Do not go here! I went in October and was told I could purchase a $ 30 monthly unlimited spray membership, but I would need a parent to co-sign on the contract. So I came back in December with my mom and was told a monthly unlimited spray membership would be $ 60! WHAT? My friend goes here and pays $ 30 a month for unlimited, so they tell different customers different things. Overall, they gave terrible customer service, I was extremely unhappy, and will never come back again!

Do not go to this place. My teenage daughter went here for a spray tan and was treated very rude by the employee. They took advantage of her. She learned a good lesson tonight to remember that she is the customer

Is it possible to give no stars? First off, I have been a member for going on 2 years. I went in in November to cancel mine and my husbands memberships since we haven’t really used them in almost a year. I was told by the clerk at the counter at the Boom Fitness location in Hillsboro that I could freeze our accounts instead. Pay $ 5 a month for each account and if in 3 months still wanted to do so, I could just close them. So that’s what I did. I went in to close them and was then told that I had to pay for a whole other month of tanning. I called corporate and explained the situation to them. I went in to originally cancel our memberships but because of what their store rep told me, I didn’t and instead froze them. They would not stand behind what I was told by their employee. They did not take into account that I had been a reliable paying customer for a year and a half. Now, they are calling me every month to tell me that I am past due. I have informed 2 of their employees that I was cancelling my membership and it still hasn’t been done. These people are shady. Do not go to Suns up tanning. There are plenty of good tanning stores in the area. Go to one of them.

I haven’t personally been to this location but the location I go to was not on Unilocal. I love Suns up! The prices are a little on the expensive side($ 100 for a bottle of tanning lotion, yikes!) but it’s worth it. High quality lotion, well educated employees and an arrangement of great beds to choose from! Suns up is the place to tan!

I finally got a hold of a woman named Hannah at the Corporate Office who was actually very helpful and friendly. We came to an agreement on the amount owed and she went ahead and cancelled my account for me. While she was very helpful, I doubt I will ever be back to this salon again.

Let’s start with the fact that you have to either bring your own towel or purchase one from them for $ 3. I’ve tanned at many places over the past two decades and have never once not been offered a towel. Tanning = sweating. Towels = necessity. When I first went there to get pricing, the woman wrote the«sale» prices down on a piece of paper but wouldn’t let me take the paper out of the store. I wasn’t ready to buy yet, so I had to memorize what she wrote down and hope it was all still valid the next day. If you sign up for the super low-price monthly plan, watch out for the $ 50 stop/start fee. I just buy a certain number of tans instead to avoid those types of fees. I agree with the other poster about the problem of not being able to turn off the face tanning feature. I never want to tan my face. They were pushy on the lotion front. I have severe allergies and flat-out cannot use them. Still, they wanted to argue about it. When I said I wanted to use their least powerful beds, the woman showing me around said they’re basically junk and I shouldn’t ever use them. Um, then why do you have them? I think she needs to work on her upselling skills. The fingerprint thing is pretentious and stupid. Who cares if I give my tans away to someone else, as long as that person is over 18? It’s nonsense. I go here because it’s close to my house and the hours are really good. And that’s all.

Suns up tanning has low quality beds in my opinion. I’ve tanned at other places and found it to be relaxing… Even have fallen asleep. In suns up beds I literally feel like I’m roasting alive. I come out of their beds dripping sweat(and I don’t sweat often!). It’s so hot in there I’m literally counting down the minutes until I get out. In addition I’ve rarely been offered a towel or anything to sop up the massive amount of moisture from their torture tanning beds.

Not a bad place. Clean. Friendly. Open late… I was a little annoyed that the girl at the desk neglected to tell me the bed I pay for doesn’t have face bulbs I can turn off, instead she kept trying to get me to buy the lotion after I told her SEVERAL times I dont tan my face… but other than that, I’ve gotten a pretty good base tan, considering I’ve gone a total of two times. I like the whole fingerprint identification too, pretty cool.

The atmosphere and beds are great. Salons and rooms are clean but the employees are overly pushy. They are always trying to sell me a new lotion. I don’t have time to be hassled every time I tan. I want to get in and get out… this can’t happen when they are trying to sell you the latest and greatest tanning lotion. I don’t care if it smells good or has jewels on the bottle. I have one that works and I am not in the position to buy more when mine works fine. I tried to cancel because I was not tanning enough each month for it to be worth the money. Of course the gal talked me out of it and offered me $ 9.95/month to tan on weekends only. I did that for about 6 – 7 months and I only tanned one time. So I basically paid about 70 dollars for one tan. It is just not in my nature to tan very much which is my problem, I know… but I shouldn’t feel pressured if I want to cancel. Once again I hesitantly went in to cancel… completely this time… and the boy who helped me said«what are you going to do when you get depressed, and it starts raining, and you are lacking vitamin D, and you are pale!!!» Feeling very angry I told him calmly that I was going to continue doing what I have been doing… get it the natural way… He told me I could pay a dollar and then cancel. When asked why, he said that I had an outstanding amount of one dollar that needed to be paid. In the same breath he also said that I shouldn’t have been charged because employees aren’t supposed to charge anything to an account, and that it wasn’t my fault. So it’s not my fault?! But I have to still pay the dollar?! Yeah… I will never go tanning at Sunsup again. Nor will I recommend it. The only reason I gave them two stars is because they are clean and nice inside and I respect that. I do not however, respect their employees.

Save your time and trouble and go somewhere else. This place is so unprofessional, and whatever you do don’t give them your credit card! The owner is fuli Wallenberg and if you have any problems she will not even give you the time of day… And they have a lot of problems! Please read my review under the Beaverton location and you too will go somewhere else!

Tanning beds are nice but the associates are pushy! They kept trying to sell lotion after lotion — they even made a note in my file that said«does not like lotion» which was brought to my attention every time I went in and somehow triggered the associates to push the lotions even more. It was pretty frustrating!
