He is Honest, conservative, made me feel so comfortable and I could trust him completely .

I was due for a cleaning and i looked on Unilocal for dentists nearby. Dr. Joe Nguyen had amazing 5 star Unilocal reviews so I called for an appointment and they got me in for a cleaning and dental exam the next morning! Dr. Nguyen’s staff are so friendly and made dentist visits a lot more enjoyable than previous places Ive been to. They also have a screen tv on the ceiling so you can watch shows while youre getting your teeth cleaned. This will now be my go to place whenever I need a teeth cleaning.

Every time I go see Dr. Joe and his staff, I’m impressed. They are quick, efficient, friendly, and do an incredible job. I’m very happy to have such a great dentist who works with my schedule and keeps my smile looking great :)

First visit and Great experience. I’m pretty busy and they fit me in and took care of me.
What sets them apart is their service and they show you everything they are doing.

Dr. Joe is wonderful! Had a cleaning and exam today. I have nothing but positive things to say. Julie, my hygienist, was wonderful, and when my baby (6 month old came along) started to cry, the ladies came in to help hold her! That is a full service office for you! Thank you Dr. Joe and team!

What’s up with all these dental offices that don’t take dual insurance? Anyway, Dr. Nguyen does, and he fixed me right up. I still have more services that need to be done, and he’s not too shy to tell me. He’s a good dude, and his staff are chill and professional. Glad I found this spot.

I have been going to Dr Nguyen for more than 15 years and would never go to a different dentist. I now live in Point Loma, and could walk across the street to Liberty Station to see another dentist, but I wouldn’t because Dr Joe is the best there is.

I normally don’t leave reviews on Unilocal,but had to for Dr Joe. He’s actually a caring dentist that doesn’t nickel and dime you and is willing to work with your insurance! I have anxiety when it comes to dental work because I’ve been screwed over by so many dentist in the past. His staff and work are amazing you won’t be disappointed !

This review is strictly for the way the receptionists handled my calls. No qualms against the dentist because I didn’t meet with him. I’m sure he’s great from all the great reviews. But time is money. Two different receptionists handled my calls this morning. Transfering my call to a different receptionist without as much saying she is, asking me for my name again when I had already provided. The final straw being halfway through my call, when I asked for a moment to look for & provide her with insurance info, which professional actually goes on hold without so much as asking to be on hold ?? They could do with some professionalism there. Won’t obviously be returning :(

Since I found Dr. Joe’s dentistry through Unilocal about two years ago, I no longer dread going to the dentist. Everyone at his office is genuine, professional, and skillful. They do a great job of creating a comfortable environment and tailoring treatments to each patient. You never have to worry about unnecessary sales pitch and awkward product placement from this office.
My husband and I have each had composite bonding work done for our chipped or uneven teeth. The results are fantastic and look very natural! Dr. Joe has also handled my severe orthodontics case with Invisalign and even threw in custom bleaching trays after I completed Invisalign. Now, I have the perfect bright smile!
It’s challenging to find a dentist that both truly cares about YOUR teeth and demonstrates talent you can trust. I’m beyond pleased with Dr. Joe and his team. Highly recommended!

Dental work gives me great anxiety, however, coming here to Dr. Nguyen’s office somehow isn’t too bad at all. I’ve had great experiences overall. The receptionists are very helpful when scheduling appointments, the dental hygienists are very gentle and thorough in their work, and Dr. Nguyen is fantastic overall-​professional, honest, and caring. This office really cares about their patients and I’m very happy to have found Dr. Nguyen. Thank you for your great work!

I went to Dr. Nguyen for a second opinion on a crown and I was glad I did as I was initially told that it was another tooth that needed the crown. A few days after the initial appointment, I was in tremendous pain and Dr. Nguyen was able to squeeze me in for a provisional crown treatment. After a 3 week wait to see whether a root canal was required (thankfully no), Dr. Nguyen took images to get the permanent crown made in his office. However, the images showed that the thickness would be quite small and Dr. Nguyen decided to get a bruxir crown made off site as it is a stronger crown. Long story short, it has been over a month since the placement of the permanent crown and it is doing fine.
I just had a cleaning and an examination at the office and hygienist as well as Dr. Nguyen were very thorough. The staff is courteous and a pleasure to work with.

