I had a very bad experience with this company. They were hired for a move in December of 2015. I was only moving a mile to my new residence. The movers were friendly but they did a unprofessional job. First, the movers did not move all of my belongings. When I asked, they stated that they ran out of room on the truck. I had to take the next week to go back and forth to the house to move everything out. My lamp shades, dresser and entertainment center were damaged. They also put two holes in my walls. Most of my items were mislabeled and valuables were thrown into random boces. I could not find my icon camera for about a month. I actually bought another camera because I thought the movers lost my original one. My $ 2,000 Nikon camera was found 4 weeks later stuffed at the bottom of a bag that held reusable shopping bags. I spoke to the GM about all of this and he only addressed the damage to my furniture. I would never use this company again. I’ve moved 5 times over the past 7 years and this was the worst one that I have experienced.

This service was WONDERFUL. I called and got an appt the next day. The guys showed up right on time and were friendly and courteous, the load up was quick and they got everything done in a matter of minutes (junk haul away). The service isn’t cheap, but when you’re moving and need stuff gone it’s reasonable– especially since they do everything for you. I’d recommend these guys in a heartbeat.

I used college hunks again just yesterday (moving out generates a lot of junk!) and this crew was just as wonderful as the first. When they say ‘Stress Free’ they mean it!

I used College Hunks for moving services as we moved into our new home. They were on time, polite, explained things well, wrapped up our furniture and art very well, and moved all items without any damage and within the estimated time frame. In fact, they finished the job about an hour earlier than estimated, so we came in below our original estimate. They were very careful with our belongings and very respectful of us as clients. College Hunks did a great job… and we’ve already recommended them to someone at work.

They were great, We paid hourly and they wasted no time. We have valuable antiques, which they handled very carefully, everything wound up where we wanted it with no damages.
I would recommend them to anyone!

I wanted to share my experience this weekend. Moving is a very stressful experience, but Bryan and Casey took all of the stress out of the move. The College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving really took care of all of my belongings and made the move very fast. But the biggest plus of the whole day is how they interacted with my son Daniel. For those of you that don’t know, Daniel has special needs. Both Bryan and Casey took time to talk with Daniel and answer all of his questions. This was huge in my book. It was wonderful to see all of this. Daniel was very happy and really enjoyed his time with Bryan and Casey.
In the end, based on my experience, I would highly recommend the College Hunks of Raleigh for any of your moving needs.

I’ve used them twice to do junk removal and they’ve been punctual and extremely friendly both times. The rates might seem a little high, but just compare them to trying to haul everything yourself and you’ll find it’s worth paying for. In the Raleigh/​Durham area, they partner with TROSA, which is awesome. If you have furniture that’s usable, they’ll call TROSA to come pick it up and you won’t be charged (plus you’ll get a tax deduction, which is a nice bonus!).

The two gentlemen who unloaded our very full 16 foot moving truck were very professional, very careful with our things, and worked very hard and quickly despite the horrible heat and humidity on the day of our move. I was pleasantly surprised when they got everything done in just two hours! I will definitely use your company again for our next move!

I used College Hunks for moving and I must say they made it a very pleasant experience. They were polite, personable and extremely professional. I’ve dealt with a few movers in my time and they aren’t normally any of those features.

Justin and William with College Hunks were awesome! They moved our daughter’s belongings quickly and with great concern. They were professional, nice and business oriented. I would use them again with absolutely no reservations!

What started out as a wonderful moving/​loading experience, fell quite short of my expectations. I hired College Hunks to load my trailer for a cross country move last month, ⁵⁄₂₀₁₅. The men that showed up were great, did a wonderful job of playing «tetris» with my boxes and my furniture, and were able to load my belongings in a small space. Unfortunately, when my trailer arrived, the load had completely collapsed.
Now, the problem here isn’t that the guys didn’t load my belongings the best they could – quite the contrary. The problem is that they didn’t use the furniture pads I had provided for the move. The result – my furniture, mostly mid-​century antiques, was destroyed. I spent $ 260 plus $ 80 tip to ensure my prized possessions would arrive safely. Unfortunately, they did not. I estimate the damage to be in the ballpark of $ 1700. But, you know what? These things happen. I’m good with furniture. I might be able to sand and refinish both of my credenzas and my coffee table. But I can’t reupholster my Eames recliner – Gouged, scraped, destroyed.
When I let College Hunks know what happened, they told me once I sign the papers, there is no liability on their part – Even though the furniture pads I provided would have prevented any damage. I asked for $ 130 just to pay for the materials I would need to fix some of my furniture, and they refused. So, if you want the run-​down – it cost me around $ 2000 to hire College Hunks to destroy my stuff.
Moving is tough. If you choose to go with College Hunks, make sure you watch every single thing that happens when loading, make double sure your valuable furniture is properly secured and protected – otherwise, just throw it out – it’ll cost you a lot less.

