I love this place. Lauren is a true artist. I’ve been going to her for cut and color for about a year and a half. She’s super fun to talk to and the space is really beautiful. I feel like she understands current trends, how styles will really look on me and keeps me looking my best. I really do appreciate a stylist that takes the time to understand what you want and also give constructive input instead of just saying «ok so bangs?» and start cutting. I always leave there feeling hot.
Also I have super thick hair and she doesn’t keep my cut time to the same as someone with half the amount of hair I do. I’ve been to some the top salons around town treat you like cattle and don’t create enough time for you and you leave with bad results.
I’ve never met a stylist so dedicated to me looking good… what more could you ask for?

Ellie is simply amazing! She was so calm and delivered what she promised. She is extremely professional.

Since stepping foot in Zabic I will never trust another hairdresser again. Been coming here for almost three years now and as long as Lauren has been working with me I’ve always loved my hair. Before Zabic my blonde hair was a mess, with highlights and bits done by multiple hairdressers, each trying to fix what had been done before.
I’m the kind of client who doesn’t know a thing about hair– I don’t know how to articulate looks I want, I’m too shy to tell a hairdresser that I don’t like what they’re doing or that I don’t like the end result. I don’t have this problem at Zabic– Lauren is like a blonde hair psychic, she’s able to listen to my horrible descriptions of what I want and extrapolate enough from my rambling to give me the perfect cut, tone, and style every time. It’s a beautiful thing when the person doing your hair is able to look at you, your face shape, your skin tone, your personal style, and be able to give you EXACTLY the hair that matches and brings everything together.
Lauren and Ellie both are also extremely knowledgable and give tons of advice and tips on how to keep hair (especially processed blondes like myself) healthy at home. There’s an amazing spread of high quality products available at the salon, and so far I’ve loved everything they’ve recommended.
Aside from all that, getting your hair done with these girls is straight up fun.
I’m also not a person who writes reviews online (this is my first) but Zabic is worth it.

Lauren has been styling my hair for years and I’ve never been disappointed! She helped me grow out my hair with honey blonde highlights, took me platinum and back to my original blonde again, and maintains the health of my hair flawlessly through it all. Love her!

Lauren is amazing! Precise, detail oriented and a perfectionist. Beautiful salon, great conversation and most of all, great haircuts! Easy to book appointments, and she really takes her time, I never feel like she’s just «fitting me in». She loves what she does and it really shows.

I found Lauren about three years ago just after I went from really dark back to red and she nailed the color with the very first try. Her salon is a wonderful respite to a busy day, I always leave there feeling remade!

These girls are total babes, and complete experts. You can expect to come out looking like an absolute fox. They are experts on everything from cutting to color to extensions, and they even do sugaring now — the ouch free hair removal solution. The sweetest too, they totally take care of you. I don’t trust ANYONE else with my hair.

The day of my college graduation, my normal stylist wouldn’t take me 5 minutes late (Portland traffic, ‘nough said.) I was frantically dashing in and out of salons trying to find someone with time for a walk in when I stumbled upon Zabic. Ellie greeted me and calmed my scattered mind, sat me down with some water in her chair and got to work. Everyone was SO sweet and encouraging, going from big bleach blonde, to a dark warm brown. Ellie took her time, and I left feeling like a million bucks. I get compliments all the time, my hair is shiny and exactly the color I was imagining. I will be back for sure, it was worth every penny!

I’m so glad I found Zabic Stylehouse! I lost all my hair due to chemo and I really wanted to get extensions as soon as it was long enough. I had a couple of inches of hair and all of the other salons I talked to said it either wasn’t long enough, or didn’t return my call. Ellie at Zabic got back to me right away and consulted with me about options that wouldn’t look incredibly fake. Such a fun day when I was able to go in and get my hair back! Ellie was so supportive and positive, on top of doing a fantastic job. I love my hair, and the team at Zabic makes sure you know how to care for your extensions.
Good extensions are going to be somewhat pricey, but I’ve done a lot of comparing and I’m completely happy with their pricing. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Lauren is an amazing stylist. I’ve never liked my hair as much as i have since I started going to her. Lauren has been my stylist for over 3 years now. When I started, I had very damaged hair from coloring, that wouldn’t grow for years and remained shoulder length. I originally came to Lauren for extensions, wearing extensions actually helped protect my natural hair enough to grow to my mid-​back and I no longer need to wear them. My hair has never been as thick or healthy. Now I just see Lauren for the occasional cut and balayage, which I get a ton of compliments on. I also love that she serves espresso drinks and beer/​wine. I always have a great time with Lauren when I go to get my hair done!

I found Lauren when I first moved to Portland, 3 years ago. At the time, she was at a different salon, and I had done extensive research to find a stylist that could help me fix my blonde. I haven’t looked back since. Lauren is AMAZING. She was not only able to give me the shade of blonde that I wanted (yet somehow had not been able to get done previously), but she helped me nurse my hair back to health, while coloring it at the same time. I seriously love her. She has since then opened her own salon, and if you are reading this, debating whether or not to make an appointment with her, trust me when I say your search is over and you have found the one. Her assistant, Ellie, is also incredible, and really, how can you go wrong when you go to a hair stylist that actually owns the salon and runs the entire operation? They are both extremely passionate about what they do and you WILL NOT be disappointed.