EXCELLENT experience with Dr. Joe — it’s no wonder that he’s got so many perfect scores. I picked Dr. Joe specifically using Unilocal 5-​star reviews as the deciding factor because I had a couple of bad experiences with other dentists in the recent past and I just dreaded having another bad experience. I wanted someone that was going to be about as good as it gets. Unilocal led me to this office.
After calling and enlisting as a new patient, I was scheduled to come in for x-​rays and an initial evaluation. That meeting went great. Got my evaluation and scoring, and walked away with an estimate for future service needs and costs. As a result of that, I was scheduled for a routine cleaning next, and then two fillings a bit later. I waited until all three appointments were done before writing this review.
The cleaning was awesome. The hygienist was super kind, very thorough, and resulted in probably one of the most comfortable and enjoyable cleanings I’ve ever had. I’ve had some rough cleanings in the past, so I can say I’ve experienced the spectrum of good and bad, and this one was excellent. I even commented to my wife (who is a dentistophobe) that she should check him out for her needs. I experienced no after pain or discomfort.
Next, I had the two fillings done about a month later (this week from the date of this writing). One on top and one on bottom. Both were handled efficiently by Dr. Joe. The appointment was about an hour or so, with virtually no pain or issues, and after the meds wore off, I was eating lunch with the best of them. No problems in the week after, and the fillings look great.
Honestly, I wish I had found Dr. Joe a decade earlier. It’s been an awesome experience from start to finish, and I think I’ve found my forever-​dentist. :)

After my dentist for the last 15 years retired, I went to see Dr. Joe based on the high ratings on Unilocal and Google. The reviews were spot on and I was really impressed with my initial visit. Dr. Joe and his staff were all very friendly and made it a great experience. The technology being used throughout his office was very impressive and actually gave me more confidence in the treatment being provided. Dr. Joe has great bedside manner and I really enjoyed talking with him personally and professionally. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Joe to anyone looking for a great dentist!

We moved here a year ago, and finally made time to find s dentist. I should mention how scared I am of needles. Anyway looked on Unilocal,found Dr Nguyen and come to find out I needed a couple of fillings replaced. Uighh! When I got there I was so nervous, but they calmed my fears and I had 0 pain or fainting or any of the usual bad stuff I usually have. best experience ever at the dentist!!! Thankyou Dr Nguyen! Dr. Nguyen is the best dentist I’ve ever had in my life and believe me I always had lots of problems with my teeth and had so many different dentists. My last dentist was in Boulder, CO and turns out he not only overcharged me for the crown he made, but also it was a very crappy job. Dr Nguyen had to fix it.
He sits down and gives you the best options to pick. He is very honest, does great job with high-​tech stuff, and a very good educator. He explains everything so you know what is going on. His team is very polite and helpful. Overall they make your visit easy and better.
My husband and I both like him a lot! We will go to him as long as we live in California. I highly suggest him if you need a dentist. You can’t find a better dentist than him!

I had a broken tooth, and Dr. Nguyen was able to get me in as a new patient very quickly. At one point they even offered to get me in quicker if I was in pain, luckily I wasn’t. I found Dr. Nguyen to be honest, kind, and educational. He was the first dentist to provide before and after pictures so I could actually see what had changed. He also provided me with options so I could decide what method I prefered to fit my budget. They even showed me the prices, so I could make an informed decision.
As long as I am living in San Diego I definetly see keeping him as my Dentist.

After spending an extended stay away from California, I had no choice but to visit a local dentist in this other state to have a check up and cleaning. The dentist that I visited had zero personality and told me that I needed two crowns. Shortly after this I had my teeth cleaned with this dentist office and it amounted to about a 20 minute cleaning which is about a 3^rd of the time that I normally used to get at Dr. Joe’s.
When arriving back home in San Diego I promptly scheduled an appointment with Dr. Nguyen who gave me a thorough examination and stated that I did not need any crowns and gave me a clean bill of health. The very next day I had my normal 1 hour teeth cleaning at their office.
Dr. Joe is an extremely knowledgeable and honest individual and I would highly recommend that you visit him even if you have to drive a little way, it’s totally worth it to have someone that’s not going to rip you off and is going a treat you with the dignity and respect that you deserve.

When I first started coming here a few months ago, I was guarded.
My old dentist was a dick. My orthodontist was a dick. I was used to dealing with condescending and dickish dentists.
Joe Nguyen is not a dick. In fact, this may be the most polite, mannered, and thoughtful dentist I have ever had in my entire life, and I think I am going to send him a Harry and David’s fruit basket.
