Welcome to Rudy’s Gourmet Pizza! Rudy’s is a family-owned and operated pizzeria in Southeast Portland, OR., established in 2006. We use only the freshest ingredients and hand-tossed dough to create a nice, airy, relatively thick-crusted pizza topped with plenty of cheese and your choice of toppings. Or discover one of our Ru’s Specialties. We also have an outstanding selection of wings, sandwiches and salads. And for dinning, we offer a great selection of both, local and domestic beer on tap.

In addition to our delicious homemade dough, 100% mozzarella cheese and homemade sauce, we offer specialty items such as Gluten free crust and Vegan cheese. We at Rudys strive to provide an excellence in food and service with a commitment to the community. Rudys is a proud supporter of both Franklin and Cleveland High School with an emphasis in sports. Great Pizza, great service. Wowzers!
We called in an order for their version of hawaiian and pesto bread.
The 10 inch pizza is like the perfect size for two people. And it was so good! The crust is thick and yummy.
The pesto bread was amazing. Not only did it have pesto, but it was cheesy! Score! And it was just as big as the small pizza! And that was a SMALL. What? So good.
I can’t wait to go back. Great price, great service, great pizza!
Inside they have a few tables for you to sit and some TVs for sports or whatever you want to watch. Oh and just a warning, be ready for an amazing smell as soon as you walk in!

I absolutely love this pizza and food. It is definitely some of the best in all of the SE and maybe Portland. However the customer service is pretty awful. It is like pulling teeth to get them to take your order sometimes. I keep going back because it is that good. Just be prepared to deal with bad service and misinformation from time to time.
I recommend stopping in as opposed to delivery.

First, this review is totally based on Rudy’s gluten free pizza as we did not partake in the real pies. With that caveat out of the way, the GF at Rudy’s was truly underwhelming. It was — I’m pretty certain — a frozen crust that lacked any deep flavor.
The toppings, however, were quite good and fresh. If they can dial in the right crust to complement their toppings — Rudy’s will be a decent GF spot for pizza. Heck, there are so many great crusts on the market now — they don’t need to make an in-house version.

Great pizza and friendly delivery service. Wife had a simple mushroom pizza and I had a make your own pizza. Both were wonderful. The pineapple-habanero sauce was great but we thought it was on the side. My suggestion is build your own. I think it’s more economic that way unless you love ‘hella’ toppings on pizza. We’ll order it again. So many shitty pizza places in the friggin’ city.

This would be a 5 star review if not for the lack-luster customer service, not once, but every time we go there.
Rudy’s is a small, family run pizza restaurant in SE Portland. It’s relatively close to our house, and the pizza is delicious, and the prices are fair. It really is our go to take-out pizza place.
However, that being said, the service is really sub par. We are not the types of people who expect over the top butt kissing in the service industry, but this staff/family could stand to take a course on customer service.
Regularly, a receipt is not offered or given with the order. Frequently we are not greeted or acknowledged when we come in and are not sure if anyone knows we are there. Twice recently, someone went to check if our pizza was ready and then never came back with an answer. We also had a situation where the bill was just a few dollars over $ 20. We handed the gal two $ 20 bills and she said «thanks» and kept the whole thing, I guess assuming she was receiving almost a 100% tip for take-out pizza. We had to akwardly ask her for our change.
I hope the owners review their Unilocal page and take note. We will be back because of the quality and the price, however, we are nearing the end of our rope with the service.

The pizza here is soooo yummy! The quality they put in every pizza is just Amazing. Even the salads have made it to my top faves. Anywhere from the veggie pizza to the chicken bbq is good. I love the small hole in the wall feel and the option to eat outside. Definitely recommend eating here or taking out. My friend is vegan and we never have problems with both getting what we want here.

I first came here because they had vegan cheese options, wasn’t sure what to expect beyond that. The pizza was very flavorful. Their sauce is a bit on the sweeter side, but it’s balanced well so the sweetness isn’t too much. They didn’t skimp on toppings either. I also got their vegan garlic bread, and fell in love. It’s basically a pizza in and of itself, and it’s usually what I order now. It reminds me of a white bread pizza I used to get years ago before I went vegan. The service is good. The people are just really down to earth, you kind of feel like your just hanging out with the neighbors or something when you’re there. They have free wifi too with a great signal. It’s definitely worth stopping by.

