Action Guns and Ammo Sales

Most dishonest, shadiest «gun dealer» I have ever had experience with. And I’ve had many. Was searching for a specific handgun that was tough to find. I was calling everybody in town, nobody had it. To my surprise though, Action Guns said they were able to get it ordered. They wanted me to come in and pay for it first, AND fill out the DROS paperwork… without having possession of the gun. This was my mistake agreeing to that which you’ll learn why. NEVER do paperwork unless they have the gun there, with the serial #. Otherwise I basically gave them signed paperwork and they could do whatever they want– or TRY to. Over week goes by, no contact. I call, they say that the gun they saw thought they could order was not CA legal, their mistake… HOWEVER, they were able to locate one and sorry for the delay, they’ll have it next week. ok no problem. They call when they get it, I go in there. I examine the gun and first thing I notice is: It is NOT CA LEGAL version. Second: This gun was SO used and abused. I could tell 1000s of rounds were fired through it. I own the same model in different caliber and I know what they feel like when broken in. I called them out on it. THey said no, brand new! Interesting, because all the new guns from this manufacturer have new TAGS on the trigger gaurd tied with string — NOT THIS ONE! They also tried to soak it with gun oil. Over did it guys, great try though. Then I called them on the big one: You can not legally sell this gun to me as new because its not CA compliant model. THEREFORE, it HAS to be used, AND because I already filled out the paperwork for background check I KNEW they were doing a private party transfer on the back end and bought this USED gun off
or something like that. The owner then came out, plays dumb, and says HMMM yeah you’re right, its not CA legal. Sure is interesting because the reason for the initial delay was because they couldn’t find one that was CA compliant. and they still tried to pull this crap. I am not a novice guys, sorry. So, I requested a full refund which they gave me including the DROS/​Background check fees. They gave me a copy of the DROS after I requested it, yet they marked out their Dealer # with black marker. Hmmm? Why? Nobody else does that. Hiding something guys? Worried about something you wouldn’t want the DOJ to know about?
Then I stop by this joke of a place again a few days later and guess what I see hanging on their wall? The exact same gun they tried to sell me as NEW, but about $ 200 cheaper, which happened to be the exact blue book price on a used gun for that model.
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SHADY PEOPLE.

I was out and about and wanted to check out the Rock Island Tactical 1911 A2 — stoped in the shop on Sunrise at 10 AM and they had not opened thier doors. Unilocaled gun stores and found Action was right around the corner.
Had the gun I wanted, on sale, busted out the paperwork, said come back in 11 days and I was done.

Bait and Switch?
After seeing two versions (9mm and .40 cal) of a very sought after handgun in their April 10, 2014 advertisement, I called them a few minutes after they opened for business the very same day. I inquired about the weapons on ad, and was told, «We just sold the last one».
I wonder why a store would incur the cost of an advertisement, advertising 2 different versions of the same gun as being in stock, then within minutes of the store opening, they’re sold out. It’s just too far of a stretch for me to believe.
Glad I didn’t travel across town based upon the advertisement.

Horrible!!! They installed a carrier (side saddle) to hold the reserve rounds to my daughter’s shotgun. Soon after, it came off. I took the gun back and he replaced it, in his reloading room, no charge. Brought the shotgun home and placed it on the kitchen counter. My daughter picked it up and noticed the action release, trigger and safety were all frozen and could not be moved. There was also something rattling around inside the shotgun. The very next day, I took the gun back and was told they could not do anything until later in the week. Then he said, «it was working fine when we gave it to you». How he knew that was beyond me, he wasn’t even there the day before. I went to Rancho Cordova Guns and Ammo, great place. He took the shotgun apart on the counter and noticed that a spring was missing. The rattling noise was the casing to a 9 mm round that was inside the shotgun. I took the casing back to Action Guns and told them about the missing spring. He said, «Oh well, we didn’t do that». Really, you think I went home, took the gun apart, removed the spring and put the casing to a 9 mm in the gun?! I would not recommend anyone ever going there.

The wife bought an inexpensive Hi point C9 9 mm just for plinking and the whole buying and pickup was as easy as could be. No upsale or talking bad about the gun just an easy deal from a smaller local Rancho Cordova gun store. A+ for this store.

Came here for my boss and the gentleman, Ken, was very helpful over the phone. I usually go to Ammo Depot, but this is closer to my work.
I’ve only been here once, but my first time experience was pleasant!
It’s surrounded by auto shops so once you see the address building, enter into the parking lot and follow the road and you should be able to see the shop’s sign to your right.
Accepts all credit cards except AMEX.

I recently bought a couple of complete AR’s and a couple of lowers from this shop. They were very helpful as these were my first AR purchases. Everyone working there were very friendly and answered any question I had with courtesy tho I’m sure some of my questions might have seemed idiotic to someone who has the slightest knowledge of AR’s. This is the reason why I will definitely be back for the rest of my firearm purchases from here on.

I really think this place deserves some recognition. The store is small but they have a lot in there don’t let it fool you. It’s not the easiest to find but I’m really glad I gave this place a look. A lot of people don’t like gun stores ESP if they know very little. I know a fair amount but new to AR rifles so Im sure I asked a lot of dumb questions. The guy there was extremely helpful and nice. He talks at a level you understand without making you feel like any question is a dumb question. He takes the time to really talk to you and not rush you. He won’t up sale you and you can genuinely tell he wants you happy he isn’t going to sell the most expensive thing to you. Both people working the store are really great at what they do and it’s a good atmosphere. Weither you are an expert or never touched a gun I think everyone can enjoy this store. This is one of the few stores I will gladly make the drive or spend the extra buck, which don’t get me wrong their prices are great, but I will def return here strictly cause I’m a firm believer in supporting businesses with amazing customer service. Check this place out you.

