I was taught at a Catholic school in Sacramento then going on to Jesuit High school in Carmichael. After graduating High school, I went to a Culinary program which paid me $ 2.10/hr minimum wage. Of coarse this was back in the seventies. My Dad knew the Foreman of a roofing company which needed workers. My first question to my Dad was, «How much does it pay?» He says, «$ 5/​hr». Needless to say, I became a roofing labor. I loved the physical work plus working out doors was a plus. Two weeks into my employment with this company they resumed the Government jobs they normally did. My pay went up to $ 22.50/hr. I was hooked. I worked for other companies for 24 years before starting Bernardino Roofing. Working with different companies made me realize that the customer wasn’t always getting the quality of work they deserve. That’s why I gave my company my Last Name. All of my employees have been trained to take pride in Bernardino Roofing and always provide Quality service.