I will never go anywhere else again to get my hair done! The girls at Zabic are amazing! I had always wanted to get highlights but didn’t want to compromise my natural color. Ellie did an amazing balayage color on my hair and it was perfect. It looked beautiful, natural and was super easy to maintain. Lauren and Ellie know their stuff. I always leave feeling better than when I walked in. I wish I could give more than five stars!

I have been seeing Lauren at Zabic Stylehouse for over a year now and LOVE her. When you see her for the first time (and 2^nd and 3^rd and for the rest of your life), you just want to share her with everyone you know — which is why most of my coworkers and friends see her too. I carry her business cards in my wallet because I am always getting compliments on my hair.
Not only does she engage with you while you are in the chair in a meaningful conversation, but she is able to take what you picture or imagine your hair looking like, and actually accomplish what you want on THAT visit. It’s not a «process» or a «goal», it just magically happens. We call her The Wizard. For example, I went from reddish/​dishwater blonde to a beautiful silver/​grey ombré that I absolutely love.
I recommend Lauren to everyone. Not only is she a blast, but her space is super fun, clean, and cool to be in. She uses great product, but doesn’t push it on you as you leave. She also offers complimentary beverages, which I very much enjoy.

I’ve been going to see Lauren for almost 4 years now. I found her via rave reviews on Unilocal when I first moved to town and needed to be saved from an awful cut. At the time she was still at another salon. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing her move from working someplace to opening her own shop and watching it grow.
She is fantastic! Her passion for what she does shows and I consistently get compliments from strangers about my hair, even when I’m due for a cut. That’s the mark of someone who knows what they are doing. It grows out well and looks good at every stage. If I bring in something new to try she asks questions, studies the pic, and makes sure to look at it throughout the cut to make sure I’m getting what I want. And it’s always perfectly adapted for my crazy thick amount of hair.
I would never go anyplace else and trust her abilities and judgement completely. If I were to leave the area, I would come back just to have her cut my hair.

Lauren is amazing. If you want blonde then this is the place to go. She knows what she’s doing! Everyone there is fantastic and the salon is so stylish, I will never look for another place again!

Lauren is the shizznit, absolutely amazing. She’s a master of color and has done an amazing job on my blonde hair, many different shades. I was sad to move to Seattle and haven’t been able to find anyone that compares to her that I’ve been driving to Portland for the past 2 years when in need of a new color. I made the mistake and let someone else here touch my hair, and am paying for it now dearly. If you live in Portland and are looking for the best colorist in the city, do yourself a favor and go see Lauren!

Lauren is absolutely AMAZING! I had the worst hair possible, I went platinum for Halloween (Hello Harley Quinn) and then decided to re-​dye it a reddish brown, the brown faded and I was left with a brownish reddish blondish (mostly reddish ends) fried hair-​do that I always wore in a pony tail with a hair band to cover the rest of my hair.
I went to Lauren after researching extensions and colors and cuts, (I want the best my money can get) So after reading many reviews and researching everyone who claims to do the «best extensions in the industry» I walked into Zabic without an appointment (perhaps I lucked out that day, or most likely the people who work at Zabic are just THAT AWESOME to allow me to walk in and get an extension consult on the spot)
After talking to Lauren about the extensions and the length I want I went home with an appointment about a month out to order the extension and then get them placed (because I get paid once a month) I was so excited, but my problem is waiting a month I get to thinking of all the awesome ways I could change my hair! So I called and asked about the extensions I was going to order (the 18″ ones originally) and we decided the 22″ ones were better as we could cut a little off and leave my hair longer if I wanted, but then I wanted to dye my hair gray…(oh boy)
After texting back and forth with Lauren for about 15 min we decided it was best for me to darken my hair and order the darker extensions in 22″… So thats when I went in on February 18^th got my hair darkened and the results were OH MY GOD… my hair hasn’t looked this healthy in FOREVER (WITHOUT A CUT/​TRIM)
So the following week on February 24^th I went in for the extension application…
the process was painless and Lauren keeps up an excellent conversation… I might add I was practically dying in my chair from laughter with the conversations on the 18^th and 24^th… she’s hilarious, spunky, friendly, kind, genuine and honest! (How often can you find honesty in a industry that is looking to make money off the consumer no matter how good or bad the [consumer] may look)
I have gotten tons of compliments on my hair in the last 24 hours, my hair blended flawlessly with the extensions and was styled beautifully! Its easy to work with and its not a hassle to have these extensions at all (Some people claim extensions require too much time, money and work) I admit the extensions are a bit spendy… but MUCH MUCH MUCH CHEAPER than most places in portland. The thing that scared me was if Im not paying 1K-​3K for extensions will they look like crap? … not at all… Lauren has the best quality extensions (100% Remy human hair) and the most talented gift blending, styling and placing them.
I must mention without rambling too much, Ellie cut and colored my mothers hair (my mother cut her own hair, it was… gross… to say the least. hahaha) and Ellie fixed it with no problem at all, my mom walked out of Zabic so happy and feeling beautiful!
She looks absolutely amazing; as my mother should. (So props to Ellie!)
Zabic Stylehouse is my new go to place, I am for sure a life long customer. I love Lauren and her entire team that works at Zabic.
I highly recommend it, and I rarely write reviews unless I was entirely moved by my experience (which I was)!!!
Lauren is a hair genius, goddess and expert! And an awesome person!

This time I had Lauren color my hair and wow did she do a phenomenal job. She is a true artist who takes pride in her work. I will never go anywhere else.
I will also say that she has great product in stock but has never once pushed anything. Only when asked about something did she rave about it.