Horrible profiteers. Don’t buy from them when prices stabilize to teach all who gouge us when they can.

What a customer wants is to not even have the staff look up from the packing slip they are looking at for 10 minutes when he or she enters. The customer wants to feel like they are a breeze that has just blown the door open and is invisible to the staff, even if they are the only customer in the store. Customers find this kind of behavior absolutely irresistible.

This is the best shop in Rancho, and probably one of the tops in the Sacramento area.
I have been here only twice, once when I had a Glock 27 delivered, and again to buy my new Glock 23. This place is exactly what I want when i’m in the market for a new firearm. I was in the military and law enforcement for a few years, so I know my guns, and what I want. So I love when I come here to check out the stock, I don’t get any BS, I never get any sales pitches I don’t want or need, just good friendly customer service.
I came in for a Glock 23, I saw it, we bs’d a little bit about the crazy market now, and then I bought my gun.
Now the prices I found were perfect, of course prices are a little higher than a few months ago, but that’s no biggy. Supplies are in insane demand right now, and shops need to be able to keep up, and lets face it that’s how capitalism works! Also, Action Guns had my gun marked almost $ 60 less out the door, then the shop right across the street, and a lot of other places I have checked out in the area! Thats just a no brainer, why pay more for the exact same thing?
If you’re in the market for a new firearm, or shooting supplies, and yeah these guys still have a decent inventory of ammo as well, then you should be going here! They have name brand and reloads that are still reasonably priced for today’s market.
I know ill be back here for anything else I need, and ill recommend it to all my friends or family who is also looking!

Small mom and pop store with a lot of AR accessories. It’s about a ¼ mile from Macho Cordova Guns. Ammo is expensive everywhere and they have competitive prices. Called 10 places and found what I was looking for there. Guy is by himself sometimes but definitely a option for me to buy a gun. Like them better than Shooters Warehouse where I purchased two guns from and no more.

This place was one of the coolest gun shops around. I wasn’t pressured into buying a gun but ended up buying one anyways and sat around talking with these guys for almost 30 minutes afterwards just because they were also cool people. Definitely recommend. I marked that they were inexpensive based on the deal I got on my gun and the fact that they had some of the value packs (250) of ammo beat with there prices for a box (50) when you look at the per bullet price. Great guys. And girl.

Went to action guns yesterday and was so blown away by their great customer service i bought a firearm on my first visit. I’ve been to all the gun shops in the area and action guns is by far the least painful when it comes to purchasing a firearm. I mean I don’t have jump through hoops to buy my firearm like another gunshop in orangevale that I go to frequently. I wish I would’ve found them a long time ago. Their prices r on par with any of the local gun shops if not cheaper on firearms and accessories. The only negative i have is that they have a limited selection of firearms seeing as they are a small shop. But if u r in the market for a firearm make sure to give them a try. I highly recommend them!

Great place to go for guns and ammo especially if you are a newbie like me. I had no clue as to what I needed to have in order to purchase a handgun and walked in the shop with a bunch of questions.
Justin was very helpful and informative. He took his time explaining to me what I should be looking for and was not pushy at all for a sale. He answered all my questions with so much enthusiasm that it was contagious. He was able to calm my fear of firearms by explaining how safe they are if handled properly.
The prices of their guns are very competitive. Even if they end up being more at this place I’d still buy it from here because of the personalized service they provide. They don’t make you feel rushed at all.
They have a wide selection of everything. Don’t judge them by their exterior. They may look like a little shop but they have a lot to offer.
Ammo is average everywhere else in the area. It could be cheaper. But not a deal breaker since ammo is not cheap overall.
They also offer taking the HSC here for $ 30. And they check your paper in front of you and review the questions you got wrong.
I know that I am going to be their loyal customer from now on. :)

I can not be more grateful to both Justin and Glen, who are both very kind and knowledgeable. I brought in some guns that I inherited and knew nothing about (I am not a gun person). They oiled my guns, checked them for safety, gave me some rough appraisals (along with advice not to sell them), and helped equip me with some ammunition and a gun safe. Beyond the excellent service and very respectful treatment I received, I am perhaps most impressed by Justin’s thoughtful advice that I NOT buy a gun I was interested in purchasing. He knew from his thoughtful questions that I was not ready for such a purchase and encouraged me to wait. It was the kind of advice you only get from a person who genuinely cares for people and who has an enormous amount of respect for guns and gun safety. I’d like to thank Justin for taking his time with me, making me feel really comfortable and helping me to make really good choices for myself and my family. Thank you!

Purchased a handgun from Glen today-​Great service-​helpful and friendly and their price was better than any of the local dealers. Highly recommended.

By far the best gun shop in Sacramento hands down. I have been to several gun shops within the area and although the inventory may not be huge here, Justin can get his hands on just about any gun you want. I purchase several guns a year and I also do several PP transfers so customer service to me is of the utmost importance. Justin is quick and friendly and is always willing to lend a hand. Since finding this shop I do not even bother to go anywhere else for my gun needs.

The guys at Action Guns are great. No ego’s or bad information, good selection of pistols. I shoot a lot of their «Gold Country Reloads» and I am very satisifed! Thumbs up!

I can say this a a shop to. It is less expensive than cordova guns about 2 blocks away. They are more personal and the other shop. I have purchased a rifle and had a very good experience. Small shop and very easy to miss if you blink. It’s in the middle of a couple of auto shops. Well worth your business.
