The Salem Real Estate Group

We moved to Salem from out of state about a year ago for work and The Salem Real Estate Group was incredible. My wife and I arranged to look at houses over Thanksgiving weekend with the goal of being in one by New Year’s. We knew it was a long shot, and that if it wouldn’t be possible, then we would just find a place to rent. I called The Salem Real Estate Group and spoke with Dewey (owner) to see if our quick timeline would even be possible. She assured me that she could get it done as long as we made an offer on a house that weekend. So we flew out and met with one of the agents the day after Thanksgiving. She showed us about 10 houses that fit our criteria and price range. We made an offer on a house that we loved and it was accepted. That gave us about one month to get everything done before we moved out. Dewey is obviously very good at what she does and very well respected in the community because she has all the connections. She lined us up with everyone we needed: broker, lender, appraiser, inspector, insurance agent, title, etc. Because she works with all of them on a regular basis, they were all willing to work with us on a tight timeline. She negotiated closing costs and repairs with the seller’s agent and we came out way ahead. We were still relatively new to the home buying procedure and she walked us through it every step. When we arrived in Salem, our house still hadn’t closed because the seller still hadn’t done the repairs that we agreed on. Dewey worked with the seller to get us in the house before it closed without having to pay daily rent. When we arrived at the house to move in, Dewey had left us a welcome basket with cleaning supplies, household items (toilet paper, trash bags, etc.), bottled water, and snacks. When we finally did close on the house, someone stopped by from the office with a housewarming gift for us that had our names engraved in it.
I am certain that a lot of what we did would not have worked out with a different agent. From showing us 10 houses on a holiday weekend, to corresponding with us in a different state, to getting everything lined up in about 30 days, to sticking with the seller to get everything done quickly, Dewey was incredible. She did all of these things for us even when our price range was on the very low end, thus making her commission smaller. She really understands customer service and cultivating a great relationship with her clients. If/​when we decide to move, she is the only agent I would even consider.
