One night during Baseball season a friend of mine directed us to Pinstripes to watch the Yankees. I was in Heaven from the moment I walked in. This used to be the Jolly Inn, home of dirty Punk Rock shows and cheap beer. I spent many a night watching my favorite bands play and at first I was apprehensive about the change in function. Pinstripes hasn’t disappointed me. The menu reads like a ball park vendor and is incredibly affordable. They have a great patio WITH TVs so you don’t miss your game if you smoke. And the drinks are inexpensive and well poured. And the Yankees Memorabilia is sublime. The owner knows everything there is to know about the team and will tell you awesome stories if you let him. And sometimes they’ll BBQ hamburgers for the customers and sell them for a dollar. You have to check this place out!

As some of you may know, the Jolly Inn is no more! As sad as this is, it’s become a new bar called Pinstripes. Sure, you may be thinking there is absolutely no difference between the two places. Same building, same foosball, same pool… but oh nuh uh, there is a sweet upgrade that knows no bounds! LIQUOR! THEYSELLLIQUOR!!! That’s right, unlike the good ol’ jolly, Pinstripes is comin at ya with a full liquor license. What does this mean? Aside from them becoming the enabler just a stone’s throw away, it means they are no longer a cash only bar. Tragically, acceptance of plastic money means that I can no longer take my beer to go. Well worth it – I will take my vodka at the bar rather than a sixer of Rainier on my couch almost any day.
