At first I was a little turned off. we went to sit in the couch area. I liked the alone low-lit candles and leather couches. However, no one came to help. So, we bellied up to the bar and things got much better. Great tar-bender! Great Drinks and the fact that Tool was playing when we walked in, I am hooked! The ambiance is great if you are ready to settle in for a cold one.

COMPLETERIP-OFF!!! So i go to this place that was once the great Berbatis, to see what has replaced it. It’s a fucking disaster from the moment I get there. I stand in line to get frisked before I’m I.D.ed, then the bouncer«confiscates» my little pocket knife from work like I’m some common street hood(I never got it back either). I meet this gorgeous bombshell there, struggle to get over-priced drinks, tap selection was shitty, and the cadillac margarita was way too salty, and it wasn’t even worth dealing with the crowd to go back and fix it. So round two comes along, we were sitting outside so we got the waitress this time, still salty on her drink, so I had to listen to that, then I get up to answer a call on my cell, and step out to the street for a moment cause the music is waay too loud and I didn’t want to be rude trying to yell over it. Then the bouncer won’t let me back in unless I go through the fucking line again. Even though he admits he knows I’ve already been in, told him I have drinks and a girl at a table 5 feet behind him, I have to go through a long line. The girl I was with gets up for like two seconds to come see what’s taking me so long, and the waitress buses the FULL drinks she just brought us!!! We were only a few feet from her and ignored us. So we go to leave and the bouncer doesn’t know anything about my pocket knife. «Weapons aren’t allowed on premise.» The waitress doesn’t know anything about our drinks. Total waste of time and money and ruined a good with a great gal. I totally feel like I got scammed. The drinks were too much money, poorly made, and they seem to do everything they can to rotate you right out the door so they can burn through more customers on their first round. Berbatis, was a great place, with class, and ambiance, and good mojo. This new place is like the opposite. It’s as if the a shitty New York night club and a shitty underground Germany night club had a rape baby together while doing drugs through out the entire term and this is the deformed mutant offspring playing in it’s own shit. Thanks for ruining a good thing.

I checked it out for the first time for the house music wednesday night. Great music. Great service from the bartender. Although it never got busy and most of the people there seemed to be regulars, It was still a great night. I absolutely love the size and layout of the venue with old industrial brick building feel.. beautiful french colonial windows in the front of the building, a lounge feel interior, a small outdoor patio to chill in the front. Two different rooms to showcase different types of music. I see so much more potential with the venue with a little bit of imagination, renovation, and better marketing. Keep the dark, underground vibe, but clean it up to make it less divey.

Any place that plays Cypress Hill and Fly Girl in the same night is alright with me. Strong drinks too!

You are just a skeezy dive bar to me now. The high ratings are due to your Happy Hour. What happened? Why did it all become a short cook’s dream job all of a sudden? And the prices? OMG. LOL. WTF. You know that Mi Mero Mole or any Mexican food cart’s price point is priced the same as your Happy Hour, right? Even your main menu sucks. NO. The only thing you got going on is decent music. That’s it.

This place is a horrible disgusting piece of sh$t! The bouncer out from tried to get us to buy him off to get to the front of the line. Proceeds to kick us off our table cause they«sold it off» to a group. The group never bought bottles or anything, they were bros drinking tecate. Okay here is the worst part, ladies-stay away! First of all, the bouncers that watch the dance floor do not respect women’s security. Random dudes can come up and grope you. If it is unwanted and you make it know, the security won’t do anything. Here is what literally made me sick to my stomach. I asked to use the bathroom that was by the dance floor but the bouncer said they were at capacity on the dance floor. I get that, no big deal. Then he says«but if you finish me off, I can let you in» while grabbing his junk. I was so mortified. I walked away and told my husband and friend. We left right away and I cried while walking to the car. I can’t believe this is acceptable behavior at a nightclub/bar that people seems to really like. Please ladies, respect yourself and pay a cover to a more secure nightclub.

HAHAHAHA!!! $ 6.50 for a 7+7, on a Monday night, when it’s dead at 12:30am? Byyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeee. What’s sad, is people pay these prices, too. I guess it’s in the«Entertainment District»(puke), and people from out of town who stay at the neighboring hotels will totally pay these prices. 2 stars instead of 1, for gratefully reminding me of why I don’t drink downtown. Thanks, XV! Kisses.

Bar 15 has been many different things over the years. When they first opened I and fellow coworkers had many, many of our birthday parties here. At that time it was just a nice bar. I’ve seen it go up and down, expand and shrink. Today it has settled on being a few different things. At times it’s a great place to get a quiet drink with surprisingly decent food. I enjoy the pizza. Other times it can be a very loud and fully packed night club. This is a spot that gets busy on off days, even a Tuesday night if you’re looking to make friends. Lots of the luster has worn off and it’s teetering on becoming a dive bar but I think what’s keeping it out of that zone is the management, employees and especially security staff. They run a tight ship and getting 86’d from there is something that happens often.

After a long walk around town and over the bridge we stumbled upon this place hoping to use their toilet facilities. The bartender was super friendly and had no problem accommodating the need. It was about 6pm so the ‘Roxbury’ type patrons were not in sight yet. Sat down for a couple beers and watched part of ‘Orgasmo’ and ‘Team America’ as a few more people started to enter the bar. Bartender does a smooth hard sell on alcohol and the associated businesses the owner has, but he was charming and amusing about it so we didn’t mind. I’d stop here to piss again any day or night.

