Very clean cab. Pleasant driver.
The only downside was we asked to be picked up at 730am, but the driver arrived 45 minutes early at the park entrance! He was a little put out at us, but still friendly.

December 23, 2015. Early morning (5am ish) ride to the airport requested the previous night. They never showed!!! After waiting 45 minutes I called the phone number where I made the request and the guy never heard of me. It was the same guy from the night before! I had to jump in my truck and drive myself last-​minute, spending hundreds on parking.
FFS, this is why Über and Lyft will be a success and these dispatch jockies/​taxi donkeys will go the way of the dinosaurs. Personally I’ve had better success with radio/​sassys cab. No more!

Didn’t show up on time. I called the night before to book but still not on time and I was going to the airport so it’s a problem.

The driver showed up a little early, he was really nice about waiting for me, his cab was clean, and he was just all-​around nice.

Used them a few times, they were prompt and great. But it only takes one error to lose business! Confirmed the cab for 4:30 AM for a flight. Got a call from the driver at 4:30 saying that he was going to be a half hour late and that there was no one else there to take us. Had to take my family to the airport and park the car there to solve the problem. Never again. A half hour late for a ride to PDX?! Unacceptable.

This company is very reliable, friendly, and has clean cars. When I scheduled a taxi, I got person within three rings and was done within 1 minute.
Kelly is an awesome driver. She knows how to keep a conversation and made what could have been a boring ride something I’ll remember fondly from this trip.
She should get a bonus– or at least a Carmel frappé!

Called for taxi to the train. Left myself 20 min to get there for a 10 – 15 minute drive. I walked out the door less than 5 minutes passed the agreed upon time, and the taxi was nowhere to be seen.
I’m not sure if they even showed up. There was no courtesy call or even honk. I asked my neighbor who was outside at the time if he saw a taxi arrive and he said he hadn’t.
I called the dispatcher, and was on hold for the entire 10 minutes until my Über driver showed up. I called back later to speak with a manager, and after waiting on hold another 7 minutes I finally gave up.
I missed my train and had to pay for another ticket. Unbelievable that they are in business with this kind of service. How do they expect to complete with Über? Hopefully they will soon be obsolete.
Avoid this company at all costs.

One of the scariest/​sketchiest cab rides I’ve ever had. Driver took me on back woodsy roads behind the airport. Wouldn’t speak (other than asked me if I drank wine) and kept answering his phone. At some point I got frightened for my safety and started using the find my iPhone app to track my location and send it to someone who could find me if needed. Eventually was dropped off at my destination and he basically kicked me out of the van and sped away. One of the worst cab rides ever. Just wish I had his information so I could report him.

Beware. I entered my home address to PDX. I was quoted $ 13. When I got to the airport I was charged $ 31. They explained PDX sometimes means the train station and gives the wrong quote. Plus driver was 10 mins late. And we reserved a taxi for 5 and they showed up with a Prius.

Could not have asked for a better experience! I recently had brain surgery and my husband couldn’t drive me and I had a major doctors appointment I couldn’t reschedule. I was scared to take a taxi. My driver, Dennis, to and from the appointment was a gem! He put me at ease, we had great conversations (because I am very chatty), and he showed up on time and got me there in plenty of time. I will definitely be a return customer if needed! I highly recommend Portland Taxi!

As long as the Portland Taxi Cab company keeps offering consistent quality service like they have been, they have nothing to worry about from Über.
I travel nearly every single week for business. I live 4.6 miles from PDX and because some of my travel is to the east coast my flights are very early. This morning was typical. My scheduled pick up was for 3:00am. The Portland Taxi Cab was 10 minutes early which is also typical. The cab was fresh and clean, the driver friendly and Pink Floyd was playing on the radio. All was right with the world.

Called to let them know we are going to need a cab at 5 am the next day. (To the airport) Driver was late 15 minutes and he tried to take a detour on a closed road even after we said to take Burnside. Driver was nice, talks a lot; but full of excuses. The lateness was inexcusable because we called a whole day before we needed the cab. (We could have missed our flight!) And definitely not professional when we already had clearly said to take a specific road, but tried to take a detour on a closed road anyway. We don’t know if we’ll take this cab again, but if we do, we will definitely request a different driver. –August 3, 2015 Monday @ 0530 hrs.

I have taken this cab before (coming from the airport to home) with the same driver, he wasn’t late, but he did take a long detour that took half an hour on a very unpaved road, that would usually take 10 minutes if you stick on burnside. He called this the short-​cut. Yeah, he’s running the meter. With a smile, of course.

Super dependable for trips to the airport. I’ve used them about 4 times now, and they’re always a couple minutes early. The online reservation system is a breeze.
During my last trip, I mentioned to the driver about how dependable Portland Taxi is, and he said the owner is really strict (in a good way) about his drivers being reliable and providing good service. The driver said that the airport drop offs are considered desirable fares, and the owner is really clear with the drivers that if they want to be assigned those trips, they better be dependable. The driver then mentioned that he had worked at other cab companies, but was really happy to now be at Portland Taxi because the owner really cares about his customers and providing good service, and also cares about his drivers and treats them well. Sounds like it’s known as the good company to work for, so perhaps that attracts the better drivers. The owner’s pride in running a good business certainly shows.

Called a few days before our trip and asked about a wheelchair taxi, they said they ‘had 4 and to call an hour before we arrived’ (by train). Called an hour, out and got an answering machine. Used my smartphone to use their website to reserve with ‘text reply’. The reply was ‘sorry, but we’re overbooked and cannot respond’.
Not good…

This is the best cab ride I’ve had. The car was very nice, clean, and there was classical music playing quietly in the background. Edgard, my driver was 10 – 15 mins early and gave me a call ahead of time to let me know he was ready to take me to the airport. He saved me money on what was originally quoted on the website, and gave me his card for when I return.
Definitely will use this cab company again.

I just used Portland Taxi Cab for a 4:45 am ride to the airport. Great service!
I was able to book my ride online easily and without entering payment info.
Dennis, my driver, called at 4:30 to let me know he would be right on time! He was a few minutes early and we were off. He took the shortest route, was friendly and positive, and made my trip so easy.
I will definitely be using these guys again and highly recommend them.

Great experience all around! Friendly on the phone with confirming a reservation and on time for the pickup. The driver even left a message to say he was on his way! Which I really appreciated. A «no headache» experience with a taxi company? I’ll take it!

I was worried about getting a cab from my friend’s house in North Portland to the airport at 5:00am on a Sunday, so, after reading a few reviews, I decided to give Portland Taxi Cab a try. I was not disappointed!
Joel was ready and waiting fifteen minutes before my 5:00am pickup, and was friendly and helpful in loading my bags, recommending good airport coffee, and being generally cheerful at such an early hour.
Great service, fair price, reliable. I would use them again.

We decided to take a cab to the airport 3 hours before we needed to be picked up. Decided to try and reserve online since we were at a nice restaurant at the time; got an email confirmation within 10 minutes. The driver called 30 min before our pickup time and asked if he could come 15 min early, and we were okay with that. The driver seemed really nice, but he drove past our pickup point twice and then started to go east instead of west toward the airport… I just think he was not familiar with the area.
The cab was clean and new, and overall we were really happy with the service.
