After passing by Villa Rosa on our way to Quincy Center dozens of times, we finally decided to check this place out for dinner. There is some street parking in front of the restaurant and there are two lots across the street.
We were greeted and seated promptly, however, service went downhill from there. Our waitress was really slow. My partner ordered the sole special and wedge salad, and I ordered the chicken parmigiana with linguini, butternut squash and a side of meatballs. Well, she forgot to bring out the salad, and she forgot the meatballs and butternut squash.
Overall the food was quite bland and uneventful. The tomato sauce had not taste, and the meatballs had no seasoning. The chicken parmigiana was okay (breading was good). The only good things about the food was the portion size (large) and the prices (inexpensive).
I would come back again as there were a few things on the menu that looked good, but Villa Rosa would not be on the top of my list to return any time soon. If the food overcompensated for the service I would have a different review here.

Wow that Marc S. guy has a grudge and is definitely a hater. Don’t believe anything he says. It looks like he’s had one too many Mcdonald’s meals in his lifetime, so his opinion to me means nothing. The villa is a wonderful time capsule that generations throughout have enjoyed! Nothing says family like chicken parm! I love their red sauce and pizza! Hey Marc– find something better to do with your time instead of writing a 5 page essay with photos included on Unilocal.I hear theres buy one get one free chicken fries at Burger King… but you probably already knew that.

lived in Quincy my whole life. seen a lot of places come and go… but the villa is still there… friendly people. good italian food… the best pizza. the interior could use an update. booths are a little tight. but ill be stoping in for a pizza once in a while till they tell me I cant.

I ate at this restaurant on the night that my parents first moved me to Quincy 9 years ago. I have frequented it over the years and have always appreciated the excellent food quality and mom and pop service. The Linguini and Clam Sauce has always been my favorite. The portion sizes are huge and I always have enough left over for lunch the next day. I will continue to go here and recommend this restaurant.

Ok, so I downloaded this app just to write this review. This place was mediocre at best. The food is bland and tasteless, the portions are ridiculously huge for no good reason the waste is insane. The prices are equally as insane. Not worth it at all. I’d rather eat a $ 0.99 Banquet meal of spaghetti and meatballs, it probably has more flavor and I’d save $ 14.00. The hostess had a terrible attitude and there was a woman there named Maria I believe and she was just so rude and disrespectful not only to customers but to her staff as well. Most of the staff seemed very unhappy. Now to the atmosphere. I’m not exactly sure what they were going for but it’s terrible. They seriously need a renovation. The carpet was disgusting, it was so black you could no longer see the design. I will never eat here again, not worth the money or the possibility of getting sick. Think twice before you eat here, there is a Burger King across the street, you’d be better off there.

Nice bartender was the only positive.
I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and it was terrible. It was a huge portion but it had no flavor. It came with two meatballs that were just as tasteless. I usually expect garlic bread when I order spaghetti and meatball but that didn’t happen here.
How does a place mess up spaghetti and meatballs so badly.

Ok, talk about harsh. The previous reviews must have been written by people who are exceptionally negative. I ate at Villa Rosa for the first time tonight with 3 of my friends. Our food was delicious and the waitress was very friendly. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because the service was a little on the slow side. That being said, we dined on a Friday night and it was busy. I think the fact that we walked in and the tables were full speaks for itself.
We almost bypassed this restaurant because of these reviews and I am so glad we decided to give it a chance.
If you are looking for great Italian food and a fair price this is the place to try.

We have been here many times. This is a basic, Southern Italian Restaurant run by a hard working family that serves family friendly food. The favorites are the Veal and Eggplant Parmesan. Chicken Sorrento is delicious. Try the Zucchini and Tomato vegetables, simple and delicious.
Canolis are Crisp and fresh, filled with a delicious ricotta.

I have been coming here occasionally for many years, in fact, I grew up right down the road. I had a gift certificate so we decided to go to dinner on Saturday night.
We walked in around 8:45PM and much to our surprise the place was nearly empty, for a Saturday night? That should have been my first hint of things to come. The Italian food was just awful! We ordered veal parmigiana and instead it was served what seemed uncooked placed on top of chicken that was tough and cold. We sent it back and was served veal but it had this greasy skin which was disgusting. The steak tips were totally without seasoning as well as the butternut squash. The bread they served was a joke and the antipasto was okay but barely any tuna.
I honestly could have had a better Italian experience at 99 Restaurant. Who is the chef? What has happened to this once great local Italian restaurant? I can never remember this place being empty on a Saturday night so I wonder why?
Just a horrendous experience!