This place has a fantastic lounge area with couches, and a really decent Happy Hour(4−7pm daily). It is also pretty convenient to public transit(always important when going to drink downtown). All of the food items I’ve had there were pretty good – awesome drinking food(esp. love the garlic fries, yum!). They also have a tv by the bar if you happen to be into watching a sporting event while you drink with friends.

—— Happy Hour Review — — - If there is one bar in downtown that hasn’t really changed over the years is this place. Where other bars are either closing/remodeling/vanishing — this bar manages to stay consistent. Happy hour goes from 4 – 7 daily and has various food items at half off. The garlic fries can feed a small group while the buffalo chicken strips has more meat than the typical heavy breading. $ 6 for signature cocktails are a winner here in my book. For sweet and spicy, the hot passion is a delectable creamy concoction. The sweetness from the rum and the spiciness from the vodka hot monkey is an excellent fusion. The grilled pineapple is great for those who love fireball whiskey and pineapple flare. For those who just want basic wells, they serve their purpose with a $ 4 price point. The private lounge area is great for birthday parties and large gatherings. They gladly accept reservations in advance for the space to use. The best time to go here is definitely when it’s happy hour as it’s never crowded and has an ultra chill vibe. For those who like to watch sports, the huge flat screen TV does the trick in the main area. The bar turns into a night club in the late evening on the weekends. Some people may like that too but it does get too crowded for me. After attending on and off for 8 years, this is still one of my top happy hour spots in downtown!

Pretty awesome little place. Love the relaxing leather couches. It’s really intimate. Always good music playing. The bartenders are awesome. Never a cover. Never waited in a line here either. I’ve never had the food but the specialty drinks are delicious. The dancefloor is great. It’s not too huge. And the djs are also always awesome. Such a better alternative to those whore houses on couch street.

Not for their food but for the bar service on a Saturday night. I was asked to pay $ 30 for 3 people to walk straight in or wait in line. There’s no cover for the bar but the security guards need to make money. Waited in line for 45 minutes while those groups willing to pay got to go straight in. What happened to you guys?! Not coming back. I hope you guys don’t continue to keep this up.

Great sound system, multiple DJs, 2 separate dance floors with a nice variety. What’s not to like? The Tuesday night I was there had EDM in the back, with a variety of hip hop, old school, and more in front. Their tofu tacos were amazing!!! I mean AMAZING! Their specialty drinks were outstanding and unique. I will definitely be going back.

Not going to lie, a tad bit embarrassed that I go to a place like this. It’s crawling with creepy men who will grab you and borderline molest you. Despite all of that, it always has free cover, good tunes, and cheap drinks. Make of it as you wish…

I want to give this a 3.5 stars. It is better than«A-OK» but not quite on the«Yay, I’m a fan» level. This bar is next to Berbatis by Burnside and 2nd. It has some outdoor seating, which is nice because I do like people watching on this particular block. The two previous times I came, it was quiet and barely anybody inside. But then again, it was still daytime. I came here twice in one day, once during the day to grab a drink and meet up with some friends. The second time was after all the July 4th fireworks, we wanted to grab a drink and wait out the crowd before leaving downtown. There was an amazing crush of people. Very clubby kind of crowd. I forgot how downtown club people can be some time. Give me a dive bar any day. The music was fine. The drinks were strong. We were there with two other friends, both guys, and there was quite a crush at the bar. We were able to get drinks(it helps to be a cute girl) but our friends didn’t have much luck. Times like this, I am reminded again how much I don’t like clubbing. Been there, done that. Would I come back here again? In the day, yes. At night? No. Not unless I’m trapped in a girls night where I have no say in the matter or there is a really kickass awesome show(which I don’t see happening any time soon but you never know).

God why am I even here? I don’t club, I’m not much of a drinker and I’m freaking hungry. Fiancée, a friend and her friends wanted to go clubbing. They asked if I wanted to go. Hell why not? Let see how many chicks will come up to me to dance. Zero. Lonely guy in the corner playing with iphone. Fifth wheel. Crowded, which is expected to be when it’s free.

Oh, XV. My go-to in downtown Portland. I was back this past weekend and this was my first stop on my Friday night out. Of course, as soon as I walk in, I run into someone I know(That shows you how much I used to frequent this spot). Didn’t stay long enough to get me a Hot Passion, but that drink still remains one of my favorite cocktails. If you’re trying to get f’d up, get yourself some Samuel L. Jackson’s. I’m not allowed to have those anymore. Lol!

Dirty! I mean in a good way! This club could have been in Miami, because it’s got that hot, crowded, grinding atmosphere. Like all downtown bars, if you start a tab, and try to leave with the rush, you will be waiting for at least half-an-hour in a crowd, not a line, but a crowd, in which other people will attempt to push past you, and you will eventually have to push past others, just to pay for your goddamn drinks. That being said, I can’t hold a grudge against XV. It is what it is, a sexy dirty little club on the corner. Clear heels. Neon dresses so tight you might see some booty crack. Men who try to sneak up behind you and pull your ass towards them — as if you wouldn’t notice your buttcheeks slowly sneaking away. The drinks are good, very strong, but good if you like em stiff.
