Love Love Love the views but the food is so disappointing. We have been over and over to this place and have decided the best thing is to go have drinks there and then eat at Black Cypress.

Went here tonight and had an awesome experience. Our server Chaz was very friendly and easy going. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip which was so creamy and worth every penny. My boyfriend got the cougar gold New York. It was one of the most moist and juicy steaks I have ever had. I had the ridge burger which I can also say was outstanding. Over, worth the money in my opinion!

A, good 3 out of 5. Almost everything is average. Also I think their price is about 20−30% over the prices they should charge.

I went to this restaurant for at least three times, one lunch and two dinners. Overall they put too much cheese on every dish, so I felt full but really had nothing except cheese. Once we ordered steak and it was so tough that the knife didn’t work on the steak. Poor food quality. Their view is spectacular so if you are a fan of golf and want to enjoy the Palouse view, you can give a try.

One of my favorite place I will miss in Pullman. Great ambiance, nice view of the Golf Course, especially nice during the summer and especially when they have their happy hour. The customer service is superb. I was waiting for a friend and the waitress gave me a glass of water. She didn’t have to do that, but that is something I greatly appreciate. In addition to the customer service, the food served is excellent. One of my favorite there is the Sweet Potato Fries, a must try and the calamari. They can improve on providing more selection on the happy hour drink and more selection on appetizers. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would come back here again when I visit Pullman.

Do you eat? Do you drink? Do you lunch? Banyans on the Ridge at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club at Washington State University offers all the best of Pullman in one lunch setting: WSU and sweeping panoramic views of the Palouse. It’s located in the large clubhouse for the golf course overlooking the 18th green with plenty of window and outdoor seating available. The restaurant was a perfect choice for a business lunch meeting in Pullman offering decent food and a quiet atmosphere to «do lunch.» I had a Turkey Havarti BLT Sandwich with a bowl of warm French Onion Soup from the Lunch Combo«pick two» menu($ 8.25). The sandwich featured toasted Wheat-berry Bread cradling sliced Turkey, Bacon, Havarti Cheese, Lettuce and Tomatoes … perfect for a meal in the Spring. The soup was cheesy and yummy. I’d get either again when I’m looking for a lunch with a view in Pullman. Lunch anyone?

Probably the best ambiance in Pullman, but it stops there. The food quality simply does not match the prices. This is a great place to go if you like extremely salty food and you like to through money away on an less-than-average meal.

I went back the other day when I was invited to lunch with a friend. Can’t fault the view, for this area it’s top notch. Food still awful. Service still implausibly poor. Still bad.

Service was slow, we had a decent sized group and our waitress kind of ignored us so we were always out of water and didn’t get to order appetizers forever(maybe because large group gratuity is automatic?) there was only one vegetarian option but the food was AMAZING! I wish I had a bigger portion for how much it cost but it was really really good and if I’m ever rich enough to go back I will just for that mushroom ravioli.

This review is strictly for a wedding. I recently had my wedding at The Palouse Ridge Golf Course, catered by Banyans in their convention center area. I can not say enough good things about this venue for a wedding. The main thing I would like to comment on is the staff. From start to finish, they were SO accommodating, answering questions, fielding multiple phone calls from crazy bride and her family:)(we did a lot of DIY so had a lot of questions), answering questions about food, location, organization of the room/venue. The GM Frank was great. The food was great, great selection of wine and beers, good waitstaff and bartenders. All in all, I would give two huge thumbs up! I owe a big thank you to these guys for making my day so special.

Had a large group(HS reunion) go for a pre-set menu dinner and not only was the service super slow and horrible, quite a few of us got food poisoning. When I called to inform them, the owner talked to me and was neither sympathetic nor apologetic about the situation and basically yelled at me saying it wasn’t from them(even though that was the only food we all had in common). Been there a few times before and it was good with a great view, but after this experience, I don’t think I’ll be back for a long, long time.

This was by far my worst experience at Banyans I have ever had, let alone a restaurant itself, and I have to say I will not be returning. The service was poor and the management was even worse.

Coconut shrimp, great view, lobster mac and cheese, herb crusted halibut, smoked salmon, crab cakes with risotto remote great, good service. The halibut was a bit small. pricing is ok, not as high as I expected. portions were good. service was attentive until they got busy. overall a good experience though

Great steaks and ambiance. Perfect place for a group dinner or romantic date. Live music was playing the last time it was here. Terrific place to spend the night in Pullman!

