AV Lawn Service and Landscaping

We had an overgrown mess of a backyard. Avenir called me the same day I requested a quote, coming out the next day to see what we were dealing with and to give us a bid. My husband and I wanted to fix up our backyard before family came out, so time was of the essence. While in our backyard, Avenir knew more about the plants we had growing than we did. They came out the following week, and completed most of the work. Unfortunately, I think the job was bigger than what he originally thought. He said they’d be back out Monday morning, and they were. Our backyard looks amazing. And clean! As far as professionalism goes, we had a misunderstanding (a few hundred dollar misunderstanding), Avenir ended up not charging us the extra amount for the rocks. He didn’t argue at all. We’re hoping to hire them again for our front yard, and then monthly service. I only wish we had taken before photos so I could post the comparison. Excellent job. Thank you for your hard work!

We needed new sod. I wrote a spec requesting the soil be «amended and loosened in preparation for sod placement» that Avenir responded to with his bid. His workers must not have gotten the memo, because they scraped the soil to hardpan to prepare it for the sod — today I discovered a concrete drain inlet that they had covered with the sod — with no topsoil beneath it.
Well, because sod with no roots doesn’t do well, now three years later the lawn is patchy and thin. I reseed it, I fertilize it, I add soil to it, but I would not have had to do even half of this if he had simply followed my spec for the work I wanted done. Or if he just known the best practice for planting sod, himself.

If I could give no stars I would. I will NEVER use this company’s service again or refer them to another person. I used Avenir to replace the front lawn sod and price was average. I had to keep following up with him because I had several patches that kept dying. I also used him for regular lawn service and his crew missed a weekly service here and there and had I not noticed and called him to make up the missed day they would have simply skipped the weekly service. I also referred him to a neighbor and although she still used him I would say he took advantage of her being elderly and over charged her to take down 1 side of an old fence and work to clean up the backyard shrubs and lawn. My neighbor had made a comment on his price and service and said she would never use him again either, but simply did this one time since I referred him and she did not want the hassle of shopping around. I also asked Avenir to quote some yard work to be done in the backyard and he gave me a quote that was high and I was able to find another guy to do it for a better price. Avenir asked me to let him know next time and he could work on the price. Well, why didn’t you give me your best price to begin with then? I don’t recommend this company or their service.

I wish I could give this company 100 stars! We contracted them to remove the concrete from a patio and cut out the tree root that had the concrete pushed up. Then to replace the concrete in the patio.
They showed up on time, were honest, respectful and pleasant. They went right to work and finished the job in record time. The patio looks better now than it did when it was new!
Price was fair and left us feeling like they deserved more. They went over and above. What a beautiful job! Thanks!!!

They did great work, set my sprinkler timer and showed up when they said they would. I highly recommend them.

These guys have been doing a fantastic job! Can’t say enough how much I appreciate how they’ve cleaned up my yard. They do much more than just trim your lawn. If anyone needs lawncare service they have got my highest recommendation.

We moved into our new home a little over 4 years ago that had some bushes planted around the front lawn and a few poorly placed rose bushes. We made the mistake of letting the bushes grow out to the point where we couldn’t tackle the job on our own. We contacted AV Lawn Service and Landscaping and someone came out within a few days to give us an estimate. Not only was the price right for all that we needed done but he also gave us tips and suggested on a few things; but he wasn’t pushy at all. He made his suggestions but didn’t push us to do anything more than what we were asking at this time. We agreed on the job on Wednesday and they were out the following Monday (which worked best for all of our schedules). It took two men a few hours to get everything done, even exceptional clean up and removal of the lawn debris; they also went over and cleaned up fallen debris from our neighbors yard due to the bushes being along the fence. The also removed the rose bushes that should have never been planted where they were lol. It looks great!
We’re very happy and I’ve already recommended them to family members that are looking for some work done as well.
They’re nice, did a great job, and reasonably priced.
We will definitely use them again in the future, possibly for bigger work as my mind is reeling on what we can do to give our entire front a new look :)

since February four trees AV planted in my yard have died due to lack of water and there is a lawn sprouting beneath the ground cover (the only place in my yard this has happened). They had contracted to plant trees and link with irrigation but failed to do so. I have asked repeatedly for this business to correct their mistake but they are unresponsive. Like I mentioned, perhaps mowing & clipping someone else’s landscape & design are okay but I cannot recommend AV for anything else.

This is the first I’ve ever Unilocaled but have been so outraged a business utterly lacks any sense of work ethic I felt I should warn others.

This company services my front lawn once a week (4 times a month). We’ve had them for about three months or so. Within two weeks our struggling yellow brown lawn has turned a healthy vibrant green and stayed at way. In addition to mowing and edging, which is what I pay for, this service also occasionally pulls weeds and clips around the tree bases.
I’m auto billed each month so I don’t have to remember to pay each week. Each month I get a consolidated receipt for the services they provided in the mail. AV Lawn Service is a no hassle/​no fuss company.

I never have time for taking care of my lawn. If it wasn’t for these guys, I’d be paying $ 50 to mow every week. These people not only properly care for my lawn, they also take care of a small flower bed as well, letting me enjoy watering and looking at them.