RUDY, ARE YOU READY FOR THIS, CHAMP?
I’VE BEEN READY FOR THIS MY WHOLE LIFE!
If you live in Southeast Portland south of Powell and want to order pizza, frankly, your options are limited. Most pizza places view Powell as the borderland of death and refuse to deliver past it. So having Rudy’s ON Powell is pretty damn amazing, because holy crap they’re delicious. I’ve been ordering from them for years, and have converted many skeptics.
Be ye warned: after having Rudy’s in your mouth, you will never want mediocre pizza again. In your mouth or elsewhere.
Their menu is huge. and has lots of Ru’s in it. I can personally and confidently recommend:

Ru’s Shrimp & Bacon
BuffaRu
Pineapple Ru
Boneless wings — garlic parmesan
Elephant ear (cream cheese icinnnng)
And their sandwiches are pretty good too, but you should definitely start with the pizza.
Rudy’s is definitely on the pricier side — but what good pizza in Portland isn’t? It’s well worth it. Trust me. Or don’t, and see for yourself. I think that’s the point of Unilocal or something.

AGAIN…
Great for the dairy-free meat eater that’s too lazy to pick up her own picky pizza. This time I ordered a small pie with pepperoni, Italian sausage, kalamata olive, red bell peppers and daiya cheese. Meh. This was a disappointment. Got delivery, came in about 40 min, delivery girl was nice, pizza was… Meh. There was zero crisp to the crust. Zero. The box was also soaked with grease. The sauce could be a little more flavorful and they could use salt in their dough or garlic, also. But, it’s a nice looking pizza. Just doesn’t measure up to some other places in town. After spending 30 bucks on pizza and mozzarella sticks that were also not great, Looked at tasted like they were the frozen 7 – 11 variety. I’m Still on my search to find actually good pizza in this town!

I don’t eat meat. My husband eats meat but can’t have dairy. Between the two of us it’s hard to find a pizza joint we can both enjoy.
Tonight we decided to splurge a bit and order take-away from someplace a notch or two better than Papa Murphy’s. I ordered the Veggie-Ru with vegan daiya cheese. My husband ordered his standard pepperoni with no cheese (somewhere he got the idea vegan cheese is «chewy» and didn’t care to try the daiya this night).
I called in our order which was simple enough then set out the 4 miles to the restaurant. The gravel parking lot isn’t marked and cars were parked just far enough apart that you couldn’t quite fit a car in between them and so a handful of cars took up practically the whole lot. I squeezed into an area that probably was half of the designated handicap parking space and went in. Our pies were hot and ready to go. I paid ($ 32 + $ 2 tip for the two 14″) and headed home.
My vegan pie was great. I gobbled up ²⁄₃ of my pie before making myself stop. The veggies were fresh, chunky, and abundant. The vegan daiya cheese was gooey and so delicious. I think next time I’d like to try to thin crust to compare.
Hubby thought his pie was «nothing special» and the crust was very chewy — to be fair, he is very very hard to impress. He said he preferred Papa Murphys. Fair enough.
Rudy’s — thanks for offering options for this mixed-preferences couple!

This review is for the gluten free pizza.
The crust was superb. It tastes like REAL PIZZA! Their cheese is great. Their toppings are awesome. We got the Spicy Ru with red sauce instead of alfredo and oh my gosh, YUM!
Reasonable prices. Friendly staff (seems like it is a family owned business). I can’t wait to go back!

Rudy’s is the best pizza is SE Portland! I have bought pizza for delivery from multiple places and have been disappointed. Rudy’s never disappoints. Great pizza! Great toppings. Plus the crust… it tastes like a bread stick!!! If you are getting pizza for delivery get Rudy’s! Always fantastic! Always tasty! Always more than you paid for!!!
Also, the delivery people that work at Rudy’s are so polite and nice. Its great to have a pizza delivered without extra attitude on the side

I’ve had a good experience here both times I’ve tried it. Good taste overall (quality, crust, sauce, etc) and fair prices. A lot like Bellagios, but Rudy’s is more generous on toppings. A $ 20 medium specialty feeds 3 – 4 people, and they let you do half/half specialty. Staff was friendly each time and the place seemed clean.

Their pizza always tastes great. Some of their staff aren’t very friendly or patient on the phone while taking your order… but for the most part, I’ve always liked Rudy’s. Their specialty pizzas are what to go for: the Buffalo Chicken or The Big Ru (like the standard ‘combo’ pizza most places have) are a couple of my favorites.
Their salads aren’t anything special really, but their breadsticks are seasoned really well and always delicious.
They also have gluten free options and vegan cheeses available (I appreciated this because not every pizza place especially has dairy free options).
Consistently tasty, local pizza in SE Pdx, wahooo!
