History

Established in 2013.

Township and Range was established in 2013 by Woody Wheeler and Prescott Allen as an American-style tavern in an inviting neighborhood setting. The restaurant’s name is taken from a geography term.

Chef Jon Beeaker has been cooking in Portland for over 15 years, honing his skills at Bluehour, Saucebox and his own restaurant, Acme. He then spent 6 years managing kitchens at New Seasons Market. He is also on the board of Portland’s Chefs Collaborative. Pastry chef Melissa McKinney worked with Jon at Bluehour for several years before opening her own property, Criollo Bakery.

The owners and staff of Township and Range believe that Oregon produces some of the world’s best products — from beer, wine and spirits to meats and produce. With that in mind and with an emphasis of working with and supporting other local businesses, Woody, Prescott, Jon, Melissa and the entire staff have sought to create a neighborhood spot where everyone is welcome.
