Grixy’s Grooming

This was the first grooming experience for me and my long-​haired cat Oyster and it went great! He was terrified of course, but her manner was very gentle and friendly (she’s got that whole ‘cat whisperer’ vibe down pat) and he did really well. She explained what she was doing every step of the process and did a wonderful job cleaning up his matted and tangled fur. Now that I’ve been once I will definitely go for the full lion cut next time.
I was the only customer in the place, which I am assuming is by design to minimize pet anxiety. And her prices are very affordable! I will definitely be back — thanks so much!

Consistent quality grooming. Elizabeth is kind and patient and the price reasonable and inline with others in the industry. My former Aussie actually used to get excited to see her! That speaks volumes :)

Grixys is the only place I trust with my dog. she’s pretty anxious when it comes to being left in weird places but she’s comfortable with Elizabeth which is honestly the most important thing to me! also, super reasonable prices!

I recently moved to Providence and was in dire need for a groomer for my skittish Shih Tzu. I found Elizabeth and Grixy’s Grooming through Unilocal and brought her there for the first time today. From the second we walked in Elizabeth was warm and welcoming and made Chloe feel right at home. She did and amazing job with her cut, she took care of her matted sections, her ears and nails, and her attention to detail is remarkable. Grixy’s is not like these big chain groomers with dogs shaking in cages, she does one dog at a time and makes sure everything is perfect before they leave. I called on a Saturday and Chloe was in on Wednesday. Finding Elizabeth and Grixy’s was amazing and I will never bring Chloe to anyone else ever again! If you have a dog, cat, rabbit or basically anything with fur you must go see her, you will not be disappointed and you and your pet will leave with all smiles! I can’t thank her enough!

My dogs were getting extra stinky and their fur had become quite matted in some places. I only have a few days off during the week and most of that time I try to spend it resting. I have now gotten to the point where I really needed to find a place to give them a wash and groom. I had driven by Grixy’s multiple times. It doesn’t seem like much on the outside but you realize that you don’t need much to provide great service!
I was able to give them a call and book my appointment a week ahead of time. They gave both my retrievers a heavy duty bath, smoothed out their fur and clipped their long hairs in all the right places. They gave me choices in terms of shampoo and ultimately the price was comparable to the other places that I have been to. My dogs appear to have been treated well and the service was friendly. Unfortunately they did not take credit cards and I ended up paying with checks.
For the location and the end product, I am definitely coming back to them again for my dogs’ next grooming!

I have a rescued poodle with PTSD issues :(but Elizabeth demonstrated immediate rapport and sensitivity upon meeting him. When I picked my boy up afterwards, he was at ease and comfortable, which astonished me! Elizabeth’s grooming work was impeccable. I unreservedly recommend her.

I have a skittish Pomeranian who doesn’t trust most people and because of that I try and do most of her grooming. Well, bad idea. She got matted and sad and I really didn’t want to go to a big chain pet store. I saw grixys on my way to get my morning coffee and gave them a call. Elizabeth was very nice and accommodating to my schedule and my dog was taken great care of and returned to me happy and full of energy. Couldn’t ask for anything more. We found our groomer! Thanks!

There are not many people I would trust grooming my cat Bob, but the owner of Grixy’s Grooming (Elizabeth?) made both me and Bob feel comfortable as soon as we walked in the door. She was so patient with Bob’s antics, and she took such good care of him, I felt like she treated Bob as if he was her own. She also booked our appointment separate from her canine appointments so Bob wouldn’t completely freak out, which I really appreciated.
Bob is a long-​haired feline, so I started off by just getting him a professional brushing to get the excess hair off him, and to get the knots out of his fur (anyone who has a long-​haired cat knows what I’m talking about…). Once it gets warmer, I want to try getting him a lion cut!
Grixy’s seems to be pretty reasonably priced, and they’re in a convenient location. I’m just psyched to have finally found a groomer that grooms cats and not just dogs; they are hard to come by!
