Terrell Brandon’s Barber Shop

my husband used to get his hair cut at this shop years ago, but stopped because of the long waits (the wait used to be crazy). The barbers in our opinion have always been on point so he decided to give it another go when he was desperate for a cutt and made an appointment with the barber Joe. Much to our surprise he is in and out the shop within the same hour. they must have had a come to Jesus moment with the scheduling. I really like the front desk lady she’s very nice and laid back. As a woman I hate barber shops but this place feels very family friendly and more grown up than other places I’ve gone to with my husband for a haircut. overall he says he’s so glad he decided to give this establishment another try.

I tried about 8 different barbershops when I moved to Portland from San Francisco. Most of them all had the same qualities: unwelcoming, unfriendly, and unprofessional. At TB’s shop, the facility is kept clean, the staff is friendly and inviting, and they actually operate like a business. They care about their clients! They aren’t always on time, but neither am I. Bernard has been cutting my hair for about a year or so now and he does a great job. Best barbershop in Portland.

This place is hilarious. I waited over an hour for a shave at one in the afternoon. There was one barber on, and rather than do the job and get to the two people waiting, he would stop what he was doing with his client so he could tell stories to his friends, all while gesturing with his now-​free hands. Then, when it was (finally) my turn for a shave, he just used the clipper for a bit and said «ok, you’re done» No actual shave took place, and the trim with the clipper was very rough as well. By then, I was already very late for where I had to be, so I just figured I’d cut my losses and book it, but I’m not happy to have paid for the wait, the brusque service, and the «shave» in which no razor actually took part. Laughably bad.

Sorry but I have to knock this place down a star. The reason is because my barber was ALWAYS late for our appointments. He would ALWAYS come in late on Saturday morning and since there were always 2 or 3 appointments before mine it would make everybody late. He was always habitually late, and even the other barber and customers would joke about it. Sorry but I don’t have time to spend my whole Saturday morning waiting around for a haircut. I still give the place three stars because the other barber always seemed to be there on time, but I now go to a different barbershop.
