Poway Muffler & Brake Complete Auto Service

Scott and his team are awesome, and they are doing so much more than mufflers and brakes. They did major work on the drive train on my van after an accident, and I have been going back ever since. He has also worked on my wife’s Mercedes and helped me update my classic mustang. The prices are reasonable and more importantly Scott does not sell you stuff you don’t need. I am so very happy to have found an honest auto repair shop and I will continue to refer my friends to Poway Muffler and Brake!

This shop is awesome! The manager Scott really took care of my car. They diagnosed my car and gave me an estimate in less than 30 minutes. I had my brakes done and my rotors turned. They use the best parts and the cost was unbeatable. I highly recommend this shop. I’ll be taken my car back for all my car needs! Thanks Scott for taken care of me.

I’m such a big fan of this place! As a woman at a mechanic, it can be vulnerable but I feel really safe here. Scott has consistently made me feel comfortable and now I trust him to do all the service needed on my car. Thanks Scott!

Scot is very honest and charges a reasonable price. Put on my Corvette (C6) new Borla Exhaust system and new Toyota RAV4 Lmt new Chrome tip. Excellent fit. He took his time to installed it center.

My catalytic converter was stolen from my Tacoma. They welded the new one in. Great job fast service.

Put an exhaust on my 1991 Honda CRX si. Managed to keep the muffler, so it was CAT only. Still pricey, but it’s a 22 year old car and it’s a CA compliant CAT! So, no complaints here. Sounds great. Nice people!

These guys are my definite go-​to for exhaust system work. Took my eurowagon to them after dealer told me the catalytic converter had a hole… PM&B showed me it was just the resonator — cost $ 250 instead of nearly $ 2000! And the work was done right and on time.

Going to the mechanic straight up sucks and everyone will agree… but Scott at Poway Muffler and Brake makes it so much less suckier.

Go see Scot at Poway Muffler and Brake! Scot will be totally honest with you. He will not over charge you, or claim you need something that you do not. I have been having my cars repaired since 1970… I was just 15 years old and living in Honolulu. I have never found a more honest shop! Thank you Scot today… for my tranny flush on my Classic 1976 Cadillac El Dorado!

Customer needs to be on their toes! Needed front brakes — and roter turned, I knew that. So I called and made an appointment. When I got there it was like I had just walked in off the street. They didn’t know I was coming, told me it will take some extra time to get the pads delivered — this should have been my first clue. I left the car there. Later in the day they called said it’s done. I asked what the rear breaks looked like, per the work order, and they said they would have to check. Called back late in the day and said I really needed rear breaks. But I didn’t have time to leave the car overnight.
Took the car on a trip. came home and decided to check the rear breaks. They were fine! AND I DISCOVERED THEY HAD ONLY HAND TIGHTENED THE FRONT RIGHT LUG NUTS!!! One lug nut was about 10 turns from falling off!!! If that wheel had fallen off on the trip that could have killed someone — like my family and me!
Never again!

We found this place after the local auto parts store recommended it when we needed a catalytic converter for a family member.
We went in and they determined there was no issue with the catalytic converter and then spent two to three hours diagnosing only to determine it was likely something wrong with the torque converter. They went on to say they weren’t 100% certain and suggested a few places we could go that may be able to provide a firmed opinion.
After spending the better part of an afternoon diagnosing everything for us, they sent us on or way without asking for a penny. We offered, but they refused.
Obviously impressed I went back for service on my own car. They serviced everything for less than the going rate (that I am aware of), fixed a few miscellaneous things for free (bulbs, a bent tailpipe) and checked a number of additional things that wound up being fine.
These guys did a great job and were exceptionally honest. We now have a new place to bring our vehicles for service.
