Business Owner

I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. I studied psychology and graduated from Syracuse University in NY.

I am a licensed massage therapist in Oregon. And I am nationally certified as a NCBTMB (Nationally Certified by the Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork).

I am also a level-​4 Kushi Institute Macrobiotic counselor and have certifications from Lima Macrobiotic School in Japan. I personally follow a macrobiotic lifestyle to keep myself healthy and happy. I enjoy sharing macrobiotic wisdom with all my clients.

With extensive training and experience, I now apply all the skills I have learned to identify and solve conditions of human body using massage therapy and Macrobiotic Counseling.

I keep educating myself in my chosen fields by attending continuing education classes from highly respected trainers and masters in the U.S. and Japan.

This is my second visit to Yuichi for 90 minute massage. Initially, I expected it to be relaxing type where hands just glide over the body and your half asleep — as that has been my past experience at other locations. Yuichi speaks Japanese and so do I, so we’ve had engaging chatter about life, health, and anything that wanders into my mind. I’ve yet to inquire about the macrobiotic and hypnotherapy, but it is great his trained in so many areas.
I also requested deep tissue massage to work on my muscle, as my muscles are very tight from long hours at desk job/​school 60 hours a week, compounded by some weight lifting and running. He’s very intelligent and well rounded individual, so 90 minutes passes by very quickly! It is a very through massage including fingers and toes. I love the warm massage table with blankie I am surprised I haven’t fallen asleep yet. Price is little steep so I can’t go as often as I’d like, but once I’m done with school and have stable career, I hope to make it a more regular visit. Next time perhaps after my 15k run for a reward :)

Over 30 years ago, I lived in Manhattan and had a very stressful job. I started getting Shiatsu massages and became an advocate of getting these treatments as a method of releasing stress and promoting relaxation. From time to time, I have had Shiatsu massages but never as impactful as the ones I received in NYC. Until yesterday. I started going to a gym on a regular basis four months ago. Earlier this month, I started experiencing severe pain around my knee. I went to a physio therapist who talked a lot, gave me some exercises and didn’t do anything to alleviate my pain. Yuichi worked every muscle and joint in my body. He felt and studied my pain and determined what was causing my problem. He determined the pain I was experiencing was not caused by my knee but a result of an injury I had had on my back. He dug deep but constantly checked with me to ensure he was not pressing too hard to cause even greater pain. I walked out of his office feeling cured and back to my normal self. It was quite transformational. While I am not an expert in Shiatsu massage, I do know when my whole being feels better and that is precisely how I felt having spent 90 wonderful minutes with Yuichi. I will most definitely be returning and hope to make his work a regular part of my well being.

One of the Best massages I ever had (and I had many). So happy to have found this place and had a great deal $ 60 for a 90 min massage. Yuichi definitely knows what he is doing and knows all the pressure points. I had pain in my left arm which was stemming from my back. He worked out every knot. Was feeling so much better the next day and the day after that, pain free. Highly Highly recommend. His regular prices are a little steep for me. I will be going back, just not as often as I would like.

I just had a 90 min. massage with Yuichi, and it was AWESOME! I originally thought, 90 min. was too long, but I think every single muscle in my body was worked on. This is not your foo-​foo spa massage with scented oils, but a therapeutic massage that is good for your body.
He’s also dedicated to helping you be healthy and will give you advice (if you ask) on how you can live a healthier life, but without a sales pitch to sell more services.. you get the advice for free. Very friendly, approachable and easy to talk to.
I will definitely be back when I relocate to Portland.

This is by far the best massage I’ve had in years… maybe even ever! I am an athlete and like my massages to be more than just relaxing. Yuichi did such a fantastic job of making me feel comfortable and working out all my kinks and tightness through his skilled combination of massage techniques. This is some serious bodywork and I’m so excited to recommend him to all my sporty and non-​sporty friends. :)

Best ever. Exceptional. As an athlete and someone at the keyboard all day, I was in chronic pain. I picked Senju by chance — due to the Unilocal reviews and because it’s in my neighborhood. What a difference! It was so far superior to any massage I’ve ever had that it’s hard to call them by the same name. I’ve had massages at many expensive places around the country, including spas, physical therapists, etc. Yuichi Fukada is just miles above. I didn’t realize a massage could be truly therapeutic rather than just relaxing — which is fine, but why not have your body receive what it really needs? .Yuichi is so knowledgeable about health and understands physiology so deeply, that he is a partner in your health. He’s also the consummate professional while friendly and interesting. A 90 minute massage where I also learned how I can improve my health (and I’m not a neophyte on that) — just exceptional. Thank you Yuichi.

I have been getting massage therapy for over a year now at Senju Holistic Healing. The owner, Yuichi, is well-​educated, extremely knowledgable, friendly, and has helped to relieve tension in my muscles from my stressful job and active lifestyle. I had problems with my shoulder and hamstring from playing tennis and running, and he helped fix the problems, which allowed me to continue to do what I most enjoy! He also does macrobiotic counseling and hypnotherapy. I have had a few hypnotherapy sessions to help me with mental relaxation techniques and having self-​confidence during tennis matches. He promotes a holistic healing approach (massage, hypnotherapy, and macrobiotic diet) and has also given me advice on what I should and should not eat to maximize my body’s performance. I highly recommend Senju Holistic Healing if you want to lead a more healthy, active lifestyle or if you want to alleviate stress in your life.