These guys know their business, and really care about the customer’s needs. We initially had some scheduling issues and the crew was around 2 hours late. In order to complete the move in a timely manner, they sent out an extra crew and a manager at no extra charge. I’ve never seen a house moved so quickly!
They did ding up the stairwell some while moving furniture upstairs in the new house, which (in my experience) is inevitable. Less than a week after the move, they had a painter out to the house to patch and touch up the wall.
Note, that despite the tardiness and the dent in the wall, I’m giving these guys a 5 start review. Problems are inevitable, but how they are solved makes the difference between a good company and a great company. These guys are _​great_​.

This company was recommended to us and their quote was right in line with a few other places we called, but the times of day they could move us were much more in line with what we needed so we hired them. They showed up exactly on time, were very careful with everything we had, loaded and unloaded quickly and everything was great. I would definitely use them again!

Terrible customer service. The owner is a jerk. How this guy stays in business is amazing! I hired college hunks for a move and the two guys that showed up moved a two bedroom in 3.5hrs from 3^rd floor apartment to a 2 story home. No damage and no complaints. I was so happy I hired them again, this time I had a 1 bedroom, less items but going back to 3^rd floor when I gave all this information to the women providing the estimate she said it would take about 4.5 to 5hrs. Expected as going up the steps is a bit harder. The guys were nice showed up on time but a bit slower than the first crew I had. No problem at this point. Basically, the move took 7.5 hours! I was price shocked they took off 30-​mins for their breaks, yes of course, and when the crew member called the owner they gave me $ 25 off the total. This is after the movers admitted to me that the estimator always provides under estimates. According to me that is a SCAM!
They also damaged my couch, it was a struggle to get in door so I understood and broke a fan. I called and spoke to franchise manager about the estimate and actual costs. Very nice man and professional and very understanding. He said he had to speak to the owner. The manager called me back and basically said the owner will not do anything about the way off estimate I was given by his staff. I called the owner myself he was not understanding, rude and inconsiderate. He had the attitude he could care less about the under estimate I was given, and blamed me for not providing accurate information! Are you kidding me! I told the women exactly what I had to move down to the estimated amount of boxes.
I will never use this company again and by reading other reviews it appears this is a pattern. This owner of this franchise needs to work on his customer service skills. If he apologized and actually sounded like he cared I would have been fine. I’m upset because this guy could care less and has no ethics!
Don’t call corporate either, they refer you back to the franchise and the man in charge, Mike, who is the «franchise support specialist» could careless and this is the example College Hunks is setting for all franchise owners, no wonder, the owner of Raleigh franchise treated me like garbage. If you use this company, plan on getting screwed!

My fiancé and I were moving from NYC to Raleigh. We hired College Hunks to pack us up and then unpack us once we got to Raleigh the next day, and we drove the trunk down ourselves.
I was absolutely pleased with the service in both locations.
For the unpack in Raleigh, we asked them to be there at 8am, and I received a call at 7:50 letting me know they were about 5 – 10 minutes away. It was raining, and they still made it to the appointment on time. We had two men moved us in, and no, they were no college kids that were amateurs. They were very professional (also licensed and bonded), polite, and got straight to work.
They were also very efficient, which helped keep costs down since you are charged by the hour. So glad there wasn’t any time wasting.
SOOOO glad we hired them for the moving services and would definitely recommend and use them again!

Used these guys today for a neighborhood «trash day». It was the second time we’ve used them. Great job! Communicated clearly, confirmed date & time, were punctual and friendly, plus were neat in their work. Prices were reasonable for the service. We will use them again & recommend them for trash haul service.

Mikey and Dominic arrived on time. I had them load a POD with my househlold contents. It was questionable whether or not it would all fit. They strategically packed the pod in a way we never would have been able to do. We moved ½ way across the country. After unpacking, Everything was in perfect condition! Thanks so much guys for an awesome job!

Just a bunch of big hunks hauling Junk. No big deal. They did good job I guess. I tipped them with extra guacomole.

When they finally showed up almost two hours late, the guys did a good job except for scratching a few things. It happens and it’s covered in the contract.
However, when you go to enforce the contract and ask for your compensation, you don’t get any response. I should have been sent a check after the crew chief noted the damage on the paperwork. I should not have to follow up but I tried to no avail.

Showed up an hour and a half after 2hr pickup window (10min *after* I called to cancel due to the lateness).
Window given was 12−2p. Received a call at 12p that they would be here in 45min. Received a second call at 2:20p that they’d be here «in 45min». Received a third call at 3:20p asking if the team ever showed up. I requested to cancel. The team showed up 10min later, parked in front, then left. Obviously, I don’t recommend.
