Horrible, Horrible company; company had to replace our compressor, city inspector came out and told us they never got the permit and installed it all wrong. Auxiliary heat stopped working on other unit, tech had no idea how to work our thermostat, pretty much scratched his head the entire time he was here, said he crossed some wires to make it work, turned out he crossed some wires that shouldn’t have been crossed and messed up the rest of the unit.
Every other company laugh’s when you tell them that woodcrest did work on your home because most of them have been called out to fix all of woodcrests’ issues. This other company told me that he went to fix an error of woodcrest and found out that they connected the gas heat and cooling together which could have caused an explosion and blown up the house.
Do not use this company.

I would give them zero stars if that was an option! This company is terrible.
We were contracted with them through our home warranty FOUR weeks ago for an AC repair. It was August. It was HOT. Our unit was making a terrible racket. The first tech that came out told us the motor needed to be replaced and that they were going to try to find an exact match because of the size/​shape of our unit. A stock motor may not fit/​work but it might take some time to find the matching motor since its an old unit. 12 days later they arrived to install the new motor, and the tech noticed that the fan blade also needed to be replaced as a part that is normally one piece has separated in to two. He left the motor with us and told us they would overnight the fan blade and return tomorrow to do all the repairs. When my husband looked at the motor he found that it is not a match to the old motor and in fact has less horsepower. He went to our unit. wrote down the numbers on the old motor and found an exact match available online with a simple google search. in 5 minutes he did what supposedly took Woodcrest 10 days — found a matching motor. We told the management that we did not want the motor they brought us, but wanted an exact match like they told us they were going to get. After much back and forth they agreed to order the matching motor. The tech replaced the fan blade and the AC is working better now, but we’ve been waiting 2 weeks for the motor. They haven’t contacted us and won’t return our calls.
If your AC breaks, call a company that know what they are doing. If your home warranty company tries to contract you with Woodcrest, demand that they give you another company!
SERIOUSLY, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME. DON’T EVER USE THIS COMPANY!

I had recently purchased my home which came with a home warranty. I was having an issue with my heat pump. It started off with the unit would run but no air was coming through inside the house. I placed a service request through my home warranty and it got assigned to Woodcrest. I immediately Googled them and found some pretty negative reviews and was quite nervous for what lied ahead.
They contacted me very quickly and were quite pleasant to deal with and got a technician out that afternoon. I thought that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. Unfortunately that’s where my good feelings ended. The technician arrived and said there was nothing wrong with the unit and simply recharged it adding a mere 1 pound of coolant. Within an hour of him leaving, not only did the unit stop working completely, my thermostat went blank. I called them back the next day and they got the same technician out the next morning. This time he said a transformer was bad. Well 5 days later, they showed back up to replace the said bad transformer. They said I did not have to be home for the repair so I remained at work. After getting a call from Woodcrest stating the unit was repaired and functioning (remember, I was not home and they had no access to the house and my thermostat was blank) and to let them know if I had any issues. Well, when I got home, everything was the same way it had been for the past 6 days. Mind you, this was the end of July in some of the warmest weather with animals in the house.
After 3 attempts of coming out to unsuccessfully fix my AC, I called my home warranty and explained the situation and that I wanted a different contractor to look at it. They informed me that they would be glad to however, Woodcrest would need to update/​complete the existing work order before they can do this. well 3 days later and multiple phone calls to them they still refuse to close my request and allow me the right to have someone else come look at it. Holding me and my dogs hostage in the now August heat.
I beg you, please stay away from these guys. They are completely inexperienced and do not care about you or your animals well being.

I had My home warranty company send a new company out (one that was actually BBB accredited and had an A+ rating) and the guy not only diagnosed the problem but had my unit fixed and up and running the same day! He said it was an easy repair and the other guy should have been able to realize the issue. So I went a total of 12 days without AC all because Woodcrest has people that have no clue working for them. Buyer beware!

We were unfortunate enough to have Woodcrest Mechanical Svcs come out to our rental property in Morrisville, NC for an a/​c issue at the beginning of August 2012 through a home warranty claim. They wrongly diagnosed the problem as a faulty compressor and the home warranty had to order the part direct from the manufacturer. Due to a backorder, the compressor took 14 – 15 business days instead of the estimated 4 – 5 business days. During that time, my tenants would have been without a working a/​c in the most hot and humid month of the summer. The back ordered part was not their fault. While waiting for the part to come in, I went to an outside vendor and they replaced the v-​valve. They were adamant that there was nothing wrong with the compressor. Well, when the part finally came in and Woodcrest came out to install it, they said the a/​c was working fine and there’s NOTHING wrong with the compressor so they did not install the new one. From my understanding, if they did not install it, then it would no longer be covered under my home warranty since that is what they claimed was the problem.
What I do fault them is incorrectly identifying the problem. Which led to a long wait time. Which led to me seeking outside vendor help, Which led to problems with my home warranty because the work done with the outside vendor is not covered under home warranty and the part they replaced will not be under warranty. My tenants would have died in the east coast humidity since the compressor did not come in until August 28^th (Case was opened on ⁸⁄₁ and part was ordered on ⁸⁄₆). Since there was really nothing wrong with the compressor, the 3 weeks waiting time would have been for nothing since the problem would still exist. I’m currently dealing with my home warranty to resolve the issue. Why replace a perfectly working compressor?
How can they say there’s something wrong with the compressor, come back and claim that there’s nothing wrong? THe a/​c is working fine because ANOTHER part was replaced. Woodcrest need to train their technicians better or at least hire QUALIFIED people to do their job.
