Academy of Chinese Medicine and Qi Gong

Dr. Xiao-​Hua Shu has been practicing Qigong over 35 years. He also has Chinese medicinal herbs. Very small office and not much room. Sometimes you have to wait awhile.

Stumbled upon Dr. Shu’s Unilocal page here while trying to figure out what happened to his own web site. I read the one recommended review and the three that weren’t and I’m left thinking Unilocal’s reviewbot needs to focus a bit less on reviewers’ contribution count.
This doctor has fans far and wide. He was recommended by the owner of a Korean nail salon up in Stamford many years ago, back when his office was in the basement of a building at the other end of that block. I can’t count how many times my wife or I stumbled into his office unable to stand up properly, and strolled out in nearly perfect shape after an hour or so of work.
Dr. Shu rarely needs to be told what is wrong — he can usually figure out problems by feel. A friend from down south visited us here and gave the doc a try. They barely spoke and within a few minutes Dr. Shu found and alleviated a knee problem. In all the time I’ve been seeing him he only failed me with one problem, which nobody else could figure out either.
The doctor sometimes will recommend medicines which he concocts into (usually awful-​tasting and foul-​smelling) teas or capsules. It’s hard for us Westerners not to be skeptic but he’s never misled us. Sometimes the concoctions include a conspicuously analgesic component. Not that I’m complaining. Beware, some of the teas are designed around the «clean colon is a happy colon» approach to overall wellness.
My family considers Dr. Shu to be nearly a magician. He has a rare gift that you can really feel, and he puts it to great use. He is also teaching one of my in-​laws now. We are fortunate to have him here and I dread the day he chooses to retire or move.

Dr. Shu, is a good, honest, and helpful doctor, who get’s great results with his expertise. This man is a rare gem folks, who has cured many very complicated illnesses.
