Premium eye care experience and professional staff. Eye examination was very accurate and the staff was knowledgeable about the frame styles and what frame type would look best for my face. A touch on the pricey side but everything I’ve received has been very-​high quality.

I have moved around a lot and had to find eye care everywhere I went. Since moving here to the Portland area, the first place I went to was South Waterfront Eye Care. This is by far the best experience I have had with an eye care office. Very professional, friendly, and caring staff. From the doctor to the front desk, and everyone in between, made me feel comfortable in every process of being a new patient. When you first walk through the door, you notice a modern atmosphere thats colorful and well lit. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family.

Such a great office. Easy to get an appt and the staff is so friendly! Everyone explained what they were doing and why something was needed every step of the way! I never felt I was being «sold» to and was given lots of options.

Love this place! They have a variety of really unique frames and if you are looking for lightweight frames this is your place! They probably have the lightest frames I have ever put in my face! The people that work here are very friendly, honest and wonderful. The place is nice, spacious and welcoming. One really cool thing this place does is that they usually have different paintings in the walls by local artist and every couple of months they do a social event where you get to meet the artist and mingle. Sometimes in these social events they offer great sales (I’ve only been to one and they had an awesome discount on diff frames) I absolutely love this place, if you are looking for an eye place this is definitively a fantastic place to come! ;)

The doctor and staff are above top notch. I wanted a doctor who took a minute to see me, hear my concerns and take the time to properly diagnose my eyes. The front office staff had my insurance information and took the time to answer all of our questions. I have recommended them to a few friends and coworkers, who also had a great experience.

I had an exceptional experience at this clinic. The ambiance combined with the great staff by far merrits 5 stars. They really took the time to get my medical history and find the best type of contact lenses for me. Even though my medical insurance did not have vision benefits they still gave me a discount. The staff is so polite and friendly, I have recommended many friends already.

Superb in every category. People: everyone goes out of their way to be helpful, and Dr. Mila is professional, kind, and always remembers my wife and me. Eyewear: great selection, but more than that, the staff knows their products and is dedicated to finding you the right frames for your lifestyle/​budget/​etc. They have occasional trunk shows (at which I just bought two new pairs of glasses) that are fun and give you a tremendous selection of new frames from which to choose. Care: Dr. Mila is knowledgable and I’ve always felt in good hands with her. They even have an office labradoodle named Arlo. What’s not to love? Going to the optometrist has gone from a chore to a joy.

I really would give this place 6 stars if i could. Firstly, the ambiance of the space itself is fabulous: Well lit, big windows, spacious, easy to get to, and modern yet comfortable. During my visits, Dr. Loussifova and her entire staff went above and beyond to ensure that I received the best care possible.
To start from the beginning: Mahsa was the first staff member I spoke with over the phone. She was warm, professional and efficient when collecting my insurance information and got back to me very quickly. Emily greeted me when I arrived for my appointment and she was very charismatic and engaging, offering me beverages during my wait and wonderful conversation.
During my appointment with Dr loussifova, she was thorough and informative (and I must say, I have never seen a doctor who’s wardrobe and demeanor was so stylish! — seriously). Long story short, my eyes were too inflamed from contact overwear to conduct a proper eye exam. Therefore, she prescribed me drops to reduce the irritation and gave me a weeks worth of daily contacts (for FREE) and asked me to come back in a week to resume the exam.
I went to get my prescription at a local pharmacy and was rudely and incorrectly told by the cracked-​out pharmacist that I was uninsured and that they suspected me of insurance fraud (which wasn’t the case and definitely deserves a whole different type of review for this particular pharmacy). They then took my prescription and turned me away, leaving me with no way of getting the drops from anywhere whatsoever. Upset, I called the SWEC office and spoke to Rishad. He was understanding and after speaking with Dr. Loussifova, generously offered me the eye drops for free from the office (let it be noted that these drops were not cheap).
I picked up the drops and was able to come in the next week and get my exam finished. After, I was able I choose glasses that I absolutely love and we all had a laugh about the pharmacy fiasco.
All in all, I truly feel the staff at SWEC cares about their patients and my experience was testament to that. I will certainly be back and recommend them to anyone looking for a great optician!

I’m so glad I was introduced to this shop. Dr. Ioussifova and her colleagues were extremely kind and professional during each visit. I was blown away by their beautiful, unique and stylish eyewear selection. I never felt rushed or pressured to make a purchase. They weren’t just looking to make another sale, they made sure that I had exactly what I wanted and needed. They were patient and extraordinarily helpful each step of the way.
They are devoted to providing great customer service and high quality frames. I’ve recommended South Waterfront Eye Care to my friends and family, and highly recommend anyone reading this to go check them out as well.

Great service and product selection. Dr Ioussifova and her team go the extra mile to provide professional and personal care. They have been excellent in helping to navigate insurance options. The staff is knowledgable. Appointments are always on time. The facilities are modern and inviting. They back their products and go the extra mile to ensure satisfaction with glasses and contacts (I use both). I’ve been to many Optometry studios; this one comes with the highest recommendation.

I had a series of problems with this place but I gave them a second chance and it was worry it.

I was happy to find frames I love on a budget here! They have an in house brand from $ 150 – 250 that are stylish and quality made. I had my eye exam over at Blink but couldn’t find frames under $ 350 so I brought my rx here. The staff are really friendly and helpful. They made me feel confident that I looked as great as I felt in the glasses I picked out.
They even have some locally made wooden frames and they are also reasonably priced! Check em out, they are fun to try on and look fantastic.

First and foremost, the location and ambiance are top (we live in the neighborhood). I also like that SWEC goes out of their way to carry high quality, lesser known and local brands of eyewear. They don’t deal with Luxottica purposefully – which is cool.
I must say, while the team was professional they made it extremely difficult to conduct business. I had to visit their office 4 times to renew a contact lens RX – 4 times!
First they told me my contact lens fitting wasn’t covered; when I called Insurance they insisted it was. On my second visit I shared with the receptionist that insurance stated it was covered; she said she would have to relay the message to «Accounts Receivable” – AR? really? this is a small business not fortune 500. On my third visit I was informed that I still had a «balance on the account”– Ok, so your people never called to verify my insurance coverage and now you are expecting compensation? On my 4^th visit, I was told there was a balance on the account. This time it wasn’t for the exam; but for the actual contact lens order – for which I paid, IN FULL, on my 3^rd visit. Apparently they lost record of this? How? Lots of nickel and dime-​ing going on – when you omit pertinent information needed for a customer to make an informed decision– these are unethical sales practices
If you look, it appears that most of these reviews are bought or incentivized (reviewers only having 1 – 2 reviews) or are personal friends.
Mila was knowledgeable and professional but the way this business is managed leaves much to be desired from a customer experience perspective.

After waiting several years to replace my old glasses I decided to check out what South Waterfront Eye Care had to offer. They delivered. I now have lovely frames by Masunaga that Rishad and Emelie helped me pick out with immense patience; I am finicky when it comes to frame size, colour, etc.
I also had a thorough eye exam from Dr. Mila to renew my contact prescription. She brought to my attention a stigmatism that had gone unnoticed by other optometrist’s. I am lucky to have that pointed out due to its impact on the frequency to which I will be able to wear my contacts. Dr. Mila was even kind enough to provide me with a deep cleaner for my contacts that uses a solution with hydrogen peroxide. It even had a snazzy little case that suspends your lenses in place.
So if you are in the area, go stop by South Waterfront Eye Care and check out what they have to offer you!
