more pair of black shoes).
I thougt I would try the black ones on just for fun (yeah right) anyway they were out of my size in the black, but «Laura» said she would order them since they sold out so quickly. I told her not to, since I was not sure if I would take them and she assured me that, it was fine if I decided not to buy them.
In less then 1 week they called me and I, of course now own yet 1 more pair of to die for black shoes. Smart girl that Laura.
i did convince my husband to pay and pretend they were a holiday gift to make myself feel better.

This shop is on my rotation when I come to Portland. Over the years I’ve scored gladiator sandals when they were at the height of popularity, a beautiful necklace, Swedish Hasbeens, and most recently, a scarf/​shrug combo to help keep me warm while visiting.
I always find something I love and the service is super helpful and friendly. One of my fave shoe stores in Portland.

I was strolling down Alberta and made the dangerous decision of just popping into PedX «for a sec.» Since I’m on a budget, I headed straight upstairs to the sale section; I immediately found a pair of boots that I was able to zip up over my calves (not a common find). Wanting to avoid the impulse purchase, I put them on hold for a day (the salesperson was understanding and happy to, even though I had been about to hand her my card and suddenly changed my mind). Went back the next day, made my purchase, and got some helpful, thorough guidance on how to care for my new favorite boots. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and professional.
I’m glad that it’s a bit of a trek from my place — otherwise I’d be broke.

Pretty shoes, but pretty poor service. My first visit to Ped X was disappointing.
When we walked in, the salesperson so engrossed in a conversation with another girl behind the desk — perhaps a friend or a co-​worker, but definitely not a customer — that we were barely greeted when we came in.
Before I go further, I will say that I love the way the store’s offerings are arranged by color. I wish more stores did that.
Anyway, after circling around the shop, I picked out a cute shoe I wanted to try. I plucked the shoe off the shelf and brought it up to the desk. However, the look and eyeroll that the shopgirl gave me when I asked for it in a size 8 conveyed that I was obviously inconveniencing her by interrupting her conversation. Ooookay. Then, when she brought me the shoe, she didn’t check up on me afterwards to see if I needed a different size. Did I mention that we (me, my husband, my friend, and my friend’s daughter) were the only customers in the store? It’s not like it was a busy day in the shop. I would have bought the darn shoes if she’d either a) checked up on me to see if the shoes fit right, or b) hadn’t initially made me feel like I was imposing on her time to ask to try on a shoe in the first place. The vibe was so uncomfortable that we decided to leave.
In many of my reviews, I reiterate that I don’t expect salespeople to kiss my ass or fawn all over me. I really don’t. But if I go into a store ready to spend $ 170+ on some merchandise, it would be nice to feel welcomed. I certainly did not get that feeling at Ped X.
It’s a shame I had such a poor experience, because the shoes there are really cute. But given how I was treated, I think I’ll just hit up Imelda’s or order from Zappos instead. At least with those places, not only do I leave with a cute pair of shoes, but I also get the feeling that my business is valued.

I have an admission, people, listen up!
I am a shoe whore.
I am willing to do unspeakable things to my bank account and/​or credit cards for the sake of cute shoes. Never mind that my collection doesn’t fit in my closet — must… have…more…shoes! And Ped-​x delivers every time.

Gawd, I love this place. Truly shoe Shangri-​La as advertised.
Shop carefully, though — no refunds, only store credit. Better make sure you’ve got the rent paid before you go to PedX. Unless your landlord lets you pay in shoes.
