I had heard of Ristretto months back, all good things, and today went out of my way to give it a try.
The barista was really friendly and greeted me as I walked in the door. I later noticed she did that with pretty much everyone. A nice departure from some of the other PDX coffee shops that seem really standoff-​ish.
Had a 12oz latte and it was definitely in the upper tiers of quality. Loved the layout inside, lots of seating facing the windows with views outside and a big table in the middle. Nicely done.
Overall I’d definitely come back, a great coffee shop.

Found this place by accident. Barista pulled excellent shot for an Americano. I love the intimate space. I got the brew to go.

I’ve been a fan since the days on NE 42nd. Taste-​wise, they’re in the upper echelon of the numerous coffee shops I frequent. Like many of this style of shop — no couches, no food, high end furnishings, — it’s not cozy enough to warrant a more frequent visit. However, I get that the hang out all day crowd is not their target customer.
The two guys pouring the shots and working the register were very cool. Parking sucks in this part of town.
Come on, create an awesome egg sandwich so I can visit more often.

I just went here for the first time and although small, it looked like a good place to work at. Lots of bar seating and it’s opened late (7 I believe, late for a coffee shop). Cappuccino was solid. Thanks will come again.

Nice little coffee shop. I like the feel of the space. It’s got the standard industrial vibe lots of places have these days — polished concrete floors, exposed ducts, a mix of wood and metal, etc. There’s a large, high-​top community table in the middle (seats maybe 10?). There’s also seating along all the windows of this corner front shop. The table and counters are all a dark bamboo, with custom steel work for the legs and foot rests. Ceilings are high, making the space feel spacious, almost cavernous.
Ordered at the counter, and noticed the Steampunk brewing system. I’d seen this once before at a tea shop in Boise. It’s a tucked away a bit, and they charge a premium for it ($ 4). I didn’t see anyone order a brew off of it during the hour or two I was there.
I worked on my laptop for a bit. They’ve got free wifi, but no outlets.
The Americano I had was solid, and service was friendly.

We walked in here and were greeted by really pleasant lady at the Barista. We wanted our coffee hot, as in really hot and she made sure it was ! The coffee was excellent. Love the ambience too.
The buckwheat fig roll deserves a special mention.

I found this place unintentionally as my desired spot was closed for renovation. I was pleasantly surprised with this place and would come back.
The barista was friendly and attentive, greeting me as soon as I walked in with a degree of authenticity uncommonly found. He helped me find the perfect drink for my mood and personally brought it to me. Most importantly, it was delicious.
The vibe is sleek and spacious, clean industrial finish with wood and bolts. Feels like bougee new Portland. Succulents adorn slab tables. Two walls of window seating look out on the street and outdoor seating. Excellent combination of natural and artificial light.
Chairs are hands down the most comfortable in which I have ever sat! Ergonomic to the max, and compatible with my short 5’2′ stature which is a rareity.
Only draw back: not a fan of the music. Distracting and jarring at time. Also a little pricey. But they did do coffee art…

I had extra 30mins on the way to my next stop and i was able to stop by here to grab a Cortada and do a bit of work. The staff is friendly and during my 30mins here (not very busy) the 2 person working seem to be having a great time. Good vibes since they are in my background vision as I work away. Cortada was good, i did like the taste and it was the right amount. not diluted or way too strong. Free wifi is always a plug, but as another person posted no outlets to charge your laptop. If you are planning to hangout here while using electronics make sure you have enough batteries.

I realize there are many better things to talk about in reference to this excellent roastery, but I just want to point out that they have unsweetened milk alternatives for we who can’t have the real thing, and don’t want our beautiful cappuccino adulterated with sugariness.

Super sleek and modern coffee shop on the corner of Couch Street. This was probably our favorite coffee place that we tried this time around in Portland. However, we had to stick to mostly cold brews since it was 100 degrees during our trip. We stopped by for more coffee after brunch at Tin Shed, and opted to try the Beaumont Blend Cold Brew (12oz/​$ 3,
). The coffee was super smooth, with a mild roasted/​nutty flavor– we didn’t need to add any soy milk or anything else to it. You can tell the people working there are truly passionate about coffee, and they were also really friendly. I’d highly recommend Ristretto to any coffee lovers, and hope to come back and try a hot coffee at some point. Parking was easy since a good amount of street parking was available when we got there around noon on a Saturday.

Good vibes in this place. Great roasts prepared by knowledgeable and super nice baristas. Just ask them for help if you have any questions.
It’s also one of the few places with a Steampunk machine (Look up Alpha Dominche Steampunk). It’s really cool to watch and it brews a very good cup.

Love RR, and I was sad to see the old Fremont location close, however this location is much nicer.
You can’t lose ordering the cold brew. Best $ 3 you can spend on coffee.
They have a projector in the main dining area where you can catch Timbers/​Blazer games.

Best coffee in town!
Main gripe was barista there wasn’t very friendly/​helpful, as it was my first time at this location. I had a much better experience at the other RIstretto locations… Also bummed didn’t have much wide selection of coffee beans available.

I asked for the biggest glass of «black» ice tea… I got a urine-​sample colored water with NO flavor served in a small mason jar. If I ordered water and put a drop of yellow food coloring in, it would have been free instead of about $ 3.00.
The place was almost empty, that should have been clue #1. If you can’t man-​up on ice tea, can’t imagine how you kill coffee.
The employee was agitated, and treated us as if we interrupting his day. After the transaction was complete, he resumed his critical taxiing detail.

By far!, this coffee house feels the most like home for me, Long Beach, California and my favorite coffee place there Eyes Wide Palms Open.
This place was warm, welcoming and highly educated that were willing to hate their knowledge. Absolutely not a pack of pretentious coffee snobs.
I stumbled upon a coffee cupping there and was welcomed in with open arms.
I was even given a gift from one of the barista’s after everyone left.
AND…down to my «thank you so much for the gift.» To their retort through sign language «your welcome».
It just felt like my spirit and home.
This experience may keep me longer in Portland, OR.

If you’ve ever had to make a transfer between the #6 bus and the ones that roll down Couch, you know that the timing couldn’t be worse and you’ll have about 20 minutes to kill.
Lo. Behold. What better place to murder that time than sipping some Ristretto? This new location is most welcome and well-​situated. Though perhaps not the best locale to pick up a bag of beans; they’ve been out the 3 times I’ve been in.
