There are various ‘Quest Diagnostics’ locations and I usually frequent the one in Encinitas. Thanks to my handy dandy Unilocal app there was a closer one to me. Yay ! I tried to call and schedule an appointment(1 – 800 line), but they didn’t have any openings on the days I wanted. They are also closed on the weekends. Boo. I took a chance and decided to go as a ‘walk-in’ hoping the wait wasn’t too long on a Friday afternoon. I needed to get this over with so I might as well suck it up. Parking was plentiful(thank goodness !) and the facility is located inside the ‘Poway Pomerado’ building Suite 208 off Pomerado Road. You can’t miss it. ‘Quest Diagnostics’ is located on the second floor. Don’t be lazy like me and wait for the elevator. That took forever. I realized the staircase would be faster and opted for that instead. Extra workout in. Done. The office is not hard to find. First impression: It’s clean, a few chairs in the waiting room and a check-in desk with a ‘non-verbal’ receptionist. I sign-in and take a seat. Guess what? I was the only one in the waiting room. YASS !!! Apparently, everyone was on their break ?? I only saw a couple staff members working. I was finally assisted by the receptionist. She speaks !!! She seemed a little flustered and all over the place. I honestly felt like she was in a rush and wanted me in and out quick. Being a social butterfly that I am, I did get to converse with her while she collected my insurance info. She’s a nice, Filipina lady who I got to practice my Tagalog skills to. Afterwards, I pretty much didn’t have to wait that much longer and was seen in just a few minutes. I needed to do a follow-up test for my Vitamin D and the lady who drew my blood worked efficiently and quickly. I noticed that this was the pace of the office. I guess with two staff members, you have to be on top of everything and work at a fast rate or you’ll be behind. Okay guys. I fear the sight of blood and needles, but she made this experience stress-free for me. No fainting today. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Nice ! ***I got my test results within a few days and my Vitamin D levels are normal ! Sweet ! Verdict: I got lucky. Timing is everything. I will be going back here for future tests and perhaps book an appointment in advance just to be on the safe side. Recommend more staffing. Overall, 4SOLIDSTARS from me !!

I made an appointment for 3:30pm but I messed up and thought it was for 3:45pm. Oops! There was only one person working so there was no one here to check me in or get all my insurance info. When I walked in I braced myself for a ++wait++ because there were 4 walk-in’s, looking tired; like they had been waiting for a while. I was in a forgiving mood since I really just want to get this meeting with the vampires over & done with. The waiting room was very clean but with 16 chairs, it only had a few magazines(with titles I have never heard of. For ex. «Field and Stream», «Audubon»). Bummer since I like to catch up on celebrity gossip and fashion while I’m waiting on medical stuff. True statement. Anyways. I was exhausted from work so I didn’t mind the chance to play with my phone and fantasize about getting extra sleep this weekend. I was surprised there was only one person working so I was a little hurt there was no meet and greet moment with anyone(don’t u guys know who I am?!!). I signed in and proceeded to try to log into their wifi. I observed the walk-in’s around me getting called to the back by one person(FYI, only 1 – 2 ppl work here at all times. CRAZYRIGHT??!). When I brought this up to the phlebotomist later, she responded with«well we have other locations». Wha??! Well, I guess I got lucky because I let all the other people go first since I was late, and I was in and out within 25 minutes. I’m giving a five star rating based on my experience solely. The chick who took my blood was super fast and she only had to poke me once. I have small veins that can really give phlebotomist a hard time so I give this girl props because she got the job done.

The service here is terrible. No fault of the poor 1 lady that works here. 1 staff member is not nearly enough to deal with the amount of patients. She works very hard to try and keep up but there is just no way. And her predictions of wait times are way off. She told me it would be 30 minutes. I waited for 2 hours and then had to leave because I couldn’t wait any longer! Never coming here again.

This place sucks! They only have 1 lady working and although I can tell she tries it’s not good enough for the amount of patients waiting. I waited about 1 hour and when it was my turn she made me wait longer because some lady came in bc they forgot some labs, it was so unfair I had to wait longer for some other patients demands. Never coming here again I rather go somewhere else!