My wife and I have been going to the Villa for a few decades but we made our last visit last evening. We always sit on the bar side and would come in once or twice a week. We knew the servers and the bartenders and most of the regulars. Almost all of the staff we knew have been let go withiut knowing why. The replacement staff is not as good. They are all on the young side so it may have been an economic move to replace the older and probably higher paid staff.
Last night we arrived and there were cups on all of the beer taps. No draft beer at all. We have been a few other times when there were a couple of drafts that they had run out of but this was the first time there was none. We sat and it took a few minutes for the bartender/​server to come to our table. There was some sort of informal meeting in the corner so the staff was too busy for the customers. Our server, who we thought was the bartender, was unable to help a woman at the bar with her drink request because she was not the real bartender. The real one showed up a few minutes later having been gone for a while.
We got pizza and ate only three slices between us even though it was 8:00pm and we hadn’t eaten all day. It just wasn’t good.
We miss the old Villa where we spent a lot of time but now when we go there are no more regulars as they have drifted away as we plan on doing.
One star because it was nearby.

Dined here tonight with the family for the first time. There won’t be a 2nd. Food was Okay. Service slow and forgetful. I asked for a drink refill and she brought it 15 min later when we were asking for the check.
Kids got chocolate milk with ice cubes in it. $ 50 +tip for a family of 4 (2 kids meals).

I’m sorry to give this place one star. It’s walking distance to me, I actually prefer a dive bar (which this seconds as – and not bad for a beer or two mind you), but the food is just bad.
We ordered a chicken parm sub — the fried chicken was burnt as was the bun, the sauce seemed over-​reduced like it was the same sauce sitting all day, and there was no cheese — which although reads as a miss was actually ok with me.
We also ordered a meatball sub. The only taste here was from the over-​reduced sauce. The meatballs were tasteless and weird.
We ordered a side salad too but after the gross out of the previous tastes, even that grossed us out, imagining the kitchen it came from — but in all honesty the salad didn’t seem so bad — your average iceberg deal.
For the steep prices you pay, I don’t feel you get any sort of quality. But if you want a dive bar beer, stop by.

The are warning signs one should take note of as signs of what’s to come. The restaurant was filthy the waitress was truly out of her element. After awaiting 35 minutes for salads and bread that never came; out came food one would have thought was a joke for Gordon Ramsey to rant about! Cold plates of over cooked greasy garbage that was truly unappetizing and inedible!
Over cooked to saw dust chicken fingers, soaking in grease and butter was passed off as chicken Marsala! The mush served as pasta so over cooked it could not be picked up with a fork! The final insult were the veggies that were literally swimming in two inches of rancid olive oil! This is not an exaggeration! Old, cold, over cooked crap Gordon Ramsey would have thrown at the walls followed by his screaming at the chef for hours demanding to know what the hell was wrong with him for serving crap !
When we complained management thought we were joking! The four of us got up and left ! I swear on my life nothing at all resembled anything that could pass on this planet as food!
Bottom line stay home there is absolutely no reason at all to ever go there !!!
In the event of a nuclear war and the only place to have survived to have «food» was this dump then my recommendation is to still stay home and make friends with a can of chef Boyardi!

If I could give the Villa Rosa no stars I would. I have eaten there for years and can say I will never ever go back. The never get a takeout order right. Don’t order takeout from there. They quote you the wrong time so you end up waiting and then they never fail to get the order wrong. Tonight they told me it would half an hour for the food to be ready 55 minutes later they handed me an order with my pasta with the wrong sauce on it after I asked three times for different sauce. Then everyone but my 4 year old son got their meal.
In fairness the food can sometimes be good. The inconsistency and terrible service is why I am not headed back there. Also it has gotten too pricey for the level of food they serve.

This place is truly awful, the kind frequented by people who value huge portion size over all else. One of us had chicken parm, usually a safe bet, but it was gross: watery overcooked angel hair, flavorless, dry chicken fried in old oil. Another had a sirloin, cooked properly, tasted good… OK.
The décor was mid-80’s, dusty looking and dusty smelling. We were there at 6 pm on a Saturday and already the trash can in the ladies room was overflowing onto the floor. The paper wrapper on my straw was stained with something dark brown, like gravy. If we weren’t in a hurry, our better judgement should have caused us to leave before we suffered the food.
Our server was professional and nice.

$ 18 for veal parmesan but there’s only cheese on 1 piece of the veal so how is that Parmesan? They have always «nickel and dimed» their customers… blue cheese dressing — that’s extra! Not enough sauce on your pasta — that’s extra! But when I ask for there to be cheese on the other piece of what is SUPPOSED TO BE veal parm, they say «that’s extra — we have to charge you». Really? Now that’s absurd.
This place has been around forever… I am at a loss as to why they still manage to survive. Food is nothing special, and their prices are quite high now. The décor is atrocious… looks like the inside of a Russian cruise ship. Ick. Stay away.

We ordered take out from Villa Rosa for the first time last night. We are new to Quincy and are still looking for a good home style Italian restaurant. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan and my boyfriend had the chicken parm. Both were great portions, and both dinner dishes tasted pretty good.
The only complaint I had was the sauce for the pasta was pretty watery. However I would definitely give this place another shot, probably as a sit down dinner instead.
