Was just here for a funeral of a close friend and thought you stood back and let the day run as the family had hoped! You need more parking, but understand the circumstances. I never knew such a beautiful cemetery graced our town. Been to the area and driven around the cemetery, but never knew the what lied between the gates! A whole new view on a funeral, which I haven’t been to a lot of but for this style of funeral it was pleasant. *The oldest tombstone I saw was dated 1871. And, it was an Asian dude. GOASIANS!

Thank you, permanent residents of Rose City Cemetery for never scaring the bejesus out of me on my twice daily jaunts in front of your eternal resting place. In an attempt to get back in shape after five long, long months on crutches and lots of drinking and eating crap I go on a forced march, I mean run, twice a day on a two mile loop past the cemetery. I have never once experienced ghosts, goblins or eerie mists. It’s all well-manicured lawn and pretty trees I admit, sometimes I feel like the ghost that pops up in your car when you go through that portion of the Haunted House at Disneyland is going to appear between me and my dog. If it does happen I hope it will be a friendly ghost and we can put our arms around it and not use flash photography. One caveat: I can get a tad bit superstitious and always make sure Firehose’s live version of Superchunk’s «Slack Motherf****er» or Bad Religion’s «Whisper in Time» is playing on my iPod when we go by. I think ghosts like punk but your results may vary. I did make it by unscathed listening to Dolly Parton’s «Potential New Boyfriend» once but I had been drinking.