Happy hour fits my budget! I love love this place. It’s the only place in Pullman where you can get a gourmet meal for College student prices. Because its a higher end restaurant the service has always been very good. I really appreciated that!

The boyfriend and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary here and last night we celebrated our 4th. Since it was friday night they have live music which was really nice to add some background ambiance. Now you know you are probably at one of the nicest, and classiest joint in Pullman when the University President Elson Floyd aka E-FLO is dining across the restaurant from you. THEN Mike Leach walks in also! Yeah we felt like ballers! Our service was really quick it felt like. To start we shared the crab cakes which were delicious! I had the caramelized Salmon and the BF got the New York steak. I though my salmon was pretty good. The caramelized glazed made it sweet. The salmon I would consider though to be slightly on the over cooked side. And my BF ordered his steak medium which was more medium rare. With my entrée I got a side of the apple, spinach and brie salad which I liked a lot. Since we were celebrating we decided to get dessert! Naturally anything chocolate is my go to and we got the flourless cake. It was really good and had some berries over it with ice cream and whipped cream. It was pretty good but I thought it was a little on the cold side and it would have been nice if it was slightly warm. All in all we had a nice time.

Came here from out of town and this place was recommended to me from the locals. I had the chance to sit outside and had an awesome view of the golf course, however be aware that there are a few insects outside. I ordered the Banyans Chicken with a side salad. Overall, the food quality was superb however this place is severely understaffed to the point where our waiter was also the bartender. Update: I will give this place a 4 but they need to do something about the bugs.

Food is awful, service is mediocre My wife and I came for dinner at about 6 pm. The restaurant was empty, save for us and 1 other table. Our waiter was prompt and nice enough. We started out with an order of calamari. The calamari was tough, greasy, and way over-salted. I don’t expect fresh calamari, but this tasted like it was the frozen, pre-breaded crap. We sent it back and got the tuna, which was decent, if not overly greasy. I ordered a ribeye medium rare on the rare side and my wife got the seafood pasta. Now on your menu says: Banyans serves steaks graded by the USDA as «prime». Currently less than 2% of all beef produced in the U.S. is graded prime. Our steaks are aged for 35 days and are cooked in an 1800 degree infrared broiler. This will give the steak a thin charred crust which helps to seal in the natural beef juices There was no way that this was a prime steak. It was tough, fatty, and way overcooked. There is also no way that it was cooked in a broiler. I sent it back, as it was cooked to medium/medium well. The kitchen sent out another steak that was way undercooked(black and blue at the best). Again, sent back. The steak finally came out cooked correctly, but it was so tough and fatty that I didn’t bother eating it. If this were a $ 15 steak, I would have dealt with it and been pissed, but you charge $ 30 for it. Also, to make it even worse the kitchen didn’t even switch out the veg and starch. Both steaks, over the 30 minutes, were plated on the exact same mashed potatoes and vegetables– unacceptable. As for the potatoes and veg– seriously? They were awful. Does your kitchen use frozen, pre-cooked carrots and broccoli? The potatoes were way overwhipped, and had gone gluey. I got a bowl of the seafood bisque– it was way over-salted and ridiculously thick. My wife’s pasta was overcooked and under-seasoned. The seafood was rubbery and the pasta and sauce bland. The champaign sauce was also broken– the oil had started to separate from the sauce. Bottom line, the food was awful, the service was mediocre.

Banyans is one of the nicest restaurants in Pullman, but it carries with it a high price tag. They sport a Tapas style menu of «small plates» that are not very small at all and can easily by split. My recommendation would be to go with a group and have each person order a small plate to split with the group. I have only been here once, but I ordered the Seafood Cobb and the Crab and Spinach Artichoke dip. The dip was amazing with huge chunks of crab meat mixed in with the cream cheese/cheddar cheese mixture. The restaurant sits right on the 18th green(I believe) of the Palouse Ridge Golf Course and I am sure the view is great during the golf season. Perfect date night if you are not on a strict budget. Try the wine flight! They have a great selection of Cougar wines and with the flight you can try 3 different kinds for the price of one full sized glass.

A nice place to go if you have a large budget, or on a more serious date. The salmon is TODIEFOR! And have had the Cobb Salad and Artichoke dip. I would recommend the dip, not so much the salad. The portion sizes are HUGE. The items on the small plate list are still completely splitable with a friend/significant other. Come here with a full wallet and an empty stomach! I’ve only been here at night, but I imagine that the view is wonderful.
