Rick Waldrop is a licensed journeyman electrician in the Northwest. Rick has received factory training from Honeywell, Ademco, DSC, G.E., Fire Lite, Silent Knight, Digital Watchdog, and H.I.D. Rick has never had a service problem or testing issue he could not handle. He is a valued service technician who has good relationships with multiple fire marshals in multiple jurisdictions. As service and installation manager for Security First Alarm Rick Waldrop is able to help keep your home or business safe and secure.

Worked with Security First to get our legacy alarm system updated and activated. They presented a few different options over the phone, and then came to the house a week later to install everything. They were able to use some of the old window sensors, which was a nice surprise. The new touch screen system looks great, they installed it where we wanted it, and everything went very smoothly! Thanks, will definitely recommend to others!

The estimate and installation went very well. First, when I called, a person answered the phone, no phone tree. The woman was very helpful in explaining their system. She was able to come out right before a holiday weekend to discuss our alarm options. She didn’t necessarily recommend the most expensive option. She asked about our lifestyle and recommended options and setups based on how we lived. She really cared about getting us something that would work for us. The installation was the following week. They were on time. They did have to come back to finish, but that was our fault because we didn’t have wifi yet. They came back 2 days later.
We have a ranch style house with tons of doors and windows. The cost was 1⁄3 — ½ of everyone else we called. They offered us all doors and one motion sensor, free installation, free system, and windows and extra motion sensors at cost. Plus, the direct phone number of your «agent» you work with in case you need anything.
We haven’t had an alarm (false or real) to try out the system yet, but so far we are very pleased with the experience.

After spending a lot of years with a big national chain for our small business security system, I’m so glad to have found these guys! Somebody actually answers the phone when I call. They have answered every question, install was on time & easy, and things are working the way that Security First said they would. Pricing is great, too. The company that I work for hired Security First to install our security system and did a great job. When I called them back to get a quote on another service, Rick told me that he could do it but that he knew a few people who would meet my needs a little better. I’ve never had a security system before but I just bought a new house and felt it was a good idea to have one for peace of mind. I called several companies for comparison but when I spoke with Tami at Security First Alarm I immediately had a good feeling that she was honest, straightforward and would steer me right. In addition, their prices were comparable or better than most and their contract was the most flexible — you can transfer it or take it and the equipment with you! Tami met me at the house and was a delight to work with. She didn’t try to «upsell» me, she had me start out with the basics, then said she would contact me in a couple of weeks to see if I was content with what I had or wanted to add more sensors, etc. I went with the Honeywell Total Connect system — my favorite feature is being able to operate the system via my smart phone. I haven’t had occasion to see how the setup works in an emergency and I hope I never have to… but if I do, I am confident it will work as it’s meant to! Thanks, Tami and crew!

Called Security First Alarm and spoke with Rick regarding the specs provided by a local building inspector. His quote for the job was reasonable and nearly half of one of his competitors.
He actually suggested we go in a direction that he could not provide, (fire walls) because it was the most practical. Rick is an honest man with integrity! I would do work with him in a heartbeat!

I wish all my contractors were as organized, responsive and flexible as Security First. They installed a fire and security alarm at our new school building in Johns Landing. We bid with 4 firms and Security First was very competitive and the most responsive from the start. Then as we got into a full major renovation of the building we had many schedule changes and short deadlines to meet Fire Code requirements for schools. Rick and team rolled with the changes with patience and delivered. We couldn’t have opened the school on-​time without Security First being so on the ball.

We had Security First Alarm up grade our home security system in our Portland home. We went with a total connect system that has a tuxedo keypad (doubles as picture frame). We love the remote access, as we often forget to arm the house until we are rolling out of the drive way! Rick was so patient in explaining how the system works and I love the ability to check on things when I am not home:) I would recommend Security First Alarm; they have good prices and old fashioned customer service. One more thing, I just received a $ 250. refund from my home owners insurance for having a monitored system, Woohoo!

I had an alarm problem, and called this place since that have experience with my home alarm. I asked them if they could come to my home to help me, but the guy who I spoke to walking me through what I needed to do over the phone with huge success. He could have come over and do exactly what I wanted him to do, but saved me the expense by doing it over the phone. In the future, I will definitely use this company again!!! Thank you!!!
